27. Fighting

I opened my eyes and realised that I am in the same place where I was the first time when I went to the other Realm.

Thinking that I was too wounded to make it to the Fire Kingdom, I decided it would be better to go home... to the Water Kingdom. Hopefully, my grandmother will be able to help me with my injuries.

I let Ivy take complete control, and I took the back seat.

My heart was aching for my friends and father, but I will do everything to get them out of there. Everything!

Getting close to the border, I shifted back and walked to the three guards patrolling there.

"Who are you?! And what do you want?" One of them asked when he noticed me. He was ready to attack. Even now, when the war was over, they were prepared for everything.

"Is it me, Amaya, the healer," I said, hoping they will recognise me.

"The healer? I don't know you!"

I was barely standing on my feet, so this time waste was annoying me.

"I'm The Guardian of Celestia!" I said and made an ice arrow.

Their eyes widened in realisation.

"Oh, that Amaya! Of course, I know you! Come!" he said, gesturing for me to follow him.

"I will show you to King Kano if he is the one you are looking for."

"I prefer to visit my grandmother first. I'm sure she is worried about me."

He nodded his head, and we started walking.

"Here you go! It's a pleasure to see you back!" he said and left.

I stand there for a second, looking at the door, realising how much I missed home.

I finally decided to knock, and exactly how I expected, my grandmother opened the door.

"Amaya?" she asks with tears in her eyes, not believing that it was me.

"Hi, gran!" I said softly and smiled at her before I fell to the ground.

I wake up at the sound of my grandfather's voice.

"Oh, Amaya! You are awake! I've been so worried about you. Now with this beast inside of you it is hard to know what to do to help you."

"Beast?!" I ask, annoyed by her words.

"SHE is not a beast! Besides, I would have been dead if not for her."

"Hmm... I see." My grandmother said, pouring some hot tea for us.

"So I guess you meet Giovanni..." she turns around, facing me.

"I did! I did meet my father. But he is in trouble!"

"Well, Giovanni was always in trouble."

"Maybe you are right, gran! But this time it is serious."

I told her everything about what happened and the reason for which I am here.

"So that means that you are a Queen. Are you going to go back then?"

"I need to! If not, all those innocent people are going to suffer as well as my father and friends."

I said, looking in her teary eyes.

"Just promise that you will be careful."

"I will, gran! I promise! Now I will go take a shower as I need to go see Evolet."

I run through the forest in wolf form, not caring if anyone sees me.

I couldn't wait to see them.

As soon as I get to their border, I shift and change the clothes I was carrying with me.

Being so excited to meet my old friends again, I started running, wanting to get there as quickly as possible.

The palace came into my view, and I approached the gates only to be stopped by a guard.

"Good day, young lady! Is there anything I can do for you?" he asks politely.

"Good day, sir! I am here to see Evolet."

"I see... And who are you, if I may ask?"

"I'm Amaya! Evolet's Guardian and good friend." I said with a smile on my face.

"Come with me; then I will show you to the garden."

"Oh, no worries, sir! I know my way there. Thank you so much, though!" I said and gave him another smile before I started running again.

I could hear them chuckling and laughing, and I pushed harder to get to them.

But when I got closer, everything turned dark.

Something dripping on my face wakes me up. I opened my eyes and jumped on my feet, ready to fight, but there was nothing.

When I looked around me, all I could see were rocks. I was in a cave. A dark, wet cave.

I ran outside, trying to figure out where I was, but I didn't recognise the place. The sun was up, and by its position, I was saying it was about noon.

'Ivy? Are you there? Where are we? What happened to us?'

'I'm here, Amaya! I'm sorry I wasn't able to take us back to Elemental Realm. But I'm still too weak.' she said in a low and sad voice.

'What do you mean? I was there a minute ago! I could hear their laughter.'

'Amaya, you passed out as soon as I came back. Do you remember when you were fighting Mateo?'

'Yeah.'

'Well, I took control because you were not responsive. I brought us here after failing to get back to the other Realm. You were out for months. And I am weak because I've been trying to keep you alive.'

"Months?!" I shout.

"But how is this possible?"

'I don't know. But I think it has something to do with that substance that they injected you with.'

``We need to get back for them. For my father and my friends, Ivy! With or without help. And if it is true that I have been out for months, then we need to do something right now. Hopefully, it won't be too late.'

'I know how you feel, but please think that I am weak. I will not be of much help.'

'I know, Ivy! But there is no time! I need to take them out of there. Otherwise, who knows what that insane Alpha will do to them.'
