Chapter 41: Crazy women and a sexy PA.
GIOVANNI.
The door knob turned and I darted my eyes to the door. The first thing that came to my view was heels. Black stunning heels. I didn't get to see it to the end cos her clothes came into view.
The beautiful silky wear Kiki had on. I didn't know much about dresses but I knew enough to know that, what she had on was stunning!
The black dress with gold pearls on it was an ankle-length dress with a V-neckline. The neckline exposed a little of her cleavage which made a jolt run up my body at its sight. The slit on the dress ran up to her thigh area, just above her knee a bit, exposing the sexy flesh beneath.
When I looked up to stare at her, I was taken away by the eyes that stared at me. Her hair had small plaits at the front that led to a messy bun on her head.
She looked breathtaking!
“Hope I didn't take too long?” She inquired, fluttering her cute lashes at me. I gulped then nodded.
I put down the TV remote, took long strides towards her, and linked my hand with hers. “You look amazing, Kiki," I told her truthfully. Maybe amazing didn't fit into the picture because she was looking more than amazing at the moment.
She looked up at me, smiling widely at my compliment. “Thanks. You look good yourself." Her eyes twinkled. I felt good about her compliment which made me grin a little.
“See, it's nice when you are not being a jerk. You have been a jerk the whole day, you can at least take a break tonight right?" She asked so innocently that if I didn't already know her and her sharp tongue, I would have believed her.
“You just called me a jerk. You know that right?" I asked her. She chuckled, moving closer to rest her head on my body. “Sorry." She laughed.
The scent of her perfume wafted into my nostrils from up close. With the key, which she removed from the clutch purse in her hands, she locked the door and led me to the elevator.
As we got to the elevator to press it open, the doors opened and a woman stepped out. Her clothes were disorganized and a mixture of colors. She had a purple skirt on with an orange blouse and red shoes to match. I and Kiki turned towards each other in sync, agreeing with each other that something was up with her.
She stopped in front of us, laughing crazily while pointing at our linked hands. “You look so cute!” She clapped her hands dramatically like a child, giggling loudly.
“Beautiful couple.” She drawled.
“We aren't couples.” I and Kiki informed her in unison.
She laughed like she didn't believe us. Okay, this was starting to get weird. What's up with this woman? And how did someone like her manage to get into the hotel in the first place?
“You,” She staggered like she was drunk but she wasn't. “You look amazing together. Beautiful couples!” She clapped, excited again.
“Look, madam.” I decided to speak up. “ We don't know you from anywhere but we aren't couples,” I told her and Kiki nodded.
“Oh, you aren't now but in a few days, you would be kissing each other like crazy.” She laughed crazily again, shaking her head at our ignorance. I squinted a brow at her while daring a glance at Kiki.
“She is crazy. Just let her go, please.” Kiki dismissed her talk to be out of the craziness. I couldn't help but agree with her. The woman laughed harder at our comments but this time, she moved out of the way for us to go. We got into the elevator and I pressed the keys. The elevator shot close and I relaxed.
“Kiki, we are here attending this business meeting cos I want us to speak to Mr. Rodney. He is the host. I would like him to invest in our business. So, tag along and try not to lose focus.” I told her.
She cocked her hips to the side and nodded quietly. “I will take note of whatever is discussed.” She sounded promising.
“Good.” I nodded at her. The elevator dinged after a while, opening and we stepped out together. I took a turn and came by the venue. Again, I hooked my hand with Kiki's and walked into the room.
The flash of different dimmed LED lights illuminating the big hall welcomed us in. The dinner had a classic tinge of the red carpet. So, when we walked in, the light was cast on us with the room dark and a song came up from somewhere. I smiled embracing the class as we cart walked in, imitating models with our styles.
“Are you okay?” I whispered to Kiki when I felt her stiffen against me.
“Yeah, I am.” She smiled. “I'm just awed at the setup.” She confessed.
“I know right? It's exquisite!” I mumbled. We finished our carpet walking and another set of people took over.
“Just smile and ignore their gazes, okay?” I advised her.
“Gigi, you are a sweetheart to be worried about me. I know what to do in situations like this.” She tsked, slipping on her confidence. I may have forgotten about her blunt part.
“I didn't know you were this boastful.” I grinned subtly.
“I'm not and I didn't. I was just telling you that I knew how to handle myself.” She replied.
“Well, let's put that skill to test baby cos here comes one of our investors.” I winked at her and she grinned before replacing the grin with a small smile.
Well, let's see what she has in store for me.
