Mad Beast
"Hello," Zayne greeted. He stood tall, strong, and confident while Aubrianne gazed up at him lovingly, "I am Alpha Zayne Steele, who led the fight against this unknown entity," he gestured toward the screen.
"We have been at this for the past three years and have yet to get anything substantial that could take us to the head of the table..."
And so Zayne began his extended rendition of all that he'd done thus far, the recent information they had gotten from Lieutenant Colonel De Four, also that they had surveillance on the new property and some key players...
Zayne had also explained that they were currently visiting communities affected by this entity in hopes of recruiting more for the cause and offering support to the affected districts.
And the more Theo listened to Zayne talk, the more he battled with his conscience. Deep down, he realized his daughter could not have been mated to a better man.
However, every time he looked at his daughter and was reminded of what she was, fear of the worse would set in, his resolve would strengthen, and he would fight against his conscience fiercely.
Theo simply cannot lose her, nor does he want his daughter to suffer.
"And I know, this is a lot to take in, it is a lot for anyone to digest, and you all know why I am here. As Rafael said, we are in need of help, any assistance we can get, even if it simply means putting us into contact with someone that can help."
Zayne paused for a moment, and his eyes slid across the room. He sensed their eagerness to help, "Nevertheless, it has been a long day and night, and I am sure we could all use some rest. We can reconvene..."
Trailing off, Zayne looked at his mate.
And again, it was like they knew each other's thoughts, "I will keep you all posted as to when." Aubrianne spoke. However, everyone except for Theo, one by one, shared their interest in wanting to help in any way they could.
With most of them already coming up with their own ideas, "Think about it, guys, and we will chat later today." Aubrianne assured.
Aubrianne was touched at their readiness to dive in head first. However, this was her mate. She needed them to think about it and be sure before they joined forces.
She does not want them to rush in and then drop to the wayside, abandoning her mate when it's more flour than water.
Let them at least sleep on it, she thought.
She knew by now the sun was peeking out, and early Sunday morning graced them with its presence. Sneaking up on them.
With that, Aubrianne rose, bid everyone farewell, and hoped they would rest well. Then she held her mate's hand, "Come with me."
Zayne followed without hesitation, only sparing one glance at Alpha Thornton to figure out if he could read him somehow.
And while Aubrianne led Zayne out of the theater straight to her wing, she only spared a deadly glance at her father when he looked like he was about to object.
At this point, there was nothing Aubrianne's father could say to her. Even though you could never be one hundred percent sure, Aubrianne had no doubts. She felt nothing suspicious of her mate and what he set out to do.
As hard as it was for some to believe, he was simply helping people, so if her father wanted to keep her away from her mate, he needed to chain her to the bottom of the ocean.
It was the only way.
Nevertheless, except for Ivan and Theo, everyone else was disbursed to their rooms.
Also, while Daniela and Jada head toward their side of the wing behind Aubrianne, Daniela is tempted to talk to Jada about the elephant in the room.
While Jada wonders if she should say anything because she knows Ivan had lost all composure tonight when he snatched her from Shawn.
And been hanging on to her like a possessive wolf since, which she did not understand. He knew Shawn was now mated. Nevertheless, she figured Daniela and Daniel may have seen something by now.
However, she wanted to wait to start the conversation just in case there was a slight chance that Daniel and Daniela were all focused on other things, so much so that neither of them saw anything.
Then she would have sold them out unintentionally. Besides, that conversation should be had with Ivan and his kids at the end of the day.
Oh gosh, this made her anxious. On the other hand, she felt that she should say something. But what? Jada did not even know how to approach the situation, 'oh, by the way, it's just sex?'
When Ivan had been carrying on like a lovesick puppy. Yip, it was best she stayed away from saying anything at all.
"This is my wing," Aubrianne gestured to Zayne when she entered.
He took one step over the threshold and looked around, and, of course, he was impressed; then again, it was Thornton they were dealing with.
Aubrianne showed Rafael his room, who was following close behind the couple. Jada and Daniela would share a room. How hilarious, unless she wanted to bunk with Rafael.
And Shawn and Kirrah were in the other room. And to everyone's surprise, Daniela had opted to bunk with Rafael.
Apparently, they have been eyeing each other since his speech. He had Daniela's attention. Plus, no one ever dared to talk to their Alpha that way.
In her eyes, one thing had come to mind: 'HOT.' Sephora, her wolf, thought the same.
However, Daniela simply wanted to enjoy his company for tonight, well, today.
Aubrianne wanted to spend the day appreciating her man. However, there was the issue of marking her. Zayne could not mark and claim her until she fully unbonded her powers, and Aubrianne was off on that trip this coming week.
And even though Aubrianne was ready for at least mating, she knew for a wolf, especially a strong Alpha wolf, the primal need to mate AND mark his mate is powerful. She knew she would just be putting a strain on him.
Especially at that moment of climax, Shawn and Kirrah had explained.
She knew she would also feel the need, but him more than her. So, with this in mind, she battled with the subject in the room. How does one announce this out of nowhere, or was it?
Because now her mate was suddenly looking at her as if she was something to eat, and in response to that, her pvssy clenched in anticipation.
Thankfully, they were now in her room.
She took a quick breath and squeezed her thighs shut, which had her standing there looking a bit awkward.
There was a promise of something dangerous, a hidden promise of endless toe-curling pleasure, yes, and that look of someone mad with possessiveness.
She knew it because she felt like it was a mirror of her eyes. Aubrianne had never felt possessiveness over someone before.
Would she suddenly become one of those wolves that growl at everyone for looking at her mate?
Yes, she would! She happily would. "Ok, ok, wait, wait," Aubrianne put out her hands in weak defense when he started to stalk her like a mad beast ready to pounce on his prey, and with each step he took, she took one backward.
Goddess, she loved it; how could someone make her feel all these emotions at once?
"Zayne, listen to me," Zayne stopped at the mention of his name from her lips, and he closed his eyes in pleasure as a wave of fulfillment flowed through him.
And when he opened it again, it was ice and the fire burning within. Gorgeous orange flames.
He resumed his steps, but Aubrianne continued quickly and stepped back, "My powers are still bounded, at least part of it."
Zayne stopped in his steps again, though this time his eyes narrowed curiously, 'Goddess, how powerful was his mate?'
Aubrianne quickly continued, as if it was life or death that he listened, her tone sure and needy, "And I can only be marked once I am completely unbound. However, don't worry. I planned a trip this week to take care of it. I am going to visit Jada's mom."
"Ok, I am coming with you." That was all he said and resumed his steps toward her. She watched him curiously, eyebrows pinched, eyes dimmed, "But are you ok with that? Are you sure you can handle the stress of not marking me if we..."
Aubrianne's eyes slid to the bed. Goddess, she was yearning for her mate. She was burning from within for his touches. To be filled with him wedged deep inside her.
But she would wait if he could not handle it.
