Chapter 11
In the lunchroom, Will and Salomon seem not to know each other and they just could not start any conversation between them till they both finish eating.
In Claire’s apartment;
“it’s been a while so I decided to call”, Susan said freely.
“Yeah it is, I thought you already left me for good though”, Claire said trying to hold her composure and not letting Susan know what is going on in her mind.
“why would I want to forget about you when you didn’t do anything wrong to me and if you did something wrong, I would assume you were younger and foolish then, so I would gladly forgive you”, Susan said calmly.
“awnnn… that’s nice to say, I miss you”, Claire said as she shows her emotional lapses on the phone.
“I miss you too bes”, Susan said.
“Ca… can... Can we meet somewhere for a cup of coffee and catch up?”, Claire said skeptically.
“hope all is well bes? because it is when you are nervous you mostly stammer like that”, Susan said as she shows that she knows some of Claire’s emotional behaviour.
“Not really, I just wanted us to catch up, that’s all”, Claire said persistently.
“ OK then we can see each other this weekend”, Susan agreed.
In Claire’s mind, she already sees the meeting between her and her best friend to be something that could be fruitful in a good or bad way but she has not decided if should use her best friend expertise to keep her brother.
In the prison, Will was just allowed to enter Gomez’s hospital room after he had tried to enter three times in a row;
“Blade just told me what happened a few hours ago”, Will said.
“that motherf**ker still have the guts”, Gomez said furiously.
“I just could not believe what I heard until now”, Will said.
“Will, we have to kill Bernado and his loyalists”, Gomez said as he whispers into Will’s ears from the bed.
“Gomez please don’t let us make decisions like that”, Will said
“Can you not see what is going on?, Bernado is making us the slave of his brother and whatsoever evil that will happen to his brother in this prison, he will also return the favour on us. Bernado didn’t come for you yet because he assumed you just killed ‘the Cannibal’ for him not long ago but I haven’t killed for him yet”, Gomez extensively said.
“Gomez, you have a valid point but I don’t think we should make decisions just yet, please when you have been discharged we could have a proper discussion on this”, Will said.
“seriously! Is that a promise?” Gomez asks
“Yes”, Will responds.
Will stayed with Gomez for some minutes after their conversation until the doctor (Dr Mark) came to tell Will to allow Gomez to have some more rest.
Will left and went back to his prison room as he keeps thinking about what Gomez said earlier.
In Jasmine’s apartment, there has been some settled tension between her and her brother (Richard) but unsettled feelings between the two of them. Pamela already went out to Darby’s place again as Richard and Jasmine have their conversation;
“I don’t know what I have done wrong to deserve all this?”, Jasmine said regrettably.
“Why are you talking like this, you ought to have moved on already because it is obvious Mason is just another older version of his Claire which does not require resemblance but just pure evil behaviour”, Richard lamented as well.
“It seems easy for you to say and yet you also find it difficult to move on with your love life or tell me who else you dated after Claire Rich?”, Jasmine makes a valid point.
“Yes, I still love Claire and we are both in this s**t together, so what shou…”, Richard is trying to ask a question when he got interrupted by the sound of Jasmine phone ringing and Richard put his head in his hands while sitting afterwards.
Jasmine checked her phone and it is a call from Mason;
“Hey, howdy?”, Mason greets
“I’m good”, Jasmine responded.
“I know you might be wondering about the reason why I’m still calling you at the moment”, Mason said.
“yeah, you are d**n right about that”, Jasmine responded
“And you shattered my heart remember?”, Jasmine said
“Jas! Can we meet?”, Mason asked
“Wh... Why did you still want us to meet? To break my heart over and over again? No f**King way”, Jasmine trying to play hard to get this time.
“I’m not trying to break your heart anymore Jas because I just want to clear the air between us and make you understand some truth”, Mason explained.
This is the part that got Jasmine’s attention which made her almost melt in love with Mason once more.
“OK, when and where should we meet?”, Jasmine said
“We can meet this weekend and I don’t know about the place we could meet at the moment so I will text you the address afterwards”, Mason said
“OK till then”, Jasmine responded as she ends the call.
Richard who was hearing all the conversation of Jasmine with Mason over the phone become a bit furious at his sister;
“Why are you giving me that look Rich?”, Jasmine asked her brother
“ I ought to give you a look that is way worse than what I just gave in fact”, Richard almost ranting.
“And why is that necessary?”, Jasmine asked loudly
“Seriously I don’t believe you could ask me that, we are just trying to get past some emotional wreckage that we both found ourselves in and you just accepted Mason within a few minutes of phone call; it is like saying you hop right back on his bed with that call”, Richard ranting profusely.
“It is not so Rich, I am not hopping right back on his bed, besides I’m just giving him the benefit of the doubt”, Jasmine responded.
“It just doesn’t feel right sis!”, Richard loudly said.
“Can you say it doesn’t feel right if Claire should give you a call right now and says she wants to have a meeting with you? would you not give her some benefit of the doubt as well?”, Jasmine responded.
After Jasmine made her clear point about why she also wants to meet up with Mason, Richard went mute because he knows his sister was right because of how much he still cared about Claire.
Richard found it difficult to stop Jasmine from meeting up with Mason which makes him also check his phone repeatedly to see if Claire also called him as well to meet up but it seems it is just a dream for him.
At the other end, Mason who just finished giving Jasmine a call was initially tired of waiting for his sister to set up a meeting for him with all his ex-girlfriends so he took the bull by the horn and said to himself; “I can do this myself, I can set up a meeting with all of them one at a time and apologize to settle things, end of story”.
Mason started the meeting with Jasmine because he assumed she is the one who got hurt the most of them all and he is still yet to tell his sister about his new strategy. Mason believes if his sister should help him at this stage of his planning, it will only be few modifications.
Mason texted Jasmine afterwards that they are to meet at Ray’s coffee shop which happens to be the same place Claire and Susan want to meet as well. Although Claire and Susan will be meeting fifteen minutes earlier than Mason and Jasmine.
Will Claire see Mason and Jasmine together and make her decision for her?
At the Prison, Gomez has just been discharged by the doctor who told him about some things he has to avoid doing at the moment.
Despite all that the doctor said to Gomez, Gomez was just thinking of how he and Will are going revenge for what Bernado did.
