Judgmental Father
Nevertheless, the crew had gathered all the documents that they got their hands on. While Martha was thrilled, she found a mildewed old handbag with a black and gold bracelet.
There was a dangling gold heart with Athalia's initials on it. Martha hid the bracelet on her person and proceeded to help the others.
Soon, they returned to the mansion, where they discussed their findings. They all basically had the same bunch of theories. Even a few guards had chipped in, well aware of the situation.
Then they packed everything as neatly as possible and taped the boxes up, readying them for their travels the next day.
Soon Aubrianne and the crew woke up to another bright and sunny day. Monday was here, and suddenly Aubrianne was the happiest she'd been the entire week combined.
The crew had gotten up, eaten breakfast, packed, and got ready. While the teams, Kirrah and Shawn, were heading to Ragnuff with Aubrianne, Jada would meet Ivan at the airport to hop on their flight to Bliss.
At the airport, Aubrianne and Jada hugged. Of course, Jada being Jada, rubbed her neck in between Aubrianne's while Aubrianne was wondering what Jada was trying to accomplish when Jada asked, "Is this one of the ways wolves show their affection... by rubbing on each other's necks?"
Aubrianne rolled her eyes at Jada and said, "Yes, in their wolf form." Staring at Jada pointedly, as she was not in her wolf form, and Jada was not a wolf.
"Oh, excellent. Well, this would be our thing, as I am not a wolf." Jada piped up, then ensured she rubbed all over Aubrianne and guaranteed Aubrianne smelled of her while Aubrianne pinched the bridge of her nose.
But she could not stop the smile from tugging at the corner of her lips; nothing surprised her anymore where Jada was concerned. Especially with her antics as Jada held her tightly.
This was not the first time they held on to each other at an airport. They were the same back in Clifton. Aubrianne barely made her flight. It was all the same except for the wolf thing.
As Aubrianne was still in her clueless stage when the world had no such thing as werewolves and witches. While Jada dealt with her guilt for not saying anything, she kept her secret.
Nevertheless, Jada was a welcome distraction for Aubrianne at this point in time.
"So, if you miss me, take a whiff of your clothing. I suggest you don't wash it when you take it off." Jada was smiling now like a maniac.
This was their first time leaving each other for a long time. Like the last time, not even a week passed, and Jada was already knocking on Aubrianne's door. Well, pressing the buzzer by the gate.
They would miss each other.
Everybody else giggled at the two of them on the Tarmac. After ensuring Aubrianne smelled like her and she smelled like Aubrianne, Jada was satisfied.
In all her joking around, she would miss Aubrianne; deep down, this was more for her than for Aubrianne because Jada knew she would be long forgotten once Aubrianne hit her mate's community.
And may pop into Aubrianne's mind only when she realizes it is time for Jada to arrive. Jada realized that while Aubrianne had grown to depend on her as she'd taken up the parenting role, she also had grown to depend on Aubrianne.
Jada had realized the truth of the situation the moment she returned to her apartment, and the reality of Aubrianne's lack of presence had hit her like a Mac truck, especially with the deeper bond she found out about.
Nevertheless, they said goodbye, and Aubrianne got on the private plane with the others. Her father had kept his promise. While Jada returned to the airport to meet Ivan and catch their flight.
The flight to Ragnuff was two hours from Wickersville. Aubrianne bit her bottom lip and tapped her feet. The entire flight was filled with nerves.
She was about to enter her mate's community, a community of people that had just suffered terrible losses and pain, and she would be looked at as their Luna even before the official ceremony.
Speaking of which, Aubrianne had no idea when it could happen, wondering if they should be thinking about a ceremony at a time like this.
Nevertheless, she purposed to talk to her mate about the matter. He had told her he wanted to do this immediately, then mate and mark her.
Soon they had landed and were approaching Ragnuff Crescent Moon Community, and Aubrianne's heart wanted to leap out of her chest with excitement.
She would see HIM any minute now. Aubrianne could not wait to throw herself into his arms and kiss his lips. Hold him tightly and bathe in his comforting warmth while never letting go.
She missed him so much, and the nights were so lonely.
Even though she had Jada, having your mate was not the same.
Thankfully, she had been drained using her magic while training all day, which allowed her to sleep all night.
She had imagined their reunion the entire flight. It was all she could think of.
Her nerves and excitement were through the roof. Leia yipped while jumping around and wagging her tail.
Leia could not wait to run with Aragorn, though they would have to do that privately on her father's estate. Their time together previously did not provide for much else because of their horny humans.
But right now, she would settle for being close to Aragorn, sharing in their human touches, tuning in to all their interactions, and enjoying each other that way until she can have Aragorn all to herself.
Meanwhile, added to Aubrianne's nerves, she insisted she made a good impression on Zayne's community.
She purposefully removed her necklace as they neared.
Aubrianne was an Alpha in her own right; she wanted these people to instantly recognize her strength and power.
She refused to have them think she was weak and that their Alpha was mated to a pathetic weakling, already seeing how her father was hellbent on judging Zayne by the sins of his father.
Plus, her father believes Zayne is not worthy of her. What if they think like her father and see her as unworthy of their Alpha? Goodness, she hoped none of them were anything like her judgemental father.
But this is the main reason she wanted to establish that fact right off the bat.
Aubrianne liked the idea of showing the people their Alpha had a strong mate, and she would protect them just as fiercely as he would.
With her necklace removed and stored in her bag, Aubrianne quickly called upon her wolf to dampen it for now, as she could clearly see the effects of those around her, and a wolf was driving for Goddess's sake.
The swaying of the vehicle is what alerted her to that fact.
Aubrianne needed everyone to be alert and the driver to focus on the road.
And as for the members of Zayne's community, she wanted them to feel the power, not cause any harm...
Ok, maybe a little struggle for them; a cocky smile was sneaking its way into the corner of her lips.
Since when was she cocky? Oh yes, she was always sure of herself about many things.
Even though, at the same time, she was unsure of just about everything at times. But, she could see how far she'd come. She was not the same young woman who got on that plane in Clifton Hill and flew to TL.
Aubrianne was something more, inside and out. And she has matured.
Nevertheless, soon the five black SUV's stopped entirely in front of what must be the community house.
"This is the community house... Zayne told me a few members are here to greet us, then tonight you will meet everybody else." Shawn, the coordinator of this trip spoke in Aubrianne's ear.
She was thankful she had him here with her right now. Jada was not there, and Daniel would arrive when his father returned, as he was holding down the fort in more ways than one back home.
So that means he will arrive even after Jada.
Nevertheless, Aubrianne's heart jumped in pure joy as she looked out the window, and her eagerly searching eyes instantly found her mate.
Aubrianne opened the door, jumped out of the vehicle, forgetting about her wanting to dominate, and took off running to her mate.
