Chapter 44 Defeated

Amaya pov

When I took Evolet hand, I instantly connected to her power. It was stronger than before. I knew immediately this was the Aether.

"Let's play, then!" was all I could say.

She nodded her head."Don't try to save me, Amaya! I promise I'll do my best! But if my death is truly the only option to end this, I won't hesitate. Tell my family I love them! And please, look after Blaze!"

She gave me a small smile and I left the already damaged barrier between us and Aalto down, only to create another one that separated the three of us from the others.

Everyone was looking at us, not fighting anymore. They wanted to see what's happening.

A battle between Gods wasn't something you see every day.

"Ohh! Look I'm so scared now! She has her Guardian! "Aalto said gesticulating like a little girl.

"Shut that ass hole, I can't stand the smell!"

I laughed at Evolet. I never imagined she can talk like that.

It seems like this infuriated Aalto, as he sent red light in our direction again, followed by flames and ice arrows.

Evolet stopped the light with ease, while I tried to put off the flames with my element's help, then I create an ice wall in front of us.

Aalto melts it down in a second while throwing another red light, much bigger this time, and froze my legs. Just before he could from my hands too, I let go of Evolet 's.

She looked at me worried! But I nod at her reassuring her I'll be fine.

She blocked his attack, and the ones after that, but I could see she's tired.

"Evolet! Let me out of this! I can help you!" I said looking at the ice that keeps me in my place.

"No, Amaya! I'm sorry! It's the time! You did your part! Don't blame yourself! Just know that you too are family to me. Take care of Oren!"

"Noo!Evolet! Please! Let me help you!" I yelled when she moved the barrier so I will be out of it, among the others warriors.

The ice around my hands and legs melted.

"Let me in! Please! "I said hitting the barrier with my fists.

"Amaya, baby! You're ok! Please calm down! There is nothing we can do! Is her choice! Her battle! "Oren said with teary eyes.

Tears were running down my face! 'Why she didn't let me help? '

Evolet pov

I knew I couldn't fight for too long. My hands were trembling and my legs were barely holding me up. The blood from my ears was now dried and my chest felt so heavy. I need to end this now!

"So Aalto, what do you say? Any last words? " I said mockingly, trying to gain some time to catch my breath. I can see he is tired too, but I know he won't just give up like that.

"I think you should say your last words, Zephyrine! You will be the one to die today! "

"Will see about that!" I said and send my light in his direction, aiming for his heart.

He blocked it but didn't expect the burning stones coming from behind the light. He managed to block most of them, but few hit their target.

His anger grew visible, and he attacks me with ice."Die, you bitch!"

I block all of his ice, and when I was about to attack him again, I heard the voice I love the most.

"Evolet!Little flower, please, don't do this!"

Blase was trying to come through the barrier, but he couldn't. Tears flooding his eyes.

"You're alive! Thank Goodness! "

He kneels begging me to let them help me. But I'm sure they all knew I won't.

"I love you!" I said softly, hoping he can read it on my lips.

"I love you too, little flower! But let me in, let me..."

"Aaaa! "I scream at the burning sensation in my chest.

"Evolet! Let me in!"Blaze said with desperation in his voice and tears spilling from his eyes.

"I'm so sick of this! 'I love you! I love you! '  That's all you know! You will be dead soon! So what's the point? Hmm?"Aalto said from behind me.

I looked down to see that a tree root pierced my shoulder and was wrapped around my chest.

I lift my head to watch Blaze. He was still on his knee hitting the barrier, which was now pretty damaged. It won't hold for long.

Aalto came in front of me. Blood was coming out my mouth now."Are you jealous 'Aalto? Jealous that no one's telling you 'i love you '?Is that's it?"

"You're so stupid to think that Zephyrine! What do I need love for when I can have every woman I want. Even you! Remember when I said I'll make you mine in front of your lover? Well, look around you! This will be ten times better! All your family will witness this now!"

"No!"Blaze yelled. My heart ached at the pain in his voice, but I couldn't be weak now!

I spit on his face."Fuck you! "

"Oh yeah! You will!" he said coming closer. He grabbed my hair, forcing my head to the side, and kissed my neck.

I gag when feel his tongue on my skin.

He slapped my face and his hands moved to my breasts grabbing them.

I shifted, trying to push him away, but to no avail. I was weak. And the root from my shoulder didn't help me.

Tears were streaming down my face. I looked at Blaze who was trying everything to break the barrier. I wished I could let him come and save me. But I knew if I did, he will die. They all will.

Aalto ripped my blouse and his mouth move between my breasts, going down to my stomach. I swallowed hard trying not to vomit.

I look again at my family. They were all on their knees. He reaches for my pants and I closed my eyes, clenching my fists. And then I felt it!

The dagger. I still have it. Blaze gave it to me when he was hurt.

But I can not move my hands. The root is wrapped so tight around me.

Aalto pulled down my pants.

"You bastard! I will kill you! You monster! "Came Amaya's voice. There was something in her eyes. Something I have never seen before. Her eyes were glowing gold, and her nails elongate.' What's happening to her?'

The barrier was half down. Few more minutes and then will fall completely. She tried to jump over it. Animalistic sounds came out of her mouth. Everyone stepped back. Even Oren.

I turn my attention back to Aalto. He was taking his pants off.

"Aalto! Won't be better for you to lay me down?"

He looked at me hesitantly.

"What are you planning? "

"Nothing! I mean what can I do in this situation? Look at me! I can't move!Aaa!I see you're afraid of me!" I said playing with his ego.

"Afraid?!Of you? You're stupid to think I am afraid of anything! Especially of a woman! One tied with a tree root! " he laughed.

He moved his hands to control the root, so he put me on my back, on the ground. Then he took his pants off and leaned over me.

"You will behave! Otherwise, I'll kill them!"He placed his left hand near my head on the ground and tried to position himself.

'It's now or never! 'i thought, thinking I won't be able to live with myself if he touches me.

I focused on the Aether with the last drop of power I had inside me. I feel the dagger move slowly in my sleeve. I push harder, focusing on my family sobs, feeling anger feeding my power. I thought about my mother, Noelani, about my father, Kai. About everyone that suffered so much loss during this war.

Then I heard it! I heard Aalto voice full of pain. He dropped off of me. The dagger stuck in his heart. The light in his eyes was fading away. But he tried to control the root once again, to make it pierce my heart.

The root was scratching my skin. But then, from no were, a huge black wolf with familiar eyes bite his neck.

He was defeated!

Aalto was dead!

The wolf looked at me, sniffing the air, then licked my face and run to the forest. I watch it till I couldn't see it because of the trees.

"Evolet! "I heard Blaze yelling before darkness enveloped me. I was so tired.
