GETAWAY CAR
It's been two weeks since Dieu and Sumire were seen together. Sumire had kept her promise to stay away from Mort. They're always the talk of the place, rumors such as she was now Dieu's girl encircling the entirety of MDA building. Most of the employees were thrilled to see them walking together and teased them every time they pass by in the lobby. From the top floor, Mort's office has been so dark and ominous for weeks that even Klauss is now suffocated by the heavy aura around, but he still endures it.
During those weeks, Charlotte has been acting low-key and helping Dieu to impress the maiden. The young man plans to propose to Sumire.
"Have you prepared everything? The flowers and ring?" From the parking lot of the building, Charlotte excitedly confronted Dieu.
"Why are you even more look excited than me?" Dieu asked, staring at her questioningly but Charlotte answered him with a grin.
"I'm starting to reap the benefits of all my hard work in helping you. With your proposal, it will help me get rid of her in my man's life. Without Sumire on my way, Mort is all mine." Charlotte responded sinisterly and turned her back on the young man while imagining her marriage with Mort.
"You're right, but won't I do it too fast?" Dieu asked as Charlotte faced him and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Of course not. You and Sumire are at the right age. You are both successful. You two just need to start a family." Charlotte said in a calm tone filled with encouragement, which only made Dieu sigh.
"You have a point. I just hope that Sumire won't reject my proposal." Dieu responded and clutch the ring box he was holding inside his pants.
"Who else would reject an Aslanov?" Charlotte laughingly said that Dieu just smiled.
While the two of them were having a serious conversation about surprising Sumire, unaware, three people were eavesdropping on them inside the nearest parked car. Leroy and Lyric sitting in the backseat still had their ears glued to the window car while Narco who was in the front seat, watched intently.
"What should we do now? Let's just let his proposal happen or we'll report it to Boss." Lyric asked and faced his brother.
"Let's just report this to Boss or I'll be fucked up again," Leroy responded by leaning back against the seat and crossing his arms over his chest.
"What do you mean?" Lyric asked him with raised eyebrows. Narco looked at them through the front seat mirror.
"Boss order me to spy and capture photos of what Dieu and Sumire did, but when I returned to the office, he scolded me and cut my allowance," Leroy said wearing a sullen expression while pouting his lips like a bratty child having a tantrum.
"Aww, that's really unfortunate." Lyric said and faced Narco who had been looking at them.
"What do you think, Narco?" Lyric asked and a playful smile curved on Narco's lips.
"How about we help Dieu's proposal?" Narco suggested that Leroy's eyes quickly widened and seated properly. He couldn't believe what Narco said.
"You want me to see my early demise, do you?" Leroy hysterically asked making Narco's mischievous grin widen, reaching to his ears.
"Yes, I mean no. Since you wanna be a good guy, we're going to help Dieu with his plan to propose. Isn't that great?" Narco responded that Lyric just looked at the two who exchanged glances.
After a few seconds of blinking contest, the three of them decided to get out and talk to Dieu, but they couldn't catch a glimpse of him in the parking lot and so was Charlotte.
The triple trouble sauntered in the lobby handsomely with girls squealing around, seeking their attention. They boarded the elevator to the top floor and headed straight to the CEO's office and entered inside. Mort was sitting on a swivel chair while Klauss was serving him a black tea that was as black as the aura that lingered throughout the room.
A pair of stern eyes glared at them. "Why are you all here?" Klauss asked and stood next to Mort while giving him scrutinizing look.
"Leroy didn't do his job well. Now, Dieu and Sumire have made great progress." Lyric immediately reported making Leroy's mouth left hanging open and releasing a short gasp. He looked at his twin in disbelief and couldn't believe his brother will sell him out.
"You traitor..." Leroy said under his grinding teeth and lips squinted into a thin line.
"Good for them," Klauss said nonchalantly and completely unconcerned.
"What is it?" That voice seemed to come from the underworld and conveys authority. The four of them felt the chills and coldness in Mort's gruff voice. The twins were nailed and composed themselves.
"Dieu is going to propose to Sumire." Lyric abruptly answered and gulped hard. He inhaled through his nostrils and exhaled through his pursed lips out of nervousness. He saw his life flashed before his eyes when Mort stared at him coldly.
"And we're helping him." Narco butted in making Mort turn his gaze to him.
"What did you say?" Mort asked apathetically. No trace of emotion can be seen on his face. His demeanor is calm and collected, radiating menace around.
"We're helping him," Narco repeated and Leroy standing next to him couldn't stop but elbowed him on the side.
"Klauss," Mort commanded his secretary. Klauss took the phone out of his pocket and smirked at the three looking chimpanzees in front of them. Less than a second later, a notification popped out on their phone. The twin's eyes widened and horrified when they received a notification that their bank accounts were frozen while Narco was just grinning from ear to ear.
They were about to complain to Mort when they saw the empty swivel chair spin around and the loud thump of the closed door behind them. The twins immediately confronted Narco whose nostrils flared in anger.
"Fuck you, Narcooo..."
...........
While Sumire was humming along to the music played inside her mind, she washed her hands and looked at herself in the mirror when the restroom door suddenly burst open. A tall, handsome hunk was spat out from there with a darkened face, and the flocks of women who were just entering and exiting the restroom apologizes and quickly fled from the place.
Mort immediately locked the door of the restroom and faced the woman who had kept him awake and bothers his mind every single night. Sumire was left standing stunned and watching the hunk slowly approaching her place oozing danger around him.
"What's the real score between you and Dieu?" Straight-faced, Mort asked calmly but coldly. The air of menace around him made her feel the chills to the bones.
"Since when did you care about my love life." Sumire boldly met his eyes that were as cold as arctic glaciers.
"Just answer it, damn it." Mort's voice was calm yet intimidating that Sumire slightly stepped backward until her back kissed the wall as the giant hunk stepped closer to her and trapped her in his massive frame, both masculine arms placed either the side of her head and leaned down on her.
"Take a guess," Sumire responded with a teasing smile, looking up and raising an eyebrow at him.
"Sumire," Mort said in a deep and warning tone, but the maiden's stubbornness reigned inside her.
"Why are you so into it? Are you jealous?" Sumire asked daringly making Mort stop and deeply stared at her.
"I am. And I want you to leave the company if you don't want me to kill my own brother." Mort responded coldheartedly and apathetically before leaving the restroom.
Sumire was left alone, petrified, and speechless in the place. Instead of being thrilled to hear what she wanted from Mort, she was more afraid for Dieu's life. She fell into deep thought and decided to confess everything to Dieu and cut ties with him.
