Mingle
Aubrianne then headed towards the food tent to grab a bite. The food tents had chips, dips, fondue, popcorn, a hot dog bar, fries, wings, and a stall of fresh, juicy fruits—watermelon, oranges, apples, grapes, berries, mango, guava, papaya, pineapple, strawberries, and bananas.
And in a separate section, there were all the goodies to make s'mores and some other goodies. Marshmallows, chocolate, cream cheese dip, lots of crackers, infused marshmallows (wink, wink), peanut butter cups, flavored marshmallows, and even bacon strips.
Kirrah had joined Aubrianne at the food tent, completely missing her heading there as she was looking at her mate flexing and cutting more wood.
And some she-wolves were ogling. Kirrah did not like it one bit, but they were just looking, and she trusted her mate, but boy, did she want to gouge their eyes right out of their sockets.
Nevertheless, she was so caught up that she had even missed the interaction with Mekhi, and she hoped he was okay. He seemed like a nice guy, and the way Zayne speaks of him, he must be one of the good ones.
No one should have to deal with that kind of torture. It can drive you insane.
Soon, Aubrianne and Kirrah grabbed their meals. Aubrianne stacked two plates with hotdogs, bacon, chips, and cheese dip. While Kirrah did the same.
At the drinks tents, it consisted of cocktails, soft drinks, bottled water, beers, and hard liquor. They had ordered soft drinks and water. Then they realized their hands were full, carrying a plate for their guys.
When a young, beautiful blonde approached the tent, she introduced herself and offered to carry their drinks.
"Hello, Luna? I am Leandra. I don't mind assisting you all with this." Leandra casually spoke, reaching to grab the drinks off the bar table.
"Oh, thank you so much," Aubrianne said, smiling warmly. 'This is the b!tch.' Leia spoke up as if Aubrianne did not have that same knowledge.
Zayne had told them about a girl he had hooked up with recently—about three weeks ago.
Aubrianne did not feel any type of way, as she was busy getting it on Daniel right up until she met Zayne.
But seeing the pretty blonde, she could not help but wonder if anything would have happened if Zayne had not met her. What if he did not need her father? Because that is what led Zayne to plan that elaborate trip.
Even though he had said weeks ago that nothing had happened since then because, for him, it was just a one-time thing. But who knows what could have happened with time?
The green-eyed monster started poking, and the image of the two flashed in Aubrianne’s mind, and she almost flinched.
But Aubrianne, being sure of herself and her mate, immediately shut those thoughts down that were trying to slither their way in to send her spiraling.
She would not fall into that rabbit hole when there was no need to. Since her arrival, Zayne had been by her side, open with her in front of his people, claiming her lips every chance he got.
Gazing longingly at her, there was no mistaking his attentiveness.
So Aubrianne relaxed and moved so carefree yet collected, refusing to let this enemy invade her senses.
The trio quietly headed toward Zayne. Kirrah took the lead, as Aubrianne did not know where he was.
"Leandra, huh? So you are the she-wolf that hooked up with my mate?" Aubrianne asked, as if she were now putting two and two together.
But she was not going to pretend. Aubrianne did not have the patience for that here. They might as well deal with the giant on the field.
At Aubrianne's words, Leandra looked surprised, and Aubrianne said, "He tells me everything..." Aubrianne casually shrugged, "It was one night of multiple frolicking." That was all she said, her tone as calm and unruffled as ever.
Not even giving Leandra the time to even make any snarky comments if she was the type, Leandra's mouth opened and closed, but nothing came out.
Aubrianne wanted to let Leandra know that Zayne had told her.
Nevertheless, she might just get a chance to observe them tonight for herself.
Leandra had come here tonight in hopes of getting close to Aubrianne.
And hoping to drop some comments to see if Zayne had said anything, and if he had not, then maybe they weren't as serious as she thought.
But here SHE was slapping her in the face with the truth of the situation, and suddenly Leandra felt like Sacha.
Even though she would not intentionally try to split them up, she held hope that maybe... Goddess, she felt stupid. She did not even know what she was thinking or hoping to gain, and now she just felt like a fool.
But she could not leave, not now. She would look pretty small, as if she were hurt or could not handle the truth, and she could.
"Wow, ok, good for you. He is one of the good ones." Leandra spoke, "Yes, he is, isn't he?" Aubrianne gushed as they walked toward her mate, her eyes not leaving him as they twinkled in admiration.
As if sensing her approaching, Zayne turned, his eyes searching for her, and when he found her, his smile broadened and his eyes glinted. His eyes then slid towards Leandra, walking next to her, and Zayne did not even bat an eye.
His eyes slid back to his mate, and he stared at her. She always took his breath away every time he laid eyes on her. Unable to wait for her to approach, he moved towards them.
On reaching her, he acknowledged, "Baby, let me help you with this." Turning to Leandra, "Leandra," he gave a quick nod, taking the two plates from Aubrianne's hands.
"Well, I see you have met Leandra," Zayne said, and she smiled up at him, beaming yes. Aubrianne expected Zayne to be cool with Daniel. She could be cordial to Leandra.
However, that did not stop Leia from wanting to slash her claws across Leandra's face, but hey, cordial it was.
Zayne's blue eyes searched his mate's, and he was relieved to see she was okay. Besides, he knew within himself that she had nothing to worry about with him, and he was prepared to show her just that.
As they say, actions speak louder than words.
Soon they found a seat close to one of the hammocks, and Aubrianne thanked Leandra, took the drinks, and rested them down while welcoming her to join them.
Leandra agreed and sat next to Kirrah and Shawn, while Aubrianne and Zayne sat side by side. However, before Aubrianne can settle in, she feels herself being hoisted up and planted snuggly in Zayne's lap.
She had squealed and giggled at her sudden movements, settling into her mate's lap. Seeing the desire and need in his eyes, she kissed him tenderly, which quickly turned hot and heavy as she turned to settle herself facing him, then wrapped her hands around his neck and melted into the kiss as his hands snaked their way to her buttocks.
Zayne squeezed and growled into the kiss as she rocked her hips. They easily got lost in each other's comforting embrace.
Then Shawn cleared his throat rather loudly as the members started staring, but they were in awe and just happy for their Alpha. Seeing him so light and content was everything to them.
And if Aubrianne was the cause, they loved her dearly for it. Soon the couple pulled away, panting, "I love you." Zayne spoke against her lips, "I love you too." She breathed.
"But, baby, I am hungry." She informs Zayne, and he grabs the plate while Aubrianne fixes herself on Zayne's lap, facing everyone.
The community members quickly started flowing in, and soon the field was packed with members on their chairs, eating and chatting away, all surrounding a huge bonfire.
Once everyone had eaten, Zayne officially made the introductions, and Aubrianne greeted everyone and welcomed them to chat with her.
Aubrianne did not want to be standoffish. She desired to mingle and get to know as many of them as possible. She wished to learn about her mate's people.
Everyone had gathered around them, and Zayne watched Aubrianne with love-hearts floating in his eyes. She handled his people with such grace.
She moved so effortlessly, chatting with everyone and knowing exactly what to say to each of them. He admired how she handled a group of teenagers who were eager to meet their alluring Luna.
Aubrianne, of course, spoke about their education and how they maintain a healthy balance between play and school…
