Chapter 20 Knows her name
“How come…she never mentioned you?” Sydney asked, looking at Olivia distrustfully. Of course, Olivia had no other excuse to give to her dear friend. She never knew that Sydney was indeed her true friend. She was risking everything to prove her family was murdered by the Garcias. As much as she wanted to keep her identity from her. She felt terrible.
“We only met a few times when I left the country…I just came back recently…” Olivia said with much thinking. It was a plain lie she was telling Sydney, unfortunately there was no other way to make her less skeptical. “I was calling her, but her phone was unreachable, so I…I came here,” Olivia added, swallowing hard. After they met at her house. She and Sydney found somewhere to sit since the place was now a restricted area. The police didn't allow anyone around the old Altamirano mansion.
“Well, she's no more… everything happened so fast…” Sydney said, and Olivia saw how Sydney was fiddling angrily with her hands. Sydney's resentment was justified. She only heard of what transpired, and she was this angry.
“I'm doing everything possible to prove my friend and her family were murdered…I'm not crazy, I know this,” Sydney said defensively as she glanced at me with tears in her eyes. Seeing her after a year, I just yearned to hug her and never let her go.
“Don't you think it's dangerous…you said…they are dangerous and powerful people,” Olivia inquired, acting as if she didn't know anything. Sydney went quiet for a while before she wiped her tears and looked up at her. The pain she harbored in her heart was visible in her eyes.
“Yes…but I'm not going to stop until they pay…if the law doesn't work…then…I'm taking things into my hands,” Sydney confessed with sniffles. Her voice cracked with each word spoken, and her eyes darkened. Olivia felt a shiver hearing Sydney. Was she willing to go to such an extent for her?
“I'm not sure that's a smart thing…it's…”
“The law doesn't want to hear me…if I have to take revenge, then I'm going to do that…”Sydney cut her off and Olivia was stunned, left speechless as she stared at her friend. Sydney was always calm and a little timid. She barely voiced out her opinions, nor did she get angry so easily. Seeing her lose her cool made Olivia sad.
“Please Sydney, don't do anything crazy, those people are dangerous,” Olivia spat out, trying to snap her out of it. She was alone, and those people already did more damage to her if she continued. They might just kill her.
“How…how did you know my name?” Sydney raised a question, turning to Olivia. Her cat likes sharp and demanding answers. Olivia's facepalmed herself mentally knowing she blew it. Before she could answer her. Two black SUVs pulled by, stopping away from the bench both were sitting on. Both Olivia and Sydney were alert as they looked up and several men in suits came out.
“Ms. Gonzalez…please come with us,” one of the men said shortly as they lined up in front of the two ladies. Sydney shook her head, recognizing the men.
“Don't go with them…they work for that she-devil,” Sydney spat out, glaring at the men and holding Olivia's arm. Seeing her friend's change of behavior.
“Who sent you?”Olivia implored coldly. She assumed at first it was Pedro's men, unfortunately they didn't look like they worked for him.
“Madam sent us to get you…if you don't mind… kindly come with us,” the same man said. I could feel Sydney's anger flaring up. Her heavy breathing and restraining of anger were enough.
“Don't go with them…that snake must be up to something…”Sydney protested, shifting her gaze to me. The anger in her eyes was enough to know Antonia Garcia sent these men to get me, but why.
“Don't worry…I'm sure I'll be fine,” Olivia said with an assuring smile. She knew how these people worked; hence she said goodbye to Sydney and left the roadside café they were at having a good chat over coffee. With elegance, Olivia entered the back seat of the car the men directed her to. It was time she met the woman in sheep's clothing. The devil herself.

Meanwhile, loud cries erupted in the big hall room, and cries of help echoed throughout the room accompanied by groans. Four men stood to the sides as they fixed their sharp eyes on the man tied up upside down, naked. Blood dripped from the cut openings inflicted on him. His face was unrecognizable from the cuts and wounds inflicted on him.
“Sacha…he's as good as dead,” Zane said coldly as he moved close to Pedro standing from a distance. He knew any better than to make Pedro even angrier than he already was.
“I'm sure he won't rat us out…how stupid,”this time, Gabriel spat out as he lowered the weapon he was holding in his hands. His sharp eyes would pierce through his soul, causing discomfort. The man hung above with his hands and legs stretched so much that he felt as if they were ripped out of their sockets.
“I'm sure by now he knows any better than to say a word to anyone,”Zane added, they didn't know who was busy giving out false information. Pedro's identity was not to be compromised.
“Give your orders, I'll chop his head off and feed it to the dogs”Gabriel snarled through gritted teeth. This was no time to lose. Any man who dared to pry into Pedro's affairs knew any better than to end their lives.
“Did you find out who else he told this about?”Pedro asked as he played with the metal in his hands. The cold weapon was his comforter. And looking at the doctor hanging over. He smirked as he pointed the gun at him.
“P-please…spare me…I…I didn't mean to…sir," the man pleaded for his life. He didn't know what to do to beg the boss to preserve his life. “I'll…I'll do anything…I can…I can tell you…all Antonia's secrets… please,” he continued begging. Staring at him, he was nothing but a pathetic man who used other people's secrets to earn money.
“You are as good as dead…what good will it do me to leave you alive,” Pedro mumbled in a calm voice. Zane and Gabriel stood to his side as he walked up close to the man hanging. He had been tortured for three straight days for trying to reveal Olivia's identity… The snoopy doctor poked his nose where it didn't belong. He dared to use the information he got to blackmail him. This was an insult to his reputation.
“He's pathetic…let me kill him slowly…Cho off his dick and hand it to him”Gabriel said, smirking as he walked closer to the man. Fear washed over him, seeing the devs before him. He was as good as dead. The suffering they inflicted on him was enough to kill him.
“Nah… that's too easy…I have a better idea, ''Zane chimed in and said, jerking his head. “This son of a bitch…deserves something more than him…his dick is useless” Zane added, moving his eyes up the man's lower part which was up since he was tied upside down.
“Such a useless man” Gabriel said distrustfully, and before they knew it. Three shots were fired and embedded in the man's flesh. The only things they heard were groans and a low yell from the man, and he died. Pedro was the one who shot.
“Get rid of him,” he said, handing his gun to the bodyguards standing to the sides.
“Son of…he died an easy death damn it”Gabriel cursed, knowing he would have had so much fun killing him slowly.
“For now, try not to make any mistakes…no one should know about Olivia…warn the doctors,” Pedro said coldly as he sat down gracefully. Zane and Gabriel stood to the sides and nodded.
“Alright…about that damned mayor…I have bullets,” Gabby said, displaying the gun in his hand.
“And about Olivia…” Zane started hesitantly, not sure how to voice out his words, and before he could say anything.
“Get her back now!” Pedro ordered without his men telling him what was happening. He had given that woman so much freedom. She disobeyed him despite the warning he gave her. Perhaps it was time; he illustrated to her exactly what happened when anyone dared to go against him.
