Shattered Heart
Daniel Grey
"Oh, no, gosh, that is not necessary, Daniel. We are big girls. We can take care of ourselves!" Aubrianne hastily reassures. Jada would kill her if she messed up her plans.
"You sure? I am sure Daniela does not mind?" Daniel insisted.
"Yes, yes, I am sure. Now go, hurry up, and get back to me." She purposely said the last part a little breathlessly, hoping to get him moving because if Daniel wanted to stay to see who this mystery person was, making sure they were safe would spoil everything for Jada.
Daniel looked at Aubrianne again with narrowed eyes but said, "Ok, give me twenty minutes. I will be back!"
With that, Aubrianne turned and headed inside. Reaching the door, she looked back to ensure he was driving off.
He was, so she ran inside. "You guys have fifteen minutes. Daniel had already said twenty minutes for a thirty-minute drive, fifteen to go and fifteen to return, so he intended to speed." Aubrianne rambles out.
"Thanks, Bri. Actually, Mr. Grey will be here in ten minutes. Hand me my toothbrush from the bathroom as you are in there. Jada responds.
Jada entered and started packing immediately. She grabbed her travel bag with her toiletries and rummaged through her suitcase, finding a change of clothes. She shoved it in the bag, and all she needed now was to get her toothbrush.
She was ready and waiting for Mr. Grey. However, it was not a long wait as Mr. Grey was already driving down the street.
Soon, Jada and Mr. Grey had set out on their night of sexcapades, leaving Aubrianne to wait for Daniel to return.
Meanwhile, Daniel was speeding to their community to drop Daniela off.
"Dude, are you trying to crash and kill me tonight?" Daniela asked her brother incredulously as she turned her body to look at him.
She already knew he was rushing so he could return to Aubrianne faster!
Daniel laughed and said, "Oh shut up, I won't crash."
"Don't know why you stayed so long to leave in the first place. Aubrianne was practically rushing you away so you would return to her faster, you idiot."
She shook her head, "But no, you offered to wait, and what was I to do? Surely I would have fallen asleep. What were you thinking? I could have ruined whatever plans Aubrianne had for you, assuming she had any."
Daniel absorbed what Daniela was saying. Was that it? Was she rushing me off so I'd return to her sooner? He did not want to get his hopes up, but if given the opportunity, he would not hesitate.
There, indeed, were some advancements tonight. Daniel recalled their time at the club, and a smile graced his features. Aubrianne had clung to him, she had kissed him sweetly, and their bodies had swayed together flawlessly.
Daniel gripped the steering wheel at the excitement that flowed through him at the pleasurable memory.
Aubrianne was everything in his eyes and so alluring. He had wanted her since he saw her in his father's office over a year ago. Of course, he would jump at the opportunity.
But he would return with no expectations. He would follow Aubrianne's lead.
Daniel vowed whatever Aubrianne wanted, he would give her tonight, then said, "Her safety will always come first, Daniela."
Daniela narrowed her eyes at Daniel for a good minute, "Oh my Goddess, you are a goner. You love her, don't you?"
"So, what if I do?" Daniel questioned.
Daniela exhaled heavily. Was her brother serious right now? Acting like he suddenly does not remember HIS preachings?
"Daniel, I am sure I don't have to tell you how bad of an idea that is."
"Why? Why does it have to be bad?" Daniel asked, knowing full well why.
Daniela sat up, looked at him with wide eyes, and said incredulously, "Was it, not you who told me to wait on my mate, not even two nights ago?
Daniel shrugged.
She shook her head and said, "Huh! Daniel...what if you meet your mate? What if she meets her mate? This never ends well. Someone is always left heartbroken...and guess what...it is rarely the mate that gets left behind."
"Are you really willing to gamble with your heart like that, Dani?" Daniela was pleading now. She did not want her brother to fall hard for Aubrianne, only to be left with a shattered heart.
Daniela understood a little fling, but looking at Daniel, this was no fling for him. He was serious about Aubrianne, the fact that he was willing to ignore all his warnings and the history of their kind.
"Daniela, you don't understand. She is different... I...I can't help it." Daniel admits.
"Oh, Dani," She sighed, reached across, and squeezed his shoulders, "So, you gonna just cross your fingers and hope she never crosses paths with her mate? Or that you don't cross paths with yours?"
Daniel refused to think that far ahead because, right now, he was thinking of rejecting his mate if they ever crossed paths, so he could be free to be with Aubrianne.
He secretly hoped he would have enough time to make Aubrianne fall madly in love with him so she would be willing to do the same.
Daniel made this decision tonight at the club, watching Aubrianne's every move. He realized he wanted more than just a Beta Alpha relationship with her. He wanted it all!
"No! Of course not. I just want to live in the moment. Can I do that in peace?" Daniel argued.
"And then what?" Daniela asked, not ready to let this go. But they were quickly approaching her stop.
Daniel parked in front of his childhood home to drop off his sister. He turned to look at Daniela, already knowing she would not drop this.
"Hey, listen, ok...I know what I am doing. I know the risks. I am also a grown man who can make my own decisions."
"It is MY risk to take, not anyone else's. So I don't appreciate anyone else having input on my decisions, especially this one regarding her!"
"Daniiii, I just don't want you to get hurt, that's all," Daniela regarded her brother briefly. She could not fathom how things had changed so drastically.
Daniel was always the preacher for waiting on one's mate. Look at him now!
What was she to do about this? Could she do anything? Or was he simply refusing to listen to her and outright ignoring her pleas?
As it was, Daniel did not even absorb what she was saying because he'd already made up his mind!
She finally adds, "Just promise me you will be careful!"
"I will, but I know what I am getting into," Daniel answered.
Meanwhile, back at Aubrianne's...
Aubrianne slowly paced her room. Jada had left with Mr. Grey, and Aubrianne was getting ready for the night.
She had witnessed how Mr. Grey had faun over Jada, Aubrianne had zoned in on his features, and his eyes lit up in delight at the sight of her, and she realized it was too late.
She was too late with her warning. Mr. Grey was already hypnotized by Jada. She already had him hooked around her baby finger.
Jada had jumped in the jeep, and they had attacked each other. As she watched them, she wanted that in her life. It was hot, hungry, and passionate.
Aubrianne wanted so much to experience things! It was time! She was eager, and the anticipation of what was about to go down was killing her.
Where was Daniel?
Nevertheless, she made a mental note to still have the talk with Mr. Grey.
Aubrianne had exited the shower and got ready for Daniel's return. She had tidied the room as things were thrown about in their earlier haste to prepare for the club.
Then she had gotten dressed, slipping on a lavender-ash-grey colored, thin strap, silk material dress lingerie with black lace material on the rim of her bustline and the hem of the dress, with the matching thong.
Aubrianne stood there, occasionally walking back and forth, her heart racing. For a split second, she wondered if she should do this.
'No, you shouldn't,' Leia suddenly spoke up again.
'You need to wait. Our mate is coming for us!' Leia tried again!
'Goodness, get out of my mind. I am not talking about falling in love here. I am simply talking about getting my rocks off. Can a girl do that?' Aubrianne argued.
'You and I both know it is not that simple, Ms. VIRGIN!' Leia protested, 'That should be saved for our mate!'
