She took a deep breath and another. Again and again. Trying not to panic.
She had totally forgotten to check the address, if she had seen it she would have stayed in the café while Lindsay delivers. It was now or never, the earlier she did it the better.
She drove out and went straight to TheColbyGroup Corporation.
She was so nervous but she held her head up high and came out of her car. She walked up to the elevator aware that they were all looking at her and pressed the last floor. The elevator dinged and opened so she left. When she got to the front she saw Sasha.
"Hey, Sasha , good afternoon. I am hear to deliver the coffee and donuts" Emily said as she got to the front desk.
"Oh my Gosh, Emily. Oh I missed you, you have no idea how this place has been since you left" Sasha said and hugged her
"Really"
"Yeah Samantha is the new head now and she has been doing terrible Mr C___"
"Miss Smith I don't pay you to slack around, and where are the coffees" Hayden shouted which made the box of coffee almost slip from her hands. She gave the coffee and donuts to Sasha then collected the money and left.
Before she could leave he stopped her.
"Miss West, are you here to ask for your job back?" He asked arrogantly but she squeezed her hands and said.
"No Sir, I came to deliver the coffee and cookies. I hope you have a great day" she said and walked away. She pressed the elevator button and entered hoping the elevator will close before he got to her and it did. When she got out. She ran to her car but was stopped by one of the security.
"Mr Colby, said I should tell you that, your presence is requested up"
"Well I am a human being and I don't work her and you are holding me against my will. I can leave if I want to" She said defiantly , shocking herself.
"I am sorry, but I can't let you pass"
"I don't work here, I came to deliver what they ordered and if you don't let me pass I will call the police" She took out her phone about to call Eric when a voice behind her stopped her from doing do.
"You will not have to do that, Miss West". Her heartbeat came to a screeching stop and then jumpstarted with a hard kick. One man. Only one man had ever looked at her with heat in his eyes, heat so hot it singed her. That man spoke her name now. She didn't have to open her eyes to know. She did anyway. Because she couldn't bear not to see him. Hayden Colby stood at the edge of the circle surrounding her, she always wondered why they wouldn't mind the freaking business, with his hair ruffled, green eyes, and a body of raw muscle stood before her.
She never knew why she denied him when she had always secretly had feelings for him.Her heart felt as if it had been split open. She had loved Hayden in that wild headlong way that only a teenager allowed.
With mock strength that she had she said.
"Sir, if I am force to stay...a.... against my will. I will be forced to do so" trying to sound firm which she felt that she had failed drastically.
"Now there will not be any need for it. So please will you kindly follow me to have a talk in my office. It will only take a minute a__" He was cut short when Sasha came running to him.
"Um... Sir the meeting has started and the investors are getting antsy"
"I will be there in a couple of minutes I think Mr Raymond will be able to hold up the fort while I am gone. Thank you" He turned back to her as Sasha left and smiled. Not that sweet nice smile, the sinister, wicked smile which made her shiver all over.
"Now Miss West as you can see I really will like to talk to you"
"I don't think.....I should really go"
"What Will! Fine " he walked up to her which made everyone look at them both. They all left their work looking at how close he was to her and how he bent to whisper in her ear.
"If you don't follow me I will be forced to make a scene by carrying you over my shoulder or kissing you senseless. Now what do you choose" he didn't have to tell her twice Because firstly she knew he was going to stick to his words. And secondly everyone was watching. She went to elevator waiting for him to enter but he pulled her out and took her to his private own.
She held her bag firmly to prevent them from shaking. The elevator opened and her took her straight to his office locking the door and slamming her back against it. She let out a help out of shock and he groaned out.
"What in the bloody hell are you doing to me?"
"Mr...sir. please stop this is wrong. Why are you doing this"
"BECAUSE....." he shouted which made her winced because his head was against her neck. Then whispered" I can't stop thinking about you.......and then I saw you today and thought it must be a sign I need to have you, God I can't stop thinking about you" He slammed his mouth against hers and lifted her up. She didn't want to fall down so wrapped her legs and arms around him. He carried her to his desk and move his head to her neck biting, sucking and licking. He moved his hands to her breast squeezing them which made her moan softly, then moved to her laps.
"Open for me," he whispered. She didn't. Sympathetic and tenderly amused, Hayden caressed her legs with patient hands. "Don't be shy. There's no part of you that isn't beautiful." His hand moved to the top of her thighs, his thumb sliding into the delicate slit.
"Let me kiss you here," he coaxed.
"Just once."
"Oh, God... no." She reached down and weakly pushed his hand away.
"It's a sin."
"How do you know?"
"Because it feels like one," she managed to say. He laughed quietly and pulled her hips farther toward him with a decisiveness that drew a little yelp from her.
"In that case... I never sin by half measures."
"We're both going to hell," Emily said as he kissed along the seam of her clenched thighs.
"I've always assumed I would." Hayden didn't sound at all troubled by the idea. She squirmed in violated modesty, wondering wildly how she had come to find herself half naked in his office with him. The air was cold, the mahogany upholstery chilled beneath her bare bottom, and his warm hands and mouth raised Goosebumps all over her body.
His hands gripped her legs, not forcing them apart, only squeezing the locked muscles, and it felt so deliriously good that she moaned in despair. His thumbs worked into the top of the soft triangle, kneading gently. A quivery pleasure awakened at the pit of her stomach, and she let him tease her legs apart. She was lost, unable to think, all her senses focused on the kisses that pressed along her inner thigh, straying where the skin was thin and sensitive. Her knees jerked as he reached the tender seam of closed lips and licked upward, parting them with his tongue. He stopped just before he reached the soft bud at the top. Panting, she reached for his head and slid her fingers into his hair, uncertain whether she wanted to push him away or pull him closer. He nibbled the edge of an outer fold, his breath hot and tickling.
He searched slowly, never quite reaching the place that ached the most. A devil whisper sifted through the darkness.
"Do you want me to kiss you?"
"No." A half second after that, she took a sobbing breath and said,
"Yes." A quiet laugh vibrated against her wet flesh, and she nearly swooned at the feel of it.
"Which is it?" he asked.
"Yes or no?"
"Yes. Yes." It was not pleasant to discover that one's moral resolve had all the strength of wet cardboard.
"Show me where," he murmured. Breathing hard with excited misery, she made herself do it, reaching down to expose the tiny peak.
His mouth covered her slowly, tenderly, the flat of his tongue resting against the intimate throb. Her hands fell away and groped for the velvet cushions beneath her, fingertips digging tightly. His tongue slid over her. Once. Trembling and half fainting, she let out a plangent moan. Another languid stroke, finishing with a flick.
"Tell me you need me." His breath tickled her softness as he waited.
"I need you," she gasped. He used his tongue in a wickedly teasing circle.
"Now say that you're mine." She would have said almost anything, the desire was so consuming. But she'd heard a subtle change in his tone, a note of possessiveness that warned he was no longer playing. When she didn't reply, he insinuated a finger into the entrance of her body... no, two... nudging past sensitive tucks and pleats of flesh. The sense of fullness was uncomfortable but exquisite.
She could feel her inner muscles pulsing, striving to pull his fingers even deeper. As he searched, he touched something inside her, some acutely tender place that made her knees draw up and her toes curl. His voice lowered... darkened.
"Say it."
"I'm yours," she said brokenly. He made a sound of satisfaction, almost a purr. Her hips arched, begging him to touch that soft inner spot again, and she jerked as he found it. All her limbs went weak.
"Oh. Yes, there, there..." Her voice dissolved as she felt his lips open over her, sucking, teasing.
He rewarded her with a steady rhythm, his free hand sliding beneath her writhing bottom, guiding her, rocking her more firmly up against his mouth. With every ascent of her hips, he licked upward, the tip of his tongue catching wetly just beneath the little pearl of her sex, again and again. She heard herself breathing in sobs and moaning out words, and there was no controlling anything now, no thought or will, only a terrible need that raced higher and higher, until the wrenching spasms began. With a low cry, she jerked against him, her thighs clamping uncontrollably on his shoulders.
After the last long, helpless shudders had faded, Emily fell back on the table like a rag doll that someone had tossed aside. Hayden kept his mouth on her, easing the pleasure into relaxation. She summoned just enough strength to reach out and caress his hair. That might have been worth going to hell for, she thought, and didn't realize she had mumbled it aloud until she felt him smile.
After a couple of kisses later and fondling with her breast she arranged her clothes and was about to leave to go and scold herself for being so stupid when his voice stopped her .
"I have to go to a meeting now but the next time I promise we will finished what we started" he said sitting shirtless at the edge of his table. She was silent for a good five minutes getting her thoughts back together and wondering how she had come to deliver the got this.
" I don't think we should do this...I..was in the moment...and you are my former boss. This is wrong and I can't . I won't see you again" She said as she quickly arranged her clotg and ran out of the office to the elevator. He wanted to run after her but he stayed back. He could still taste her on his tongue. She was so beautiful, he thought. But was always covering herself in those clothes.
"Never mind. I'm not interested." But he knew it was a lie. The truth was in her eyes. She was interested, no matter how she fought it. And God help him . . . so was he.
She ran out of the building panting, she didn't even mind those that were looking at her in a psychotic way. She entered her car and then drove out. After she was a couple of blocks away from the company, she parked to the side and let her tears fall. What was she thinking. How could she have done this. After cleaning her tears she drove back to the cafe thinking of an excuse that she can give Lindsay for being late.
She finally arrived at the Cafe and went straight in to help Lindsay. The customers where pretty much today so it was really busy. After they finished and closed it was almost six PM. Eric rushed out of his office in a rush.
"Shi! Shit! I have a very important contract to sign in an hour "
"That's too bad it's a three hour drive back to the city. You will just have to settle with the few millions you already have" Lindsay teased and the all laughed.
"You know I can't, Hey Lindsay would you mind locking up today"
"Yeah sure if I can't I will give the key to Emily"
"And don't forget we have a someone coming in on Monday. He will help with the customers......when I get back I pick a day we would have our meeting"
Eric left while Lindsay and Emily cleaned up, after they were done Emily offered Lindsay a ride home, since they didn't leave to far from each other.
"Sooooooo........ You want to talk about it?" Lindsay said as they went home.
"About what?" She replied confused.
"Please I know a swollen lip and a hickey when I see one"
"What!" Emily said slamming on the break which earned a horn from the car behind her. She could practically hear the person cussing at her.
"Jeez Emily chill, you scared the fuck out of me" Lindsay said
"Oh sorry I was just shocked. You... don't think Eric noticed did you?" she said as she put the car back in drive .
"I highly doubt that. But maybe the customers did" she teased.
"Stop it."
"Okay. But you want to tell me what happen....did...you like run into your ex..or boyfriend?"
"No way, first of all I don't have a boyfriend and secondly it is kind of complicated and.....I don't even... know"
"I mean you did work there for a while so maybe you had something with him."
"You won't understand believe me when I say it's complicated it is."
"He wants to spend time with you people do stupid things go and be one of them. What is life if you don't make mistakes"
"My God. You give the worst advice."
"Then don't ask me for it."
"I didn't!" Lindsay regarded her with fond concern. A sisterly gaze.
"Mija. You know how people always say 'You'll find someone when you stop looking'?"
"Yeah."
"I think you've gotten too good at not looking. You've decided not to look even if the right man for you happens to be standing right in front of you."
"Go on. Don't worry if it's a mistake. Most mistakes turn out okay."
"The worst advice," she repeated darkly, and left her. She knew that Lindsay was right: she had developed some bad habits since my catastrophic engagements with other people. Solitude, avoidance, suspicion. But those coping mechanisms had warded off a hell of a lot of pain and damage. It wouldn't be easy to get rid of them, even if she wanted to.
"Okay. Whenever you are ready. Just call and I will be there. We should totally have girls night out with my friends tommorow"
"I don't know if you noticed but I am not really a social person. It's not that I am a snob I am just.... weird..and like awkward with some people" Emily said as took a turn to the left.
"Okay but you should just try. You might find out how you have so much in common."
"Okay I will. But don't expect much".
Lindsay laughed and nodded.
She dropped Lindsay off and went straight home.
