Chapter 51: Police and jail.
KIKI.
At this point, I didn’t know what to think of the Fifi I had just met. I still couldn’t believe that the Fifi before me was the sister I had longed to meet before. I still couldn’t believe she could speak about me, dad, and Jojo that way. I still couldn’t believe she could say all that to me.
Even when she had called on policemen to drag me away, I did not care and was thinking about all that she dared to say to me.
My dad literally died trying to work his ass off and get his family back and she dares to slander him in such manner?
“Lock her up!” Her angry audacious tone ordered one of the policemen on duty.
I felt my body go limp at her words. She was throwing cusses, boiling with anger. All that showed how angry she was.
“By the time you spend the remainder of your worthless life in jail, you would know better than to raise your hands, your filthy hands on a person like me.” She fumed, threatening me. “I would have you spend your life in jail for harassment.” She threatened, her lip stretched in a thin line.
She wasn’t blabbing. She had the wealth. She had the connection and power to have me locked up for real. She could ruin my life if she wanted to.
My heart started to beat in my chest rapidly. How was I gonna save myself from this mess? What was I gonna do? But she deserved it. She deserves even more.
“Fine,” I said resignedly. I would just have to let go of my pride and get off her hook. “I’m sorry,” I mumbled. She stopped pacing and the annoying click of her heels against the tiles made the place silent. The policeman who was about to lead me away stopped his action.
“You said?” She eyed me like she hadn’t heard me earlier.
“I’m sorry,” I told her. I was sure she heard me the first time though.
She hissed and took some steps closer to me. She stopped when she was in my personal space. Then, she looked up at me as I was inches taller than her even though she had a six inches heel on.
“Sorry?” She asked with a sneer. “Do you think sorry would undo the things you did? You think so?” She chuckled. Then, she cleared her throat as her expression softened.
“Sweetie, you will have to do more than sorry to earn my forgiveness. If you don’t want to spend the rest of your life wasting away in jail, then, I suggest you get on your knees this minute and ask for my forgiveness properly.”
She whispered. She passed me a small smile before taking a step back.
“Go on, get on with it.” She waved, urging me on with her fingers. Did she think I would give up my self-respect for her?
She thinks not.
I laughed. Full-blown laughter on her face. “You must be kidding if you think that I would kneel for you. Just who do you think you are? God?” I asked her, ferocious.
She groaned, her resolve breaking.
“I don’t care if you have the world, Fifi. I won’t kneel for you. Better get me locked up, immediately.” I hissed. Jojo and Rose came in at that moment.
“Kiki!” He screamed and then ran to embrace me. I put my hands around him, mumbling that I was fine. He must have gotten wind of the news of my arrest. Bad news sure does travel fast.
When I let go of him, Claire walked in too. It took every cell in me not to tear her into shreds the moment I saw her. She took casual strides towards Fifi like they’d been best friends for a long time.
“Kiki, what happened?” Grace asked. I hadn’t even noticed her walk in. She held my arm in worry, demanding an explanation.
“I’m fine, you two.” I tried to assure her.
“Please,” Grace started to beg her with her head bowed. I felt my heart constrict painfully at the scene.
“Please, Kiki is very sorry. She didn’t mean to hurt you. She wouldn’t even dare. Please, drop all charges against her.” She pleaded, nearly failing at her feet if Rose hadn’t held her to calm her down.
“Leave my sister alone!” Jojo started to yell. He started to cry and throw a tantrum. He was crying yet no tears were there. I knew that scene and I had seen it once only when my dad died. He started to thrash around the place, breathing heavily and loudly.
I almost ran mad mentally when the policemen around seized him at Fifi’s order while he struggled with them.
“Let my brother go!” I yelled, tears in my eyes as I balled my hands into a fist, ready to punch the men. Fifi laughed loudly.
“You know what to do, Kiki. Get on your knees and beg for my forgiveness and your brother would be set free.” She tsked like it was an easy task to do.
“No, I won’t do that. I won’t give you the satisfaction!” I yelled, tears rolling down my cheeks as I punched one of the men to let my brother go. He barely winced nor show signs of my hit. It made me frustrated.
“You are so good, Fifi.” Claire laughed. “I like your style. Very soon, she would have no other choice but to do as you say.” She mocked and Fifi laughed.
“I’m the best at what I do, dear.” She said with a triumphant laugh. I stopped fighting and turned around to Claire. I was beyond raged.
“How dare you?!” I screamed at her ready to charge towards her but Rose pulled me back. Grace was already pleading with the policemen who seemed to be wrapped around Fifi’s little finger to let Jojo go but they were just mocking her.
“Kiki, please calm down.” Rose pleaded with me. I took In a sharp breath and looked around me. I was powerless as she claimed. In my part of the world, money and power conquer all. There was absolutely nothing I could do. Nothing.
“Get on your knees, Kiki.” She told me again. My shoulders slumped in defeat with tears in my eyes. I took a step back and got ready to get on my knees, my legs ready to give way with Fifi snickering.
I was about to get down. I was ready to get down, already going down when…
“And why is she supposed to kneel for you?” Someone hollered.
