Who is this psycho?
This was indeed overwhelming and euphoric at the same time, to say the least, for Aubrianne.
Since her arrival earlier, Martha had been jolly, almost skipping through her explanations, fanciful as ever.
This caused a giddiness in Leia as she listened to what she already suspected. She was wagging her tail and skipping around as if she truly knew what it was.
Aubrianne hated this. She hated it when Leia did this - knowing precisely what was going on, but Leia would choose to wait for Aubrianne to figure it out.
But she knew Leia knew that she would figure it out, eventually.
It was like Leia was sort of testing her, and honestly, Aubrianne does not mind most of the time, but right now, she does not appreciate this about Leia.
At All! Right now, she wanted to know what it was all about.
Nevertheless, Aubrianne's eyes only widened the more Martha explained.
Her security detail had dropped her off and set up two miles away at a motel after they ensured the area surrounding Martha's was secured.
Shawn and Kirrah also went to the motel, despite Shawn's protest to let at least Kirrah stay with her.
But Aubrianne stood her ground. Martha had said to come alone.
Then, before jumping into things with Martha, Aubrianne took a moment to contact her mate, and little did she know he was eagerly awaiting to hear from her.
Zayne had been glancing at his phone regularly, and Mekhi just had to comment on it, saying, "Dude, she will call when she gets there. Relax." Patting Zayne on the back, a massive grin on his face.
Zayne was far from relaxed and eyed him deadly, and he would not sit easily until he knew she was ok, so he multitasked through this briefing.
Mekhi kept on quietly laughing but kept his cool in respecting the briefing. Mekhi thought this was better than sulking. It helped. Mekhi's happiness for his Alpha.
This situation he was dealing with was getting to him, but it did not take away from his love for his brother from another mother and his Alpha.
He could not help but be delighted to see his Alpha this way, happy and relaxed.
Well, he was not so relaxed now, but Mekhi wanted this for his Alpha. Even though he talked to Zayne about dating and mating not long ago, Zayne did not budge and could not believe Mekhi was thinking this.
And now that he met his mate, he also cannot believe he was thinking that way.
Nevertheless, his Alpha deserved this. Zayne deserved to be happy.
Aubrianne assured Zayne over the phone that she had made it safely and informed him that she would contact him as soon as possible.
"Love you, baby," Zayne said over the phone. "I love you too. I am going to head in with Martha now. The sooner I am done, the sooner I return to your arms."
"Love the sound of that, can't wait. Bye, babe." Zayne all but groaned loudly, and Aubrianne snickered and answered him sultrily. They hung up.
She, too, could not wait.
Aubrianne and Martha were currently in the room Martha used for her magic as she carried on, and Aubrianne looked on curiously, confused and eager as ever.
The room was the same: white and clean, with white candles all around the walls and floor.
Reading Martha's vibes, she knew it had to be good news. So she listened in great anticipation but never expected to hear what she was hearing.
Leia danced and jumped around while Aubrianne stood still, startled out of her mind. Her eyes darted from Martha to her movements on the map.
The last bomb was when Martha pointed to a spot on the map that read 'Ragnuff City' and said, "And there she is, somewhere in this vicinity," confirming Aubrianne's mother's location.
With her spiraling mind, HER MOTHER WAS ALIVE! Martha had repeated it over and over, hoping it sunk in. Waiting.
But at the realization, her mind short-circuited, and Aubrianne's knees gave way…
The news was a bit too much, certainly unexpected, and out of nowhere...
Meanwhile, back in TL...
Alpha Theodore Thornton, Daniela, Daniel, Tobias, and Jada landed on the helipad at the manor.
Jada and Daniel quickly exited after saying rushed and mumbled thanks and goodbyes. Jada rushed into the manor and up to her room in Aubrianne's wing.
Daniel rushed off to his vehicle parked in the main garage, and Daniela awkwardly stared at Alpha Thornton, both curious yet confused at Jada's and Daniels's behavior.
Nevertheless, she bid him and Tobias farewell, thanked Theo for the trip, and rushed after Daniel.
"Wait up," Daniela shouted to Daniel, but he ignored her; as a matter of fact, he did not hear her. His mind was pacing. He needed to smash something.
He lost her as soon as he got her. How could he be so bad-lucky? She was almost his.
'She was almost ours,' Cassius corrected, almost possessively but primarily lethal.
"Daniel!" Daniela shouted into the mind-link, and he turned and looked at her running figure heading toward him, and he just turned away and continued his long strides.
Daniela reached his car and jumped in the front seat in time for him to drive off. And drove off, he did.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Goddess." She shouted as she glared at her brother. A frustrated Daniela then ruffles her luscious blonde hair, flicking it to the other side.
She took a deep breath and said, "I mean, I could guess, but this is something more." Daniela spoke, and then her entire body turned to face her brother, placing one foot bent at the knee flat on the seat. She stared intently at his side profile.
She could see his jaw clenching, and by the way, he was gripping the life out of that steering wheel, so much so that his fingers were turning white. She knew something was up.
His eyebrows pinched together, his nose flaring, and his face wore a permanent scowl.
But Daniela was unfazed.
Annoyingly, all he kept saying to her was to put on her seatbelt, and she would yell for him not to change the subject while still not putting the safety belt on.
Daniela pleaded with her brother some more to talk to her, but it was to no avail, and soon they arrived at her home.
Daniel pulled up as if dropping her off.
Still looking at him, Daniela simply folded her arms and arched a perfectly carved eyebrow as her piercing gray eyes stared daggers at her brother.
Daniela did not intend to get out of this car until he told her what was going on with him. She was worried about him and that he'd have to take her out of that car, kicking and screaming.
Then that would alert their father, and Daniela was sure Daniel would not want that right now.
So it was better that he dealt with her rather than her and their father.
Daniel was not backing down; he simply turned to face his annoying sister right now, arched an eyebrow of his own, and folded his arms as they began their staring match.
After forty-five minutes, Daniel caved because he wanted to be far away from here in his own space, and besides knowing his sister, he wanted to avoid a commotion.
He sighed heavily and audibly, his face etched with annoyance.
Daniela sighed softly and said, "I am worried about you, Daniel…" "Well, no need to worry about me." He spat.
"My mind is already made up, and there is nothing you or anyone can say to change it." Daniel thought he might just get this over with. He recalled how she had adamantly tried to discourage him from pursuing Aubrianne.
Daniela's heart rate picked up slightly in anticipation of what he was about to say next, especially as she watched how her brother's body language spoke to her in volumes, along with his words.
She realized that whatever this was, she would not be able to change his mind, so she shook her head and said in an almost defeated voice. "Ok, so tell me, what is it? I am willing to listen."
Daniel arched his eyebrows and gave his sister a sarcastic look at 'willing to listen' as if that would be all to it.
He sighed, "I am rejecting my Mate because, as I see it, sis, Alpha Zayne Steele, her Mate, is battling this entity, and he could die very soon."
There was an almost hint of excitement in his voice at the mention of Zayne's supposed pending demise.
Daniela gasped but said nothing. Wow, she was honestly speechless, to say the least. Who is this psycho?
