41. Talia Ricci
I look at her, annoyed and confused. How is it happening that she has no scent? And worse than this, all of the ones that were with her were the same, scentless.
"Of course I come. I have missed you so much!" I said sarcastically and took a step in her direction.
The little girl behind me started crying when Cora shouted at me.
"I would have killed you long ago if it wasn't for that stupid brother of mine. But now, what can I do? I need to take you back to your Mate!"
"Mate?! He fucking rejected me five years ago! I am not his Mate or his surrogate bitch! Let this get in that thick skull of yours, Cora!"
She clenched her fists, looking me in the eyes. I could see that she will not give up without a fight. But neither was I.
"Take them!" She ordered her men.
"Stay the fuck away from them, you assholes! Or I will have an ice pole stuck in your head!" I shouted while ice arrows were forming in my hands.
They took a step back, visibly scared of what was happening in front of them.
"Oren, get them out of here!" I said to him, without taking my eyes from Cora.
"Oh! So this is the lover, uh? It seems to me that history is repeating. Stupid elemental with two stupid men running after her! I am wondering if you will end up like that whore of your mother, Talia, locked up for half of her life!"
"Do not even fucking dare to repeat her name! You know nothing about my mom!" I shout in anger. But then I realised what she said.
My legs almost give up while processing the news. Are they locked up? Is she still alive?
"Oh, wait! You thought that she was dead? This is even better than I expected!" She said with evil laughter.
"Fuck you, Cora! You are lying! She is no captive!"
"But she is. Because I keep her there now, finishing my father's job! Well, kind of. Cos I only torture her."
My blood was boiling, and my hands were shaking in anger.
"Oren! Now! Go!"
"But, Amaya!"
"No, Oren! You know what you have to do! We spoke about this already." I said, creating an ice wall between Cora and us.
I didn't trust that bitch, so I know that if I look away for one second, she will try to kill me immediately.
"I trust you, Oren. I trust that you will take them there safely. I will hold them busy so you can get far away from here. Run and do not look back!" I said, looking at the women at the end.
I turn back to Oren and cup his cheek.
"I love you, Oren!"
Before he could say anything, I let the wall down and created another one behind Oren and me.
"I love you too!" I heard him shouting before they started running.
"Oh, look at them, they look like little ships! Go after them!" Cora shouts at her men again.
Before they could do a step, ice arrows stuck into their legs—all except Cora.
"You still have a chance to leave, Cora!" I said, getting ready for the actual fight, as I knew she would not give up.
"I would not be so confident in your place, little girl! You see, you know nothing about me while I know everything about you." She moves her hands, and I feel the wind shift around me.
The men that we're now on the ground crying in pain start choking. My eyes widened when I realised that she was like me. Half wolf and half elemental. She could control air; that's why their scent could not be sensed.
"Do not be that surprised! It would help if you figured it out by now. But maybe you are more stupid than I thought. Now let me tell you a short story before I kill you! I decided to do just that. My brother will know that you killed all our men and tried to kill me too, but miraculously I survived." She starts laughing and choking her men to death. They collapsed to the ground one by one.
"You are sick, Cora! Sicker than your brother." I said with venom sipping out of my mouth.
"Shut up! Do not call me sick, you bitch! Let me tell you how your amazing mother killed mine!"
She took a deep breath before starting to speak again.
I let her tell me as I was curious to know how mom got to be captive for almost twenty-five years.
"There was a nice girl named Lilith. She could control the air, an air elemental. One day wandering alone through the forest, she wakes up here, in an unknown world. Scared to death, she runs till her legs give up and end up here, to the Black Moon Pack. Of course, this was not a coincidence. Fascinated by this world, she decided to remain here, only to fall in love with my father, the Alpha. They got married and had Mateo and me, but a few years later , another elemental got here. Your mother. She was my father's Mate. So you know what happened?"
"No, this is not true. She was my father's Mate!" I yelled at her.
"No, Amaya! At least not yet. When she found out about my mom and us, she rejected my father. This drives him insane. He killed our mother for yours. But even then, she wasn't happy. She starts seeing the Alpha of Blood Moon Pack, saying that he is her True Mate. Indeed he was. He was her second chance, Mate. But this only made my father worse than before. He knew that she was pregnant and tried to kidnap her. But the bitch git away and never came back. This till my father figured a way to get into your Realm. You were about three at that time. Since the day of her disappearance, she has been held hostage by him. Then after he died, I continued the business.
Now is your time when I need to take care of you!"
Suddenly I could not breathe.
My lungs were hurting while I was holding my throat with both of my hands, trying to let the air in. But to no avail. She was stronger than me.
My vision blurred, and I collapsed to the ground.
Before my system shuts down completely, I see someone pushing Cora to the ground.
"Amaya!"
