Strong Team
Aubrianne wanted to be at her best to fight this entity and help take them down. The sooner they can, the sooner they can move past this and get to everyday living.
'Who says it was all on her? Was it because she was the White Wolf with all these gifts? Gifts and powers she cannot even use properly.'
At Jada's last words, she knew she had a strong team with her, and they could help.
By this point, Aubrianne sat straight up, legs folded in meditation style.
"I know what I must do..."
And it was then that Aubrianne discussed the way forward—the way it was meant to be addressed.
She had called in Shawn, and they called Daniel and had him on speaker.
Aubrianne relayed her plans for her mate and bringing down the entity. She explained that she needed all of them, though Aubrianne knew she already had them.
This was a form of reassurance to her soul, primarily where Daniel was concerned.
Aubrianne was not stupid; she knew Daniel had a different kind of love for her, but she was always clear on exactly what they were doing.
However, somewhere in the back of her mind, even though Daniel told her that he would always be there for her. Aubrianne always wondered if he would truly continue to be her friend and have her back.
She could admit coming down to the end there, it was like they'd developed the perfect rhythm.
But things were different.
Now Aubrianne had her mate, her perfect match, and she knew precisely what the ideal rhythm was, and what she had with Daniel was no comparison to what she felt and experienced with Zayne by miles.
And with Daniel, she could also admit to having some incredible orgasms, but Zayne? He was made for her body. Aubrianne felt as if he didn't even need to touch her but simply look at her, and she would combust.
His smirk, intense gaze filled with love, and that hungry, raw, passionate desire and need. His growls, oh goodness.
They were perfectly in sync and attuned.
Nevertheless, Aubrianne was straying in her thoughts. She needed Daniel; he was her Beta, after all, made also to protect her.
They decided they would all rally at Zayne's pack on Monday morning. She was giving herself the rest of the week in training.
Then, as she would be at Zayne's community, Martha would come to visit Zayne's, she hoped. Then she can see Martha the next time, and so on.
While they simultaneously work to bring down Nathan.
Aubrianne had discussed it with Martha the next day, and she agreed instantly, expressing she only needed advance notice to make proper arrangements.
Martha was still the parent of two teenagers, and Aubrianne understood and agreed.
So when Thursday evening rolled around for Aubrianne, and it was another failure, she did not beat herself up and stress herself out. Instead, she continued to push herself for the next few days.
Until Sunday morning came around, and Aubrianne could finally move the water, manipulating it into a heart and letting it flow slowly and steadily back into the basin.
There was loud screaming and cheers from no one other than Jada, but Aubrianne was also relieved. At least she was leaving here tomorrow with the ability to manipulate something.
She was happy.
And as for hearing people's thoughts, Martha had worked with Aubrianne to help her tune them out rather than calling on poor Leia for that. So there was that win for her also.
For her sessions, Jada would sometimes be present, not wanting to be too much of a distraction for Aubrianne.
The guards had continued their routine shifts of protecting the yard and the mansion day and night. Thus far, there have been no hiccups or anything considered unusual.
Most days, they bought food, as Martha was busy with Aubrianne. And on the days they did not send anybody out to buy food, Jada, Shawn, or Kirrah would cook.
Whether it was lunch or dinner only, because breakfast was always a must in the Wilson household, Martha would always prepare a spread.
Now, on Sunday afternoon, Aubrianne felt it was time to visit her mother's home.
The crew had gotten ready, Martha directing the journey. They head over, while one team stays behind to keep an eye on the property in case of sudden movements in their absence.
The other two teams accompanied Aubrianne and the others about five blocks over to Athalia's two-bedroom home. This was where Aubrianne's mother lived before she packed up and left in a hurry, pregnant with Aubrianne.
It was the home where she grew up and where Athalia and Theo spent most of their time.
They alighted their vehicles, walked down the debris-clad pathway, and reached the house.
The Ivanovs owned this house. It was abandoned. It was Aubrianne's great-great-grandmother's home.
Theo had renovated for Athalia when they were together, giving the place a facelift, and the design was the same as Aubrianne's first home in TL.
Her father had specifically fashioned the house in TL to mirror Athalia's old home, thinking it would have seemed familiar to Aubrianne. Sadly, this was the first time Aubrianne visited.
So Aubrianne had no familiarity with the place when she first saw it. Aubrianne felt she was in the wrong place when she first saw the home in TL.
She had an abundance of thoughts racing through her mind about that house back in TL, amongst many things.
Nevertheless, none of those things were what Theo was hoping for. After further discussions, he realized Athalia had already left and had yet to return.
They all stared at the house that looked just like where Aubrianne had lived in TL on the outside, except the paint was peeling away, and there was rubble and debris around the yard.
The garden and lawn were unkept, and the grass and weeds were tall. Most of the flowers lay dead and withered on the ground.
Vines snaked from the ground up the house's walls to the roof, the front door slightly ajar, and more rubble and debris filtered through the door and were on the patio when you walked up the few steps.
There were also two chairs and a small table for relaxing; however, they were dusty and riddled with dried leaves that blew in with the wind and hints of moss.
Up closer, moss residue can be seen on the walls, doors, balustrades, and even the steps. Those little buggers were deep-rooted in there.
Wayward vines traveled the steps. At this time, the sun was out, the place humid, the air void of movement. Even the trees stood still.
Martha took the lead. The opened door sent off alarms. Though she imagined Athalia may have been in a hurry, undoubtedly, she would have locked the door to her home.
On closer inspection, they saw it was as if someone had kicked the door open.
The part for the lock on the door frame had broken off, and the lock on the door itself was damaged.
Suddenly, everyone was on high alert, including the security team. The security team split in two.
One team immediately fanned out and went around the house. In contrast, another group went inside to clear the house.
Aubrianne, Jada, Martha Kirrah, and Shawn stood outside, each wondering what was going on and wondering why the lock had broken off.
Jada squeezes Aubrianne's shoulder comfortingly, a gentle show of support. While Aubrianne stared, her eyebrows pinched, and eyes dimmed.
Martha initially thought it could merely be looters, but given what is happening in Aubrianne's life. She was not willing to brush anything off. They would proceed with caution, primarily where the Whites were concerned.
Soon, the two teams returned, stating everything was clear, but mentioned the bedroom was trashed as if someone was looking for something.
Aubrianne stepped out and walked straight into the home, and just like TL's, right was the living area, kitchen, etc., and left the bedrooms.
In front of her, there was no mirror, but a dusty plastic fruit bowl sat atop an even dustier table.
When Aubrianne glanced to the right before heading toward the bedroom, she saw the living area was bright as the light was seeping in. The team had opened the ceiling-to-floor blinds.
Except for a few scattered open boxes and a turned-down four-foot chair, the kind that sits around a dining table, that side was primarily empty.
The paint was peeling, and a dusty tea cup tipped to the side sat on the mantle over the fireplace.
Aubrianne turned left and headed towards the rooms, walking into the main bedroom, which back in TL was her room, but here it would be her mother's...
