14. Hurt

It was way past midnight when I decided to go to my room. These heels were killing me.

"Father, I will retreat now as I am so tired. I'll see you in the morning. I want to know more about our kind."

"Sure, Mio figlia! Go, I will take care of the guests," he said, kissing my forehead.

I smiled at him, and I walked out the door.

As soon as the door closed behind me, I took off my uncomfortable shoes.

"Uhh! These evil things will make me break my legs."

A loud laugh made me turn around and take a fighting position.

"Leon?! What the fuck? You scared the shit out of me! Where have you been? I haven't seen you all evening!"

"I'm so sorry, Amaya, I had something to take care of. But I am here now. Come with me, I have something to show you!"

He smiles at me and grabs my hand.

'What is with all of these people pulling me around?' I thought.

'They just care for you, Amaya!' Ivy said through the mind link.

I smile at her words.

"Is it Ivy? Is she talking to you?" Leon asks.

"Yeah... she is."

"Good! Even if your bond is not strong enough, this is a good sign. It won't be long till you get to your maximum power."

I look at him confused, not knowing what to say.

"You will find out soon, Amaya, don't worry! Ivy and I will take care of you."

"Thank you, Leon!"

We walked for another thirty minutes before he came to a halt. I know we were out of our pack's territory but didn't say anything.

"Here! Look!" he said, and I froze in my place.

There was a lake, but its water was different; it was purple. Dark blue flowers were everywhere, making this place look surreal.

"Wow!" was all I could say.

"Do you like it? It is said that this was the place where one of the first gods' daughters fell in love with a human. The War God killed her after she..."

"After she gave birth to a daughter. Celestia."

"How do you know that?" he asks, confused.

"Well, remember when I told you that I am a Guardian of...?"

"... of Celestia! You were talking about Celestia?" he asks, looking at me with wide eyes.

"Yeah! Evolet is a descendant of her!"

"Then, you should know about her sister, our Goddess, Selene, the Moon Goddess."

I shake my head.

"I don't! We know that Celestia was a single kid."

"I see... well, she wasn't!" he said, a bit disappointed.

"Hey! It doesn't mean I don't like your Goddess. It's just new for me. But I want to learn. Will you tell me someday?"

His face brightened, and he smiled at me.

"Of course I will!"

"Thank you, Leon! Should we take a seat? My legs are killing me!"

"Sure! Come, there is a swing on the other side of the lake."

We went to the swing and sat down. Everything seemed so magical.

"I hope my mate will be just like you!" I said before I could think.

He started laughing and placed an arm over my shoulder, allowing my head to rest on his.

"I'm sorry... I..."

"No worries, Amaya! I know what you meant! I can say the same thing. You are like a sister to me. And I can say I love you like one!"

"I love you too, Leon! As my brother." I said and kissed his cheek.

It was so good to know I have someone that I can trust.

"Leon? I need you to do something for me."

"Anything!"

"I want to see Oren just one more time. Take me where you found me!"

"Ok, but just this time!"

Some noise coming from the forest made both of us jump on our feet.

"Stay here!" Leon said and shifted in his Dark brown wolf.

He disappeared into the forest but came back after a couple of minutes.

"What was it?"

"I don't know, Amaya! I never smelled that scent before. We better go back."

"You are right. We should rest."

Oren pov.

After an hour break, we continued our journey.

In no time, we arrived at the Water Kingdom.

"Prince Oren, what are you doing here?" One of the border patrols asks, recognising me.

"I need to find something, or better yet, someone. So, can you let us pass?"

"Of course!" He said and stepped aside.

"She went that way!" I said and ran in the same direction as Amaya did a few days ago.

In no time, I got to a stream.

"The tracks are ending here. What happened. She can't just disappear!" I shout, annoyed.

"Oren, calm down. We will find her." came Willow's calm voice.

"Fuck, Willow! Stop lying to me! You know as well as me that we won't!"

"Oren! If you dare yell at my wife one more time, I will drown you in that river and tell your parents that you ran away with Amaya! Do you hear me?" Titus' deep voice came from behind Willow, who was now kissing him.

"I'm sorry, man! I just..." I started leaning towards a big tree, but I didn't finish as everything went dark.

I woke up in a forest.

'What the fuck?' I thought, looking around for Willow and Titus, but they weren't there.

I start running, shouting their name and leaving clues behind so I don't get lost.

I was running for about forty minutes when I heard it—the most beautiful voice.

"Amaya!" I said softly. " I found you, my love!"

My feet were moving on their own while my eyes were searching everywhere for her.

But I came to a halt when I heard her say something that I will never be able to take out of my head.

"I love you too, Leon!"

My heart was shattered, my ears felt like they were bleeding, and my legs almost gave up.

I turn around and start running with tears streaming down my face.

"She loves someone else!" I said to myself, keep running.

Suddenly, everything went dark again.
