Chapter 43: Boring Parties and Drunk babies.
KIKI.
I didn't know what to do after Giovanni walked away from me. I had finally succeeded in making him speak to me after my offenses from earlier but now, I had managed to upset him again. It was like everything I did only upset him.
I didn't even understand what had happened. I was just talking to Francis and the next thing I knew, he was snapping at him. I didn't get it at all.
It just made no sense.
I walked away from the scene, swimming past the sea of couples, trying to ignore the dumb cat calls coming from the nasty men around me. I found a secluded spot, grabbed a seat, and sat down.
The party had only just started but I was starting to get bored. Parties like this weren't my thing. I had never attended a party like this before, at least as a guest. But now that I do, I don't fancy it in the least.
Common, where is the fast-beat song? Where is the lit dance floor? Where are the hyperactive people?
This party was just too boring. I groaned, itching my hair with my nails. I gulped my drink. I had grabbed one earlier when Giovanni wasn't looking. My eyes searched through the crowd trying to fish him out.
There were lots of wealthy people alright. A lot of them wearing similar suits as him. Gosh, Giovanni was just too hot!
I almost had a meltdown when he walked into the room earlier wearing the wine tuxedo with a little flower in the front pocket. His eyes and hair and every little thing on him starting from how those abs and refined muscles clung to his coat, making him look more muscular and hundred percent sexier.
I suddenly felt thirsty. I didn't need a drink or anything. What I needed was water cos even as I took gulps from my drink, the desire for water was huge. I sighed wondering where I would get one.
Just as I looked ahead from my position, I sighted a waitress walking in my direction with a tray. On squinting my eyes closed, I discovered that the glasses were occupied with water. I shot up from my seat and hurried toward her to grab a glass.
“Thanks.” I passed her a smile feeling nostalgic that I used to be the waitress. Well, I guessed that wasn't my call anymore.
I downed the liquid in the glass in a gulp. Only when I finished did I realize that what I had just had wasn't water and it did nothing to quench the desire for water. I sighed and passed my glass again to another waitress.
I sighed when I sighted Giovanni speaking to a lady. I decided to walk up to him. I wasn't feeling this place at all. I stepped up behind him and as soon as he noticed me, he excused himself from the lady. The lady smiled and walked away.
“Enjoying yourself, are you?” I teased him but felt my balance sway a bit.
“What do you want, Kiki?” He questioned, his tone cold again. I sighed finally done with this nonsense as I took a step closer to him and fisted his shirt in my hands.
“Gigi,” I tsked. “I thought we talked about this. You have been a jerk to me throughout the day, can you take a break already?” I asked him. Then, like an afterthought, I added; “Please.”
His gaze softened and I was able to notice cos I was a step into his personal space, catching whiffs of his fragrance. His tensed muscles relaxed.
“Fine.” He sighed. “What do you want?” He asked as I felt dizzy.
“I think we should call it a night. I'm not” feeling this place. I feel out of place for all these rich people. Can we_" I almost lost my balance. Thankfully, Gigi grabbed my hand in time to save me. “Can we get out of here before I embarrass myself,” I told him, belching lowly?
“Kiki, what have you taken?” His tone was cold. “You are drunk. You know what, you are right. I agree but when we leave here, all we have to do is to go back to the room.” He told me.
“Home is better than here.” I belched again, this time a bit louder. “But we can go for a drive instead. Go for a night drive, alone." I clapped excitedly like a little child. He shook his head staring at me.
He was right. I was drunk.
“We can't.” He groaned face palming. “And I can't believe you are drunk. I should have never left you by yourself." He blamed himself.
“It is fine. I ain't a baby after all.” I told him stepping back. Since I was light-headed, he grabbed my hand.
“You give me reasons to think you are one, Kiki.” He mumbled and I glared at him.
“Don't call me that,” I warned him, swaying again. He chuckled and began to lead me out, past people. He stopped to acknowledge some of the guests he knew, still managing to keep my drunk state by his side all the while.
“So, night drive?” I queried when we stepped out of the hall towards the elevator.
“No, Kiki. We can't go anywhere tonight cos we would still have to drive back here to the hotel. Also, we are both here in Miami for the first time. There is no way we would get to enjoy the beauty now in this kind of state that you are." He explained and I mouthed an oh.
“Gigi?” I called him when we got to the elevator. He looked down at me. “I didn't mean to get drunk. I was thirsty for water so I grabbed a glass of what looked like one.” I told him. He smiled not bothering to reply to me as we stepped into the elevator.
However, once we got in did I start to laugh after something came to me. I burst into a peal of loud laughter, cackling loudly.
Giovanni watched me in surprise wondering what was wrong.
“Kiki, why are you laughing?” He asked, confused. I laughed even harder, close to tears even.
“I was just wondering what it would look like to have sex in such an enclosed space like this, it's one of my fantasies.”
He went silent after that, staring at me in shock.
