Chapter 68 An explosion
Sydney was done for the day, she was exhausted even more. So far, she has done most of her work. Alfredo was busy.
“I should take these to him,” she said with a lazy yawn, and got up from the chair and straightened her clothes.
She wore light blue skinny jeans, a long-sleeved button-up tuck-in white shirt, and black heels. She took her phone and shoved it in her back pockets.
Her hair was falling to her back in waves. She didn't wear much makeup. This was pointless. However, she didn't mind looking presentable.
Leaving her office, she proceeded down the passageway to Alfredo's office. It wasn't far from her office. It was good that Alfredo gave her own little office to do her job. Sydney knew it wasn't as big as she dreamed of. However, she was happy to be working and earning money.
“Come in,” she heard from inside when she knocked. With ease, Sydney pushed the door open, held the files against her chest, and entered the room. Like always, Alfredo was sitting in his chair, busy with work.
“Are you done?” he asked before she could even reach his desk.
“Yes, I did some work, although I need your opinion on something, "Sydney said, placing the files on the desk. Scanning the man, Sydney didn't know why he looked hot with his shirt sleeves folded to his elbows. His hair was messy, and the top two buttons were loose, showing his throat and his chest slightly.
“Sit,” Alfredo gestured for her to sit down. Sydney was hesitant. She would rather not sit. It was getting late. Already, she had to see Zane. That crazy man had been bothering her about having dinner with him.
“Sir… umm can we go through tomorrow I…” Sydney said hesitantly. Work was important. However, she was in the mood to go out.
“Do you have plans?” Alfredo asked, glancing up at her. Sydney bit her lower lip awkwardly. Before she could answer, her phone vibrated, startling her.
“Answer it,” Alfredo gave her permission when Sydney took it out with shaky hands. She was hoping it wasn't Zane. However, when she glanced at the screen, Sydney knew the man had gone crazy.
“Oh no” she accidentally
(“Hey baby doll, I'm afraid I have to cancel our little date… Something came up, we'll have our first romantic date another night… your hot lover”)
Zane's voice message rung throughout the room before she could stop it,
“I'm sorry, sir… we can go through, "she remarked, shoving the phone back into her pocket. That man was insane. She told him it wasn't a date, she wanted nothing to do with him.
“Sir” she muttered when she looked up and found Alfredo staring at her with a dark expression. He was bad at hiding his emotions.
“Boyfriend?” Alfredo asked coldly, Sydney shook her head.
“I'm sorry, that wasn't supposed to…”
“I see,” Alfredo cut her off rudely, he didn't look so happy. “I need help with my apartment… I had it remodeled, but I don't know the best design… care to help,” Alfredo said, turning the computer to show her.
“Alfredo, I don't see why you need my help,” he was the best architect there was. Why did he require her help?
“What? Are you too busy for me?” he asked coldly. By now, Sydney was stupefied as to why he was acting strange.
“That's not it…”
“Then come to my apartment,” he said softly, Sydney knew any better than to go to his place.
“I don't think so,” she fiddled with her hands nervously.
“Have you forgotten… or do I have to remind you,” Alfredo muttered, reaching for her face. Sydney jerked up when his cold, warm hand connected with her face. Tilting her head. The man was already half sitting on the desk, cupping her face.
“Freddy… I" Sydney mumbled trying to get away when the man slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her up.
“I hate it, who is the man?” Alfredo murmured as he made her sit in his lap. She felt uncomfortable, especially when Alfredo was so close to her.
“Stop it, I need,” she didn't even finish when he captured her mouth for a hungry kiss. His hands slipped behind her head and fisted her hair. Sydney was kicking and fighting to get him away.
“Stop it now,” she managed to break the kiss. The man didn't let go of her but kept his hands on her. Gripping her waist even tighter, she felt a sharp pain.
“Have you forgotten Syd…everything…those nights?” Alfredo murmured as he caressed her face, looking straight into her beautiful eyes. Sydney's gaze lowered.
“Not now, Alfredo… it's getting…”
“Why, it is because…you found someone else,” he asked slowly, leaning close to her. Sydney's heart was thumping loudly. Just having him close melted every bone in her body. How could she forget those nights she spent with him? One mistake led to another.
“I want you,” Alfredo murmured as he snuggled to her chest, wrapping his arms around her body and pressing her to him. Sydney found herself closing her eyes in pleasure. This was a bad idea, she despised her weakness. The way she yearned for him.
“Alfredo, stop it,” he was making a mistake. When Alfredo heard her. He moved away from her. Glanced up and saw how distant she looked.
“You know this is wrong… and yes… I have a boyfriend now…it's best if this doesn't happen again,” Sydney said while getting up from his lap. She didn't even waste time when she stormed away and left his office. He was a fool to think he would seduce her again just so he could sleep with her. The first time was a mistake. She was alive and excited because she thought he had feelings for her. Unfortunately, when Olivia died, she didn't want anything to do with Garcia.
“Breathe Sydney, breathe… he means nothing to you,” she muttered, exhaling and inhaling to keep calm.
Back in Alfredo's office, he sat with his eyes fixed on Sydney's phone.
“He dared,” he didn't know she didn't want him because of another man. “She's mine”

Meanwhile, time was running out and Zane had had enough of Hannah taking things into her hands. Yes, she was an important person in the mafia group, but she had no right to do that to Olivia. A human being, for that matter.
“Let… let me go!” Hannah shouted when Zane dragged her away from the control room and shoved her against the wall.
“Do you think I care about you…trust me if anything happens to Olivia's… I'll make your life a living hell!” Zane growled as he grabbed Hannah by the throat, slamming her hard against the wall, and Hannah cried out in pain.
“S-stop it…how dare you!” Hannah tried freeing herself from Zane's stronghold.
“You filthy little bitch will have it worse!” Zane snarled and tossed Hannah away, she stumbled on her feet, nearly falling when she rested her hand on the wall to balance.
“You bastard… and…and yes…that slut will have to die…if Sacha doesn't have a problem, then why should you?” Hannah said in between coughs. Her neck was hating that she felt as if Zane had broken it. Glaring at Zane, Hannah straightened up.
“How bitter are you…she's a woman like you…why hate her…” Zane failed to understand why Hannah chose to kill Olivia.
“That place is meant for criminals… that woman popped out of nowhere and is causing me a headache… she's nobody, “Hannah said with a smirk. She was waiting to hear the news of Olivia's death. She wanted to enter that hell of a room and pick up Olivia's disgusting body parts covered in blood.
“You can't stop me. I'm part of this group…not even Sacha can stop me from making sure that bitch… is out of our lives!” Hannah spat out bitterly. Her eyes shone with hate, Zane stared at her and knew she had gone crazy. Her obsession with Pedro was not healthy.
“This is madness… If…” Zane didn't even finish when they heard an explosion. Suddenly, the entire place was shaking so much that Hannah was knocked aside and ended up hitting her head against the wall.
“Damnit,” Zane cursed as he rested his hands on the wall. Shaking his head as he opened his eyes. Soon everything settled down.
“Olivia!" Zane muttered and rushed back to the control room. The explosion came from the same direction. He hoped nothing happened to Olivia. On his heels came Hannah, as much as she was hurt from the hard fall. She was eager to see the carcasses of Olivia
"Finally, that bitch went to hell to meet the devil" Hannah muttered as she hurried back to the control room. Just a step there made her stop when she found Jordan, Luke, and Quinn standing outside the door where Olivia was locked in.
"No way?" it was Jordan who muttered in dismay as they all feasted their eyes on the woman standing before them covered in blood. Her entire face was covered in red liquid. Peeking inside the room. The four of them were shocked to see destruction. Smoke was all over the place Zane didn't know what happened. Even the control room was destroyed beyond repair.
