It wasn't about to go down.
Frankly she was tired and the drama was unnecessary. They were all adults and they could talk it out. It would be immature to behave like this, she was going to say her part and if they didn't want to listen it was fine she had said she wanted to say and was moving on.
Her life going fine and she will do anything to keep it that way.
"I need to say something, so Lindsay and I actually have a past together, and it didn't end do well.... you know"
"No I don't know this is the first time I'm hearing of this. Is this going to be a problem?"
"No not at all I plan to talk to her and just smoothen things out, but I don't have her number and I was wondering if I could check her file for a way to contact her" she said smiling at him hopefully.
"Emily! You know I can't go through a client's file for any reason unless its business."
"I know I know trust me I do but you can look at it at a different perspective "
"What other perspective because-" she cut him off saying.
"Wait a minute you could just say that is if it comes up and I am pretty sure it never will that you just want conducive environment for your employees and we have a past so we needed to talk so we could at least be civil with one another."
"Well I don't think we need to contact her for you all to be civil with one another, this is a personal issue and business is different. "
"Charlie please come on. Just do this and it will be the last time I ever ask for anything."She gave him her famous pouting face
"Yeah right. You said that the last time." He said as she went through some paper on his desk.
"This is it, but you didn't get it from me" Charlie said handing out a pare to her.
"Thank you so much. I honestly just want it over with."
"And Don't forget about your promotional shoot for balenciaga tomorrow"
"Of course "
She took a picture of Lindsay's contact info with her phone so that she could call her later then left to get back to work after giving Charlie a goodbye peck. She was going to be the bigger person and get it done.
By the time she got home it was past eight because of light traffic and she had stopped by Chinese restuarant because she was craving it. She decided to take a quick shower so she could eat comfortably while she watched new episodes of love all play.
She showered and changed into Anthony's sweatshirt, as she was about to sit down a knock at the door came. She pushed the chair and went to unlock the door by putting in the password and swinging the door open.
Anthony's mouth widens into a smile as he saw her shocked expression.
“Love that sweatshirt. On you.”
“I didn’t expect to see you so soon,” she stammer, still shocked by seeing him. And he looked handsome as it is. Dressed in a black suit with a black tie that brings out the color of his eyes to the point that they almost don’t look real, he looks amazing that she just wanted to eat him.
“So you answer the door like that for just anybody?” One eyebrow arched, a hint of what could be jealousy in his tone.
Forgetting she had no pants on, she looks down to find his sweatshirt is barely covering her short shorts.
“I thought you were .....I don't know I just did it spontaneously I guess”
“Not even sure I like you answering the door without being sure of who's outside” His eyes draw a sweep up and down my bare legs before he holds me by the back of the neck and kisses me senseless.
“Yes.” His mouth curves into a mischievous smile.
“You going to invite me in, or do I have to feel you up right here in the doorway, not that I'm complaining "We spend a few minutes just inside the door, with her pushed up against it. Breaking for air, she whispers
“This is an amazing surprise. You’re back early. I didn’t think you’d be back till later, I'm so happy I could scream.” Anthony's hand travels under his sweatshirt that she was wearing, she hadn't yet put on a bra after her shower. He groans as he finds her bare skin.
“There was no reason to stay, I finished business early and I had every reason to come back because you were here” He lifts the sweatshirt, exposing her hard nipples and takes one between his teeth. She smiles thinking she's his reason to come back early. Pressing his body against hers, he pins her to the door with just his hips and takes her mouth in another deep kiss. They quickly become lost in each other.
An hour or two later, they both had microwaved Chinese food for dinner because it had gotten cold when they were busy.
"I was supposed to call Lindsay tonight actually, but I decided to call her tomorrow rather that this evening."
"Yeah, she might have been asleep."
"That's what I thought."
"Its definitely not because you got busy when I came from jumping me and then you forgot." He teased.
"What I did not jump you, I'm pretty sure its the other way around " she said feigning anger.
"No way, I was so scared I thought you had turned into a cat from the way you held me to tight, I have marks to prove them" he said turning back to her so she could see them. She blushed as she remembered how he got them.
"Well it's not my fault that you are just too good"
"I'm sorry what was that let me get my phone so I can have that in recording."
"Hardy ha ha so funny, your ego must be the size of a mountain right now" she said which made him bust out laughing. They cleared the table when they were done eating and went straight to bed, they were both exhausted so tha my why immediately they hit the bed it was lights out.
They next day they both took a long shower together and went to work. She grabbed Starbucks and chipotle on her way to her promotional shoot, she parked her car and someone was already waiting to escort her inside, where her team was waiting. To call this place a studio would have a joke because it was huge, the were so many assessories on the table and she counted like five already. From gloves to shoe to jewelries to clothes on both the table and racks.
"Hi guys" she said to her styling/glam team as she entered. She went about looking the pieces they set out for her and talked with the fashion stylist about the pieces she like and what wants.
"So we were thinking that you could do more of a vintage type of shoot you know as you can see with this pieces. Old but priceless. They are from our early collections. So you can pick the pieces you are comfortable with so whenever you're ready just let us know." Hen the fashion stylist said and Emily nodded her head in understanding
"Thank you. And they are all so gorgeous , I don't even know what to pick"
"Well you can take your time and pick what you will like."
"Okay let me try this purple first so we can see how it looks first"
"Sure." Emily went to the room and tried it on with some other stylist so they could help with putting on the dress and what ever adjustments it might need.
"So I think we could make this a bit tighter at the waist." She said.
"Okay no problem" she tried on other pieces and finally it was time for the shoot. A couple of hours later she was done for the day after saying goodbye to everyone she left to grab a quick lunch at a restaurant. She called Anthony as she drove and put him on speaker as his phone rang. He picked up on the second ring.
"Hey babe."
"Hey, I was wondering if you were close by, maybe we could meet and have luch together."
"Oh damn babe even if I was , I can't leave we're about to have an important meeting. "
"Its no problem, I'll see you when I get back home."
"Okay, love you."
"Love you too." She said and hung up.
Well that sucks she thought to her self. She was craving pasta so she stopped at this cute restaurant she saw on Instagram once, their ambiance was really nice. When she got their she gave the key to the valet and was escorted to a table as soon she entered. It was so peaceful with soft music playing in the background.
She was handed a menu to order. She picked the alfredo chicken pasta with some fries and ketchup on the side with Chapman because she was starving. As she waited for the food she thought of Lindsay and decided to call her.
After the fourth ring she answered.
"Hello?"
"Hi lindsay! It's me Emily. We met s couple of days ago."
"Yeah.....I know that."
"I was just calling to say I know we didn't really end on a good note..you know even before we meet again and I was hoping we could have lunch together whenever you are free so we can talk." Emily said as the waiter came with her food setting them on the table.
"I_"
"And before you say no, please think about it at least. It could be like how we used to be."
"I'll call you to let you know "
"Thanks, I'll talk you you later"
"Okay." She said and hung up. Emily let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. She opened kindle on her phone so she could read Jamie Bengley's recent book for Jewell as she ate her food. She left immediately after eating waiting for the valet to bring her car around so she could go visit Alex.
She got to Alex's in less than forty minutes, and saw Alex's car parked out which meant she was home. She parked her car at the side of Alex's, grabbed her stuffs and got out. She pressed the bell at the side of the door waiting for Alex to buzz her in, which she did and the door opened automatically then she walked in.
"So you will be meeting her tomorrow?" Alex asked after they settled down with wine.
"I hope so she said she'll get back, like if we could just have this dinner and forget about everything so we can all move in all this bad blood is unnecessary."
"Very." Alex agreed as she took a sip of her wine.
"And it's not like I'm pissed she's with Hayden. I honestly could care less and hope I don't have to meet him ever again."
"Why don't you call her tomorrow morning."
"Maybe I will."
Emily stayed for an hour before she left to go home. When she got home she took a quick and went to bed early because she was tired.
The next day, Emily was at work when her phone rang thinking it was probably Anthony she answered immediately.
"Hey babe."
"Hey" that wasn't Anthony's voice. She looked at her phone screen and saw the name.
"Hey Lindsay how are you?"
"Good and you? So I just wanted to tell you I will be in work today so maybe we can grab a coffee, by let's say one forty five?"
"Sure, I'll be in break then, where do you want to meet."
"Dunkins"
"Ok see you soon." Emily said then hung up.
One forty five came sooner than expected, or maybe Emily got there twenty minutes earlier. She didn't want to come at the exact time to Lindsay waiting there weren't much customers so that was good too. She was sipping her coffee when she saw lindsay walk towards her with her coffee in her hands and donuts then sit down across from her.
"Hey."
"Hi, so we better get started. I feel it better we get straight to the point and just let it out." Lindsay said
"Yeah you're right, so as you k ow things didnt really end well with us, I do feel like we are both responsible. I also feel like I should have paid more attention to you and not let that bit of fame get to my head."
"More of your fault than mine. Because you started getting more jobs than me it's like you totally ignored me you were all up in your world. And mind you those job you would have not gotten them if not for me. You k ow why because I was the one who made you come out of your shell." Lindsay said and Emily could not even argue she was right.
"I was happy for you, but a little help to boost my career would have been nice, you were having the followers and getting connections but not one referral to me, I get that you don6have to but I I thought we were friends and it was after I left you realized that which is funny."
"I get what you are saying now and I'm sorry you were right but let's not act like I'm the only bad person, I also wished you would have at least tried to talk to me a bit more you should know I was quite bust. I also heard about you and Hayden too."
"Maybe I should have but there's no point crying over spilled milk. We've moved past that and about Hayden we all knew it wasn't going to past you knew it too and you guys didn't officially date I met him again at an event last year when I was asked out to dinner and then we became a thing. Why are we even talking about this you are already happy with Anthony fro what I can tell."
"You're right, I just want things to go back to the way they were. I miss you." Emily said feeling emotional.
"And I missed you too. But if you look on the bright side we achieved a lot of things and now we are under the same company so I'll say things worked out fine."
"Yeah, I hope we can still be friends and from then we can all have dinner together. "
"Sure."
"And trust me you'll love Alex."
"I hope so too." Lindsay said smiling.
Emily was so glad they had talked and she had an epiphany that everything was going to be alright.
