Chapter 69
The winds howled viciously while dark grey clouds covered the entire sky. Emmaline frowned as this was something completely out of the blue considering the weather forecast stated that it would be a clear sky on the full moon night. She curled her fingers around the iron railing and closed her eyes as the wild winds caressed her face and soon disappeared into her messy mane only to make them dance along with them. A smile crept on her face; she angled her face to the sky when a drop of pure water fell on her lips.
Emmaline quickly pulled her tongue to savor the drop of the first rain that hit the valley but soon the pitter-patter started. She embraced it with open arms and rejoiced the moment.
The girl was frazzled with all the mysterious and new revelations and demanded a break.
The most depressing thing is when you have no one by your side to share your problems. Same was with Emmaline. She gets the information from Zion and needs to hide it from Damien. Other than that, she has no allies and her relationship with her long-lost brother wasn't that strong that she could confide in him.
But today she decided to take a break. Leaving all the worries and tensions behind, she simply enjoyed the few moments of relief and happiness not knowing that a pair of red eyes was ogling her.

To protect himself from the repercussions of this mystical night, the Alpha decided to lock himself in the dungeon that was located far away from the packhouse. His huge figure was chained with iron shackles but the man was in an excruciating pain. No one can outdo the changes in nature.
A full Moon was just like a natural phenomenon that every werewolf has to bear with it. They can either accept it and bring on their beast to prance under the moonlight or unnecessarily torture themselves to curb their transformation which was nearly impossible.
Damien stood in the latter case since as soon as the moon soared high in the sky and the night turned darker, he lost control. Scar was viciously snarling in his mind; he also took up the arms with Damien today for suppressing him inside when it was his day to wield power. One of the major reasons why Damien was precluding his beast as he didn't want to hurt Emmaline. He knew he would lose control, he has already done her enough harm which have widened their chasm. Now he needs to give her some space and if he tried getting near her today, he would do something for which he had to regret his whole life.
But the Alpha lost against his buddy who took control of him and broke through the dungeon to seek his mate.
His emotions were high so was his libido. His beast was burning in fire and the urge to claim her tonight turned stronger and insanely powerful with every step he took towards the mansion.
Scar sprung through the woods, crushing the dried twigs with his huge paws, and finally halted in the garden. His blazing red hues scanned the mansion which was swathed in darkness when he spotted a small figure on the balcony. Scar was overjoyed but soon fury coursed through him when he noticed her human form.
She didn't change.
Damien was bewildered and shocked. The Moon did not affect Emmaline or did she repulse those changes?
Or Emmaline can’t change?
Damien was hundred percent sure that she wasn't wolfless because he had caught her talking to Reina multiple times. And even if her wolf was dormant, this night was special since today the moonlight is laced with magical powers which entice the werewolves to come outside, and as soon as that scintillating light caress their skin, their dead powers are triggered reuniting them with their other part, their wolves. Completing their transformation.
But these theories failed in front of Emmaline considering the fact she was directly under the moonlight.
Damien now turned alarmed. There was something deeply hidden. Something which maybe Emmaline was aware of but she was keeping under wraps.
Very cautiously, he got closer to her and stood just below the balcony so that he can analyze her every move. But there was a battle going on between him and his buddy who was head over heels for Emmaline. Unlike him, he was busy marveling at her beauty, his red hues resembled small hearts while he stared at her like a hopeless lover.
Soon the downpour began. Damien was awestruck watching her smiling not even bothered about the heavy droplets that were whipping her face mercilessly. Her arms were wide open with her palms angled at the sky. But what had him freezing was when she drew out her tongue and licked the droplets. Damien was instantly aroused while Scar thanked the stars for blessing his eyes with the most exquisite view.
Emmaline was in her nightwear with a cream-colored tank top and silk shorts that bared her legs. Damien could feel his heart pumping loudly as her clothes were completely soaked and stuck on her like a second skin. He could make out all her curves and dips but the sight of her creamy legs was a huge distraction.
He couldn't wait anymore and took a huge leap to reach her.
Emmaline was busy playing with the rain when the sound of something hard crashing against the floor rang in her ears. She opened her eyes only to stagger back in shock watching a huge black wolf glaring at her. She had never confronted Scar so she had no idea who he was.
"Who are you?" Her voice came off steady and threatening. Emmaline was so immersed in cleaning her mind that she had forgotten that it was the Full Moon tonight with massive beasts lurking around every single corner.
Damien on the other hand only growled in response. The sight of her soaked clothes with sparkling rivulets running down her supple skin tempted him to no extent. As she stared at him with dampened eyelashes, all he wanted was to tear those clothes off her and claim her right away. He didn't give a damn that she hasn't transformed or he was a wolf right now, all he wanted was to make love with her anyhow.
Emmaline wobbled back when she noticed his gaze that was lingered way too long on her clothed breasts. She instantly brought her arms to the front and took a step back but the black beast on cue moved forward. His predatory eyes teeming with hunger and desire raked all over her quivering figure.
Emmaline was terrified. She was alone and defenseless, she wouldn’t be able to fight him.
Emmaline darted her eyes around trying to use something for her defense when suddenly an ear-splitting growl rang in her ears. She was shocked as that voice didn’t belong to anyone but her as it ripped out from deep inside of her.
Damien turned worried when Emmaline grabbed her head and slumped on the floor. He quickly came near her and nudged her head while Emmaline curled in a ball and her eyes started rolling back. With her knees and head plastered against the concrete floor, she curled her body more as an agonizing pain rippled through her core.
"Arrgg!!"
Emmaline groaned out loud, she felt like dying. Damien started pushing her with more force, something which could serve as a help but his eyes rounded when he watched her bones cracking.
She was transitioning.
Scar jumped enthusiastically. Finally, the wait was over. He would be able to meet his mate but Damien on the other hand couldn't shake off his worry.
Her cries intensified as she couldn't accept the changes her body was going through. Damien felt helpless. He couldn't shift back to his human form today, that could be possible only once the night ended and the first ray of sun touches the earth's surface.
The distraught Alpha simply watched her writhing in pain but he immediately turned around when her clothes started shredding to unveil her little friend. No matter how much he hates her, he couldn't erase the small tinge of respect she holds in his heart.
Damien closed his eyes, he wish to close his ears too to block her screaming and grunting. He just prayed to end her suffering soon.
Suddenly she turned silent. Damien beamed but he jarred in shock when a feral and thunderous growl echoed in the empty forests. His mansion also couldn't elude it as he could feel the ground shake beneath his paws. The night turned to the darkest shade while the Moon hid behind the clouds not to confront the demon he just unleashed.
Damien panicked realizing that the ominous and booming howl can only belong to a Lycan.
'Em'
The first thought to protect her struck his mind as he instantly turned around but before he could do that, he was harshly pulled from the ground and thrown away.
Scar didn't have time to retaliate as he went flying into the woods like a dry leaf and collided with a tree. Damien grunted in pain as the bones in his back got fractured by the impact and the wooden splinters scraped his skin. He could even feel the hot blood trickling down from his back as if someone had clawed him.
'E-Emma’
Her thought and her name were the only things that swirled inside his mind before the pain turned unbearable and he succumbed to the darkness.
