Chapter 51

Devastating would be a much smaller word to describe my vulnerability and torn state at that moment. The couple whom I used to think were enemies were actually playing hide and seek just to reveal me. I again got fooled just by a small act of kindness. Pathetic.

Matteo knew about me. Not the whole but he knew that I wasn’t a human. Shocking but that was the truth. He befriended me due to some personal grudges. I couldn’t hear the entire conversation cause at the same time the female staff called me from behind and I had to scurry before they both could catch me. But what I heard was worthy because it helped me step back before I fell into their trap.

Matteo was trying to expose me. He had his eyes on me from the very beginning which surely signaled at one thing that he wanted to hunt me down. Veronica, her partner had given my details to Damien that I was Matt’s date for the night which again of course was her boyfriend’s idea.

His betrayal impacted me the most. It extinguished my only hope but ignited a new fire in my heart. The fire of teaching him a lesson. The fire of making him pay, even if it costs my life.

After leaving the mall, I minted my plan. Enough of being the scapegoat, it’s time to make them understand that they made the mistake of the century by provoking me.

Damien knew nothing and acted realistically but mine was fabricated. I faked my tears, and my insecurities and orchestrated the entire drama to make Matteo believe that I was still innocent and needed his support. He defended me against his parents but it was all an act because they were watching me through the cameras. I knew it as I had turned the entire mansion upside down when those fraudsters thought that I was sleeping soundly in my room.

Matteo wanted to become a hero in my eyes, sadly he didn’t know that I already have seen his true face. My hands were itching to gauge his eyes out of his sockets when his dirty fingers touched me. I don’t even want to imagine how fucking disgusted I was when he was about to kiss me. But I kept quiet ’cause my main motive was to make my mate jealous.

Reina and I had a serious discussion when we found out about the Stephanini’s cruel intentions. She was no doubt infatuated with Damien. Maybe she had accepted him but the wheels in my mind had turned. While she was dreaming of reuniting with her mate, I was thinking of the way to step into my territory.

This was my only chance. For years, I have been denying and getting agitated over the idea of vengeance. I wanted to live a normal life but whenever I tried, circumstances molded channeling me to the door which I forbade to open.

But after pondering, I realized that my fate was also compelling me to fight back. And to be honest, whomever I have met till now has only backstabbed me. Literally, I found no one on this earth whom I can trust.

Maybe this wasn’t my destiny. I am unnecessarily fantasizing about a life that I can never live. There are thorns in my path on which I had to walk.

Reina’s words and the betrayals I have received so far encouraged me to claim what was once mine.

Yes, I was being a coward, I didn’t dare to face the people who snatched everything from me. Or should I say, I was trying to erase the struggles and painful deaths of my parents because I was ashamed and lacked the courage to avenge them?

How can I turn over a new leaf when the past would keep dragging me down? I can only achieve happiness and peace once I wipe out the cause of my problems.

With that fantastic plan in mind, I acted accordingly and trapped the man who will serve as my key. I obediently followed Damien to his home because the journey to Northern Valley would commence only after crossing the Devil’s lair.

My submission would have made him dubious that’s why I put up a fight with him. To keep him assured that I still haven’t forgiven him. If I suddenly turn soft on him, I would myself give him a reason to look through my lies and ruin everything.

Sighing, I rounded to the bed and plopped on it.

Deceiving Damien wouldn’t be that easy. To make my plan work, I need him by my side. He loves me but I want him completely obsessed till he turns mad in love. I would also reciprocate his feelings slowly.

And once I have him under my thumb, he wouldn’t hesitate twice and serve me his father’s head on a silver platter.
