GAME II
The couple, Chaise and Lunaire were standing near Sumire and Mort while eyes darted at the computer. They all gathered in the living room and positioned at Leroy's back. Different programs and websites were opened, cracking algorithms to gain access to the system. With the young man's computer expertise and high technical skill, he wasted no time and began removing the articles about Sumire's accused crime from different sites and platforms while Narco and Lyric are having fun returning and reposting it in double. Alongside them was Victoria who paid them to stop Sumire's plans to take down all the issues she spread on the internet.
'I fucking knew it! There's no way in hell am gonna allow that bitch had her chance to clear her name. So, I hired the best underground hackers in advance.' Victoria spitefully said inside her mind while looking at the two handsome hackers busy fiddling with their computers.
"You thought you could outsmart me this time, huh." Arms crossed on her chest, she whispered and smirked. Victoria spent millions just to get her revenge on Sumire. The two hacker's services were worth her penny. She is satisfied with their job. No matter how many times the hacker deletes the articles in Sumire's camp, it comes back right away.
"Oh, Sumire. Go taste your own medicine."
..............
"What's happening?" Frowning, Sumire asked, back leaned and looking closer at the screen. Eiryss was surprised to see the articles keep coming after being eliminated. They read countless unsupported slanders about the maiden.
Lunaire and Chaise who also hired hackers were unable to do anything. They stand no chance against the opponent's hacker. They tried to rewrite the codes but it won't work. No matter how many times they removed the articles and shut them down, they kept all coming back.
"They don't seem want to be removed." Said Leroy who pretended to be horribly anxious and continue to do his job, calm and proper as someone was eyeing him in scrutiny.
Truth be told, the three of them are planning to take advantage of the issue and make money out of it. They know both parties will release a huge amount just to ruin, defame Sumire and her reputation and Mort will clear the maiden's name in public using his wealth. Narco and Lyric decided to be a pawn to Victoria and Leroy would help Sumire out. After all, the three of them are the best hackers in the underground. They can modify, alterate system's software and hardware easily. They literally manipulate everything in the cyber world under their hands.
"It can't be." Leroy blurted out, pretentiously acting worried sick. But a cold-chilling stare from his Boss made his spine and bones shiver. He noticed that the man was doubting his actions.
"Where are Narco and Lyric?" Mort asked him and he didn't wait for him to answer his question. The hunk took his phone out of his pocket and call Klauss who answered him right away. Leroy gulped hard.
"Look for Narco and Lyric. Pronto." Mort coldly orders the secretary who quickly obeyed without a word. The hunk then stares down emotionlessly at poor Leroy. "And you, focus on that. Do everything or else."
Leroy gulped one after another especially since the Boss didn't finish his word. The sweat started to form on his forehead even though the place was fully airconditioned, and his heart start to hammer out of his chest. Something worst is gonna happen or God knows.
"I thought you would do everything for my daughter? Why is your men work so sloppy?" Without the wit, Chaise furiously mediated and disdainfully glare at Mort. Lunaire annoyingly looks at her husband.
"Please, stop it. You're not helping at all." Lunaire weaned. Whatever her husband's problem was with Mort, she didn't have time to figure it out. What is important to her right now is helping her daughter. Chaise was about to speak out when Sumire preceded him with her icy cold expression.
"Dad. Please." Sumire pleaded in an icy-cold tone. She stood up properly and was completely tired and exhausted that she could feel her strength would left her any second. Chaise calmed down and quickly zip his mouth.
Sumire left the living room without uttering a word, massaging her aching head, and went to her own room. She locked the door so no one could enter inside as she wanted to be alone. The maiden headed to the bathroom, undressed herself, and soak her body in water. Sumire stayed there for a few minutes, naked under the shower.
The maiden came out of the bathroom, raw and hot naked. She went to the wardrobe and got a fancy nightgown. After she get dressed, Sumire took a bottle of wine and a glass. She is in the mood to drink alone.
"Hmmn, this will do." She uttered after reading the wine brand and walking to the side of the bed. Sumire picked up her phone placed next to the lampshade.
Barefooted, Sumire opened the glassed door and went to the roof terrace wearing a lacy red nightgown with a glass of wine and felt the cool breeze serenading the night. The night's aroma pervades the air welcoming her. The air is filled with sweltering moisture, like a fog, she smelled the autumn breeze air while looking up into the ashen night of a billion stars, the blanket of constellations that stretched to infinity.
Sumire looked down in the distance at the media reporters camped outside her gate and Mort's men are on full alert. Their phantom vehicles barricaded the gate to prevent the paparazzi to get inside.
"Wow, they very are passionate about their job. Even if it means destroying someone's reputation." The maiden in red coldly stares at the mass of people while sipping her grape wine when her phone suddenly vibrated.
After reading the caller's name appeared on her screen, Sumire immediately answered it. "Hi Clair, how-"
"Sumiii! I heard the news. Are you okay? I know many media are waiting at your gate. Wait, I'm calling Blanche. Don't hang up-" Clair, her businesswoman cousin greeted in full of concern. Their other cousin, Blanche, immediately entered the line.
"Sumi! Are you there? Hello, it's me, Blanche." The cousin opened to her making Sumire burst into a chuckle.
"I know it's you, Blanche. From that manly voice of yours. We have no other male cousin but you." Sumire kiddingly said and smiled when she heard the voice of her cousins again. She felt relief.
"Are aunt and uncle there? And what is up with these phantom cars blocking your gate, Sumi? It's all over the news. Do you have men in the underground that we don't know about?" Blanche and Clair asked one question after another without even letting the maiden speak.
"Whoah- wait, easy there you two, calm down. You greeted me with tons of questions. Let me breathe first." Sumire laughed and sipped her wine. 'I miss them so much...'
"First question, yes, Mom and Dad are here. Second, yes I am doing just fine. Third, I have no connection to the underground. It was my..." Sumire's face blushed in red and bit her lower lip.
"Waaahh!! Come on, tell us. Don't leave us hanging." Clair cried out on the other line, and so did Blanche, waiting for what she had to say.
"So? What--" Blanche's words were cut halfway when Sumire preceded him.
"Those people in the black suit were Mort's men, my soon-to-be husband. I am engaged." Blushing cheeks, Sumire finally admitted that her cousins on the other line suddenly went deafening silent. The maiden frowned as she looked at the phone when no one spoke.
"Um, hello? Blanche? Clair--?" Sumire was cut off when Clair suddenly piercingly squealed. The maiden quickly moved the phone away from her ear before her cousin could break her eardrums.
"Oh. My. God!!!! Did I hear it right? You're engaged with that hunk? Wait, you're not kidding, right? Is it safe to assume that my beautiful nieces are on the way? Iihhh!!!"
"Waahh!! You meanie!! You didn't even tell us that you were engaged. Why did you just tell it now? When is the wedding? Gosh! I'm so excited!!"
Waves of questions struck her making Sumire burst into chuckles again. Her cousins were so elated at her news. They are more excited than her.
"I'm sorry. I was going to tell you but you know the issue came up." Sumire replied that her grip on the glass tightened while her eyes darted to the en masse of media reporters.
"Don't worry, little sister. We, your cousins are on your side. Whoever is the mastermind of spreading that false accusation, am going to make him or her taste what hell likes. Defaming a Massoullève is the last thing people can do. I'll make sure of that." Clair said seething with anger. Sumire could feel her fury in the phone.
"I have my men to look for that person, Sumi. So, don't worry, okay? Take care of yourself, always. We got your back. The Massoullève family won't tolerate this kind of action. They would pay dearly." Blanche seriously added and Clair agreed with him.
Sumire felt her burden suddenly lifted. The heavy feeling inside suffocating her since morning. She strides back to the bedroom and lay on the soft mattress. Her mind is clouded with negative thoughts and she has started overthinking. She should be celebrating at this moment but the news ruined her day.
The maiden mumbled as she closes her eyes. 'I hope this will be over.'
.................
Leroy sitting in the swivel chair can feel the ominous aura. All that heavy tension, auras, and negative energy enveloped the place making it hard for him to concentrate. The penetrating and inimical stare of the Boss made his life want to escape from him.
'Damn it! This is bad, really, really, bad. Narco and Lyric can't be reached! We'll be even more fuck up if Boss catches us." Leroy muttered in his mind while his hands continued fiddling on his laptop and sweating profusely.
On the other hand, Narco and Lyric are enjoying causing a mess on the internet. This opportunity brings them great fortune.
"Ha... They won't stop." Relaxed, Narco mumbled between chomping the cookie he eats. He intentionally let Victoria hear him.
"If only..." The golden-eyed young man deliberately hang his word in the air and trailed Victoria. The actress is truly rooting for them just to carry out the plan and successfully ruin Sumire for good.
"If only what?" Victoria's eyebrows raised questioningly.
"I want you to triple the price." Bold-faced, The tanned young man grinned. Lyric, on the other hand, stops for a while sipping on the glass of juice and watching them. "You know our service comes for a great price. If you want to win, then you obey what I commanded." Narco added, smiling from ear to ear.
"You bastard! This is outrageous---" Victoria's face twitch in anger and was about to reprimand them when Narco suddenly released pictures of her paying people to cause a ruckus at Sumire's home and hired trolls to engage in the most outrageous and offensive behaviors posting offensive comments against the maiden. Eyes widened, Victoria can't help but clenched her hands.
"Fine." Breathless with anger, the actress stared at the young man. Narco's playful smirk roused her ire. Nostrils flared, Victoria closes her eyes and calms down. 'Fuck these dirty rats!'
"How much do I have to lose before I can completely bring Sumire down? Whatever, I can't back down now."
The actress angrily whispered to herself and her lip curled in complete displeasure while giving all the unreasonable demands of the two young men that she paid.
Leroy, on the other hand, could not demand much from the Boss. Narco and Lyric were expecting him to get more money than them so the group assigned him to be in Sumire's camp. His hand terribly shaking in fear as the big Boss eyed him critically. The hunk serious demeanor made Leroy feel antsy in his place that he could feel his head would explode any minute through his cold piercing stare.
"Call them." Mort suddenly commanded making Leroy's heart want to jump out of his chest. Slowly, he turned around and meet his eyes glowing menacingly.
"W-who B-boss?" stammered, Leroy gulped.
"You know who I'm talking about." Stoic-faced, Mort responded that Leroy still acting confused. If Leroy was in the entertainment industry, he would definitely wear the crown of being the best actor. His situation is far worst than Narco and Lyric. He is in deep regret accepting the mission and he is close to resigning.
'Thank you for putting my life in jeopardy, Narco. I will remember you till next lifetime...' Leroy sarcastically uttered in his mind and look at the Boss.
"I have no idea in mind what you're talking about Boss," Leroy replied and got his posture back, sounding naive and mindless in the hunk's question. Mort's lip curved into a smirk.
"Then how about this-" Mort had not finished what had to say when Leroy took out his phone and hurriedly called the two associates monkeys with him.
"Good," Mort uttered and smiled at the back of his mind while looking at Leroy's face turn cadaverous pale. After a minute, the cyber battle ended up with Sumire's camp winning victoriously.
