TWISTED FEELING
Her smile was like a sudden beam of sunlight illuminating the darkest corners of the room, Sumire was stunned to see Dreygur in the place. Disbelief is written all over her face when she saw him in the country where she was currently staying. The Davenfords are banned to enter this place and Sumire didn't bother anymore to find out the reason for their banishment, but, surprisingly, he's here right in front of her.
"Did I surprise you?" With his hands thrust into both of his pockets, Dreygur asked in a serious tone. Looking so hot in his fitted shirt and jean, his eyes locked intently with hers.
Chatters and whispers broke the place. They find Dreygur's vibes dark and suffocating. His presence inspires terror in them. But for some unknown reason, his aura is nothing to the maiden. She is not affected by Dreygur's dark aura behind him spilling around. Sumire stood there like a shining diamond on the pedestal. No malice.
"Yes, I didn't expect to see you here," Sumire replied, and flash the sweetest smile reaches her eyes which intensified Dreygur's strong desire to own her.
His urge to hide and lock Sumire from the rest of the world where no one can find her and never be seen again was too strong that he can barely able to control himself. The world where there's just the two of them. And he can do whatever he wished to do with her. Dreygur had been fantasizing about her every single day and night. He sees her not as a niece but a fine woman destined to be his. He wants her all by himself. Dreygur wanted to erase the existence and traces of the maiden he desired whom he has long wanted to possess exist only in his world. He is dangerously and frighteningly obsessed with her. That touch of madness woke the beast inside him.
Sumire felt uncomfortable with the way Dreygur's strange stare was on her. The man doesn't blink and looks straight into her face. This time, the maiden couldn't stop feeling discomfort in his gaze. Sumire faked a cough to bring Dreygur back to his senses. She felt he was thinking deeply.
"Oh, sorry. I just missed you." Dreygur genuinely apologized and hugs her which made Sumire smile.
With darkened face, Dreygur eyed the men watching around cold and menacingly. He tightened his embrace on the maiden with his one hand at the back of her head, pressing Sumire's face on his chest, to let anyone witness she was his. Though Dreygur was embracing her too tight, the maiden did pay no attention to it. She hugs him back.
"I miss you too, Uncle."
Sumire laughingly said and caressed his massive back. She was too small for his massive frame and she almost cannot be seen. The people around them gasped at what they heard. Shock plastered on their faces. They couldn't believe their eyes she and that intimidating man would be uncle and niece, especially the way he looks at her.
The way his eyes cruised on her, there was a hint of possessiveness in it, and claimed her without the maiden knowing it. Eyebrows slightly frowned, Dreygur's embrace loosened when he heard the last word Sumire said. It felt like a needle had pierced his heart and something blocked his throat. He broke away from Sumire's embrace and wears a sad face as if he was hurt by her words. Sumire raised an eyebrow as she predicted what Dreygur would say next.
"You are making me old, Sumire. Stop calling me Uncle. You can just simply call my name." Dreygur gently said and the two of them stared at each other. After a few seconds, they broke into laughter at the same time.
"You know me too well, Sweetheart," Dreygur said in a serious tone but with a strange glint and hope visible in his eyes. Sumire looked around and alerted when the number of people doubled. Pair of eyes locks on them.
"Let's go somewhere, Dreygur," Sumire said and the man nodded, agreeing with her. With no malice, she grabbed his hand and entwined with hers.
Sumire pulled Dreygur out of the mall and headed to the other building with an open restaurant. They entered inside and sat in the very corner of the place where they could see the entrance of the mall.
"Order anything. My treat." Sumire playfully winked at him which made Dreygur smile. They immediately scan the menu given by the waiter who followed them when they entered the restaurant. The waiter was standing, marveled at the godlike beauty in front of him while waiting for their order. When they give back the menu after ordering, the waiter left to prepare their food.
"It's a good thing there aren't too many people around here." Eyes cruised the place, the maiden smilingly said, revealing her left dimple to him. She then crossed her legs beneath the table. Dreygur didn't take his eyes off Sumire who didn't even notice his deep gaze on her.
"Thank you, Sweetheart." Dreygur smiled. Her gaze shifted to him and nodded.
"The pleasure was mine, Dreygur!" Sumire cheerfully said. But her smile quickly faded and her face turn serious when she remembered what she wanted to ask of him.
"By the way, how did you get into this country?" Sumire asked curiously with a slight frown. She's been wondering since the moment she saw him at the mall. Dreygur thought for a moment before answering her.
"Chadwick helped me," Dreygur replied unsmilingly and eyed her meaningfully. Sumire felt frozen in her seat.
"Are you two close?" She asked once more. His answer aroused her curiosity.
"Not really. He just needs something from me and I also need something from him. It's a beneficial temporary alliance." Dreygur deeply chuckled which made Sumire smile the way he weirdly put the words on his relationship with Chadwick.
'Well, my grandmother and Dreygur's father are siblings. So, he's my uncle on my grandmother's side. Grandma was once a Davenford but later become Massoullève after marrying my Grandpa.' Sumire uttered, reminiscing the family's bloodline at the back of her mind.
The Davenfords are infamous royalties in the history of a certain country that is now a godforsaken place. It is no longer habitable today and its existence resides in the dark history of the world that can only be read in the forbidden history books. There are few books available on the black market that cannot be simply bought or accessed by any billionaires around the globe. The Massoullèves had a clean record throughout their existence and it's still a mystery to many elites and businessmen how the Davenfords and Massoullèves had a string of connections. The worse part of it was her grandfather, Don Severus Achaeus married her grandmother who is next in line to the throne of the Davenfords.
'The audacity of my Dad to hinder my relationship with Mort. Tsk. tsk...' Sumire smirked at the thought.
"But you can still talk to Uncle Chadwick more than I do. I've only met him a few times, but you two seemed to have a deeper connection. If he wasn't a Massoullève, I might not have known that uncle of mine." Lips thrusting forward, Sumire said in a sullen expression to which Dreygur let out a guffaw.
"Are you jealous?" Dreygur asked, holding an amused expression as the maiden nodded to him.
"Of course, I am!" Sumire exclaimed, managing to keep a straight face. Dreygur's laughter loudened and echoed in the room.
Everything she does makes Dreygur's dark heart flutter. She's the light in his dark world. And he doesn't want to lose Sumire to any man. He will do everything at any cost if that means getting her completely. Damn, he wants to sacrifice the world for her. And to make that happen, he needs to get rid of Mort from Sumire's life. He is the greatest hindrance in his plan to be with her. And he doesn't want to lose to a mere Mafia Boss.
"Would you like to see and talk to him?" Dreygur asked causing Sumire stunned in her place. Hand rested on her cheek, she fell into thought. She has nothing else to do at home. It's a perfect time to wander anywhere with Dreygur, her uncle.
'That's a good idea,' She uttered deep inside, wanting to get to know her uncle Chadwick better. This is an opportunity.
"Yes," Sumire replied, agreeing with him with an adorable smile, and nodded one after another.
Excitement is painted on her beautiful place. She literally glows like a firefly in Dreygur's eyes. Hands clenched, he wants to possess her, to kiss her on the lips right now. Dreygur felt like going crazy every single second of his strong and overwhelming forbidden feelings toward his niece but he doesn't care. He has to suppress his emotions and twisted thoughts about Sumire who also has Davenford blood on her.
'I don't want to scare her.' said Dreygur in his mind. The maiden might think he has a brain disease. 'I don't want to be called mentally ill just because of how I feel about her. I don't want to be lumped in with lowly humans with mental disorders. I can't let that happen. I am a Davenford after all. We once owned the world. And I'm gonna take it back with her by my side.' Dreygur long said in his mind. His eyes landed on her lips, imagining doing dirty things to his niece.
"Sure, honey. The Davenfords have a small reunion. Chadwick will come. You can also come with me. And you'll see Aunt Zellè Samarah, your grandmother." Dreygur said smilingly. Sumire's pair of orbs twinkled in so much delight.
Even though she doesn't meet her grandmother much because of her obligation to the Davenfords and her country, she has a close relationship with her grandma than her grandpa Achaeus. Her grandmother Zellè sends her a letter and gifts every once a year.
Her ears and cheeks start to redden. Sumire is excited to see her grandmother. She missed her so much. The maiden knows she will have an ally at last. Her grandpa might be the ruler of the Massoullèves, but when it comes to her grandma, Don Severus will be down on bended knees before her. His grandmother Zellè is more supreme than her grandfather. She is wise and no one will defy if her grandma says a word, 'and I'm gonna tell her everything. Let's see if you can do anything about it. Hmp!' said Sumire in her mind.
"Is it really okay for me to go to the reunion? I am still a Massoullève even though I have Davenford in my blood." Sumire said in a sad tone, lowering her gloomy face. Hoping she can go there to meet grandma Zellè. Like her uncle Chadwick, she can only count the moment she met her grandmother on her fingers. The only difference is that she and her grandma exchange letters once a year. Grandma Zellè sends her presents too.
"Yes, it is. You can come. You are very much welcome." Dreygur assuredly said and smiled which made her face lit in happiness. His words were like music to her ears. Sumire was about to speak more when their order arrived at their table.
"Let's dig in!" She merrily said. Sumire didn't waste more time and started feasting on the food. She is starving and puts more dishes on her plate unusually.
"Damn." Sumire slowly looked up when Dreygur audibly cursed while looking outside the restaurant. She followed his gaze and looked in the direction where Dreygur was looking at. A suspicious black car just quickly left. Her eyebrows creased into a frown and shifted her gaze back to Dreygur who felt annoyed in his seat.
"What's wrong?" Sumire asked, not minding her table etiquette. Dreygur let out a heavy sigh.
"I just want to apologize to you ahead if someone spreads pictures of us online again and mistakes us for having a relationship." Dreygur sincerely apologizes and Sumire bursts into chuckles. A lopsided smile formed on his lips seeing her comfortable with him.
"It's okay. I'm used to being linked to others. It's not true and besides, we both know that. The only thing I'm worried about is that someone might get angry at the rumors about the two of us. Like your girlfriend." Sumire laughingly said.
"I do not have a girlfriend," Dreygur responded with a gorgeous smile and eyed her intently.
"Then, that's better. We're safe." Dreygur was pleased to hear her response. He interpreted Sumire's words differently that there should be no malice. Sumire resumed her clumsy eating to fill her growling tummy.
'I fucking knew it. I still have a chance and I'm not gonna waste it.' said Dreygur, rejoicing in his mind. He slowly rose from the chair and leaned towards her. His eyes drifted to her lips, his hand reach the side of Sumire's lower lip and rub it cleanly with his thumb.
"You have sauce on the side of your lips," Dreygur said in a gentle tone and smiled. Sumire's eyes fluttered meeting his intense gaze just smiled at him.
"Thank you." She thanked him and continued eating her fill. Dreygur wanted to jump out for joy. He is thankful to Chadwick for helping him to be here in the country where his family is prohibited to enter.
'I don't want to waste this opportunity. This time, Sumire will be mine. I should call that reporter who I ordered before in Brethren City to ask about my relationship with Sumire.' said Dreygur in his mind. Remembering the time before Sumire step into the world of Mafias.
Lucas interviewed her before at the KCA building, where she was flocked by the reporters at the entrance of the building. Dreygur paid that reporter to ask Sumire that question. 'If I remember that question correctly it goes: Is it true, you're having a romantic affair with Mr. Dreygur Davenford? And she answered it with: What? No fucking way. He's my uncle.- that really hurts. I was hoping that she answered differently. But it's okay now. I understand.' said Dreygur in his mind.
He starts digging into the sumptuous food. The silence flooded their table and focused on consuming the food they ordered. Dreygur keeps glancing at her across the table with a meaningful smile on his lips. After they felt satiety, they both decided to go home.
"You can stay at my house!" Sumire genuinely suggested when they arrived at her place. He still bans in this country. Even though Dreygur manages to enter the border with his uncle Chadwick's help, Sumire doesn't want Dreygur to be mistreated in hotels, if he is staying in a hotel. She doesn't want that to happen to her uncle as she cares for him.
Her home is a mansion. She and Blanche are currently the only ones staying at the place so it won't hurt if she invites him to stay. He is a family. Though, the maiden is unaware of Dreygur's twisted feelings toward her.
"Are you sure?" Surprised, Dreygur did not expect Sumire's offer to him. It's beyond his imagination. His heart leaped up for joy.
"Yes!" Sumire answered confidently. Smiling, the two of them went inside the mansion where they caught up with Blanche who was talking to someone on the phone and seemed to be furious when he hung up the call.
"What is it?"
Blanche was slightly startled when Sumire spoke behind him. When he turned around, his gaze quickly darted to Dreygur. And just like her, Blanche was surprised to see him.
"Uncle Drey!" Blanche runs happily to him and hugged Dreygur who returned his warm hug. Although Dreygur doesn't like Chadwick, he harbors no deep feelings of anger and resentment towards his son, Blanche. His nephew is so different from his father. And even though Blanche's boyfriend is Narco who is Mort's adopted son whom he hates the most.
"How did you get into this country?" Blanche asked as he pulled away from Dreygur's embrace.
"Your dad helped me," Dreygur responded to which Blanche nodded.
"Then, you're staying here?" He asked. Dreygur nodded in response as Blanche's eyes quickly twinkled.
"Yes! I can go back to the Brethren!" Blanche happily exclaimed as Sumire's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Are you leaving me here?" The maiden asked.
"Yes. Uncle Drey is here. So, you have someone with you. Bye-bye!" Blanche responded and rushed to his room, leaving Sumire and Dreygur silent. Stunned to move their feet when they saw Blanche's eyes visible in excitement to leave the place.
A few minutes later, Blanche came out with a suitcase, a red scarf wrapped around his neck, and black glasses. He dressed like a model in famous magazines.
"Bye, Sumi! Bye, Uncle!" He kissed Sumire's cheek and tiptoed to give his uncle Dreygur a kiss on the cheeks quickly and headed toward the door.
"Bye, bye, dear family!" Blanche waved and turned his back on them, leaving the house. Gaped, Sumire and Dreygur left speechless, unable to wave their hands back to bid their byes.
"What? Is that really Blanche?" Dreygur laughingly said looking at the closed door where Blanche spat out. Sumire answered him with a shrug.
"Then, it's just the two of us here. Might as well enjoy your stay!" said Sumire with a smile to Dreygur's delight and shifted his gaze to her. Happiness radiated through him. The maiden saunter to a certain room where he will stay and Dreygur followed her. 'Finally, alone time with her...'
"Of course, Sweetheart."
