76: Inappropriate pictures and Unrequited love.

The morning had been going smoothly for me. After everything that had happened since yesterday, I was so happy that I spent the entire night in the office, just working on some documents. If this was the case, then I better be kissing Kiki everyday since she was the reason for this desire to keep working. I didn’t realize when it was morning and the office was filled up with people again. Luckily I had a spare cloth and some toiletries in the private bathroom so I quickly freshened up there and changed my clothes. Anyone who saw me would think I just came in a bit earlier than usual.

I was actually waiting for Kiki to come to work, I couldn’t concentrate on what I was reading because I kept on staring at her desk, checking the time. She usually came by 7:30am on the dot and it was barely some minutes after 7 so I had to be patient.

But then I was pulled out of my trance when a call came in. I picked it up and it happened to be one of the investors whose bill I had been working on the entire night.

“Good day, Mr Giovanni. I am just done with the fax you sent me and I must say I am impressed with your work as usual, It is exceptional and I have no reason to disagree…” I talked with him for about two hours as we discussed the prospects of the new business collaboration that we had in mind. And at a fleeting moment, I glimpsed upon Kiki who was leaving the office quite abruptly after speaking with Judy, but I was too preoccupied at the moment to bother myself about it.

After a while, the door opened as I dropped the phone and I looked up to see that it was Fifi, I frowned. What was she doing here and what did she want this time?

“Hey baby, did you miss me?” She asked as I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, I didn’t want to seem rude. I didn’t know why she would be here when she knew how I felt about her. It was just sickening. All I wanted was to be with Kiki and kiss her as m uch as I can and yet I am stuck with the girl that I am being forced to be with.

“Wow, honey. Did my beauty leave you speechless? You have just been staring at me?” She said turning around slowly as I loosened my tongue and said,

“What are you doing here? Who called you here? I don’t want you coming to the office when I am clearly busy.” I said rudely hoping that she would just leave and ignore any more confrontation but she continued to attack me.

“I should leave? So that I won’t see the disgusting things that you are doing behind my back, is that right?” She said as I frowned, biting my lips.

“What are you talking about?” I couldn’t stop myself from asking her as she reached her hand inside her bag and brought out something and threw it on my table.

Dumbfounded, I reached for it and I saw that it was inappropriate pictures of Kiki and I. How did this get into her hands? And a more disturbing thought was who could have taken these? Who would even dare to?

“Where did you get this from?” I asked as she threw her bag down on the table and walked to face me as I stood up and turned leaning on the table.

“Is that what you are concerned about? You aren’t even sorry that you cheated on me and I caught you and all you are thinking about is how I found out? You are unbelievable and despicable.’ She said as I sighed and said,

“You already know that I do not love you. I told you times without number that I am not that guy for you. You are forcing yourself on me. I do not care about your feelings for me at all, I so not want it neither do I want you, I’ve told you this scream times and you keep acting deaf.” I said and she took a step back as she blinked back the tears tjat were obviously threatening to fall.

“I know why you are behaving like this. It is because of that girl out there, she has been filling your head with empty promises and you think she loves you. Can’t you see that she is just after your money?” She said causing me to roll my eyes.

“I don’t think you’re in the position to determine who’s a gold digger and who isn’t. It’s shouldn’t even be your business. Can you just leave, please?” I asked as I was ready to kick her out but then she had other plans as she held my hands.

“Do not be hasty. It is me after all. I know I can make you happy, we are peas of the same pod. We have the same class. We can be happy, we are a good couple. Forget about that church rat. She has nothing to offer you. Just give me a chance to love you, let me in. I know that I am the right one for you.” She said as I shook my head.

“I am sorry Fifi but you know that there is no way for us to actually be together, it’s so one sided, it’ll never work. Please leave, you are distracting me,” I said as I proceeded to just sit down but she threw her hand around my neck and the next thing I knew, she was kissing me.

I was stunned for a moment because I wasn’t expecting that and I was too stunned to say anything nor even do anything, I didn’t want to push her at first because I didn’t want her to be hurt but I was hoping that she would see that she was unable to get a response from me and would stop on her own. After a while, I had to push her off me bit she only looked at me in the eyes and instead of being hurt, she was smiling widely,

“Why are you smiling? What is so funny?” I asked as she shook her head and said, “Have a nice day at work. I will be leaving now.” With that she gave me a peck on my cheek and walked away in a triumphant manner and I couldn’t help but think,

Could this girl be crazy or something?
