Infamous White Wolf
The crew knew they would be a part of this fight whether they liked it or not. However, they were on board because they wanted to help, just like Aubrianne. A battle like this should not be Alpha Zayne's alone to carry.
They had questions, and Rafael was ready to answer them all, and as they interacted with each other, Rafael thought Jada would be perfect for Mekhi.
They were both hotheads, and Jada reminded him of how Mekhi was with Zayne, and to Rafael, Jada seemed full of antics like Mekhi.
He even wondered if they were mates but shut the thought down as that would be so crazy if they were. Like, who would tame who? Goddess, there would be no balance. He shouted in his mind and quickly shook the thought away.
The thought quickly turned into a nightmare picturing two Mekhi's.
Nevertheless, Rafael was really enjoying the conversation and the fact that they would be getting assistance so that the strain would ease up from his Alpha with their help.
Alpha Theodore Claude Thornton
Hours earlier, when everyone left the entertainment room except Theo and Ivan.
"Can you believe this? Theo sighed, rubbed his face with his hands, settled himself back in the chair, and reclined.
"Yea, he is nothing like his father." Ivan sat beside Theo, reclining in his own chair as he pondered.
Theo's eyebrows pinched, and his brown eyes narrowed. That was NOT where he was heading. He eyes Ivan.
"Aubrianne is so blessed by the Goddess to have such a kind-hearted young man at her side," Ivan continued.
"IVAN, are you serious?" Theo snapped; he pinched the bridge of his nose.
Ivan's grey eyes slid towards Theo, and an eyebrow raised, "Yes, I am serious."
"What's it to you, though?" Ivan could not help but ask. Because what did he mean by if he was serious? Of course, he was.
"Ivan, you cannot think that I am willing to let my daughter be marked by that family. I have worked too hard to get where I am today to have my name tarnished by the likes of those...."
"Theo, what are you talking about? I initially understood your concerns. However, now that we clearly see the proof that this Zayne guy is nothing like Zachary." Ivan raised off from his reclined position and watched his Alpha incredulously.
"So, if anything, you should be relieved. I do not understand why you are still hell-bent on keeping Zayne away." Ivan shook his head.
"Ivan, are you forgetting the people Zachary got in bed with? Hmmn?" Theo rubbed his hands down his thighs, getting a bit agitated that he had to explain himself.
"These people would do anything to get their hands on Aubrianne. If there is only a hint that a White Wolf exists to these people, they will throw everything behind finding and capturing her."
"And then WHAT, IVAN, WHAT? We would have invited them to our doorstep and have to look over our shoulders for the rest of our lives."
"It is in her best interest that she stays away from their grasp," Theo explained as calmly as he could in between some outbursts.
"But she is not in their grasp, though; she will be with her mate," Ivan tried to reason.
"YES, IVAN, HER MATE, in his community where anything could happen." Theo spat in disgust and contempt.
"Ok, is it the location of where she would be, the issue, or the person she is mated with?" Because now his reasoning was not making sense to Ivan.
Was he planning to keep her locked up in this manor if it was the location? Or if it was her mate, was he willing to deprive his daughter of this? Surely there was a better way to handle this.
He was sorry. Even though Theo was his Alpha, he could not get behind him on this one. Because even if the location was what concerned him, that did not matter.
It does not matter where she was. If word were to get out, it would get out, and they would have a hell of a battle ahead of them, with everyone coming out from their holes to locate the infamous white wolf for their selfish desires and wants.
So as far as Ivan sees it, it does not matter where she is; what they should be doing is preparing for what is to come eventually. Or he might as well put her in the dungeons for the rest of her life.
Theo pinched the bridge of his nose again, "Yes, Ivan, right now, things are fine. Right now, we could call him Saint Alpha f*cking Zayne, but what if he decides to reach out to those scums for help following his father's footsteps?"
Ivan's eyes widened, "Or ok, so let me get this straight, you are planning to lose your daughter after just getting her because of some what-ifs? That may or may not happen?"
"Not to mention, the chances of that happening are even less now because Alpha Zayne has Aubrianne. And guess what? Theo. Aubrianne has you, and that right there would be the difference."
"The difference between Zayne and his father is that his father did not have you to turn, so take my silly advice, and if you don't want to lose your daughter altogether, I beg you, do not go down this road."
"Because let's just go with your theory of some 'what-ifs' in the future. Let's say you do this, and Aubrianne leaves; when that time comes when they may really need help, who would she be able to turn to?"
"And by doing that also, instead of protecting her, you may be making the situation worse; when it would have been easier to come to you with her concerns, now she would choose not to, and that is when things can get haywire, stop this at once."
Ivan sighed heavily, hoping to the Goddess his words were penetrating Theo's thick skull.
"Theo, with this action, you might as well be pushing them toward the enemy in the future, again just going off of your imaginary what-ifs right now."
"This is not one of your business deals; this is your daughter's life and well-being."
"Exactly," was all Theo said; he rose and walked out of the theatre, ok so he did not have Ivan's support, but that did not mean he would back down.
All that means is anything about this subject would not be brought up with Ivan anymore.
Ivan looked at Theo incredulously, got up, and quickly fell into step with him.
"Theo, I am really trying to understand you, but I feel like I am missing something. This is not you?"
"Exactly, Ivan! Now I am the father of a WHITE WOLF." Theo roared, and Ivan flinched away at the power and force of his Alpha's growl.
At that moment, Ivan realized his Alpha was afraid. He never thought he'd see the day.
But Ivan was over Theo's way of going about this and surmised that right now, Theo was tired, and they all needed rest.
"Anything you need me to take care of today?" Ivan asked and waited for instructions.
"No...nothing. Get some rest Ivan," Theo sighed, then disappeared down the corridor to his wing. At the same time, Ivan and Kodak were unwilling to let Theo do anything that would jeopardize Aubrianne.
Their eyes narrowed at Alpha Thornton's back as he vanished. Kodak had already submitted to her and was ready to protect her fiercely.
Ivan sighed. He had tried to talk some sense into Theo about his ridiculous plan for Zayne. Ivan disapproved fiercely of Theo's behavior.
He was suddenly feeling so disappointed in his Alpha. He never once questioned Theo to the extent that he was actually second-guessing his purpose of being his Beta.
He could not fathom Theo's behavior. Ivan would be thrilled if a man like Zayne were his daughter's mate. He would welcome such a man with open arms.
Later that evening...
The same crew from this morning arrived at the theater at the designated time. Everyone took their seats like they did this morning, Aubrianne on Zayne's lap, wrapped in the vise grip that was his arms.
Kirrah was on Shawn's, Jada and Rafael sat next to them, and this time, however, Daniel was also present next to his father and sister.
His dad informed him about the meeting that morning, the one he missed after he disappeared. Cassius had murmured, 'Of course, he was a f*cking saint, wasn't he?'
