Chapter 60 : The Glowworm Cave

Selene

She led the way, lost in thought, her mind focused on the two confused men in her life, while Joshua walked quietly beside her as they made their way to the river near the village surrounded by cliffs. It was the same river they had emerged from when he had carried her across the water to reach Moonlit Grove in time to save Mike.

As her eyes gazed at the clear surface of the water, she felt the heat of the sunlight reflecting off the smooth surface. She blinked quickly and squinted her eyes to reduce the blinding effect of the reflected sunlight.

When she heard the sound of clothes rustling next to her, Selene automatically turned her head to the right and saw that he was once again taking off his clothes. A hot blush flushed her cheeks and she quickly looked away.

"Warn me before you do that!"

She could hear him chuckle. "No need to look away, sweet Selene. I'm not embarrassed in the least. If you are curious, you may look at my naked body."

She stuttered for a few seconds, refusing to take him up on his offer, even though she was tempted to do so. "I don't want to know!" Annoyance and anger made her voice sound strong.

"You're such a liar," he said, breathing into her ear, his body warm against her back even though he wasn't touching her. Too close!

Selene unconsciously moved forward to put some distance between them, forgetting that she was now standing right at the water's edge. Her foot stepped on a wet stone, causing her to stumble.

She was sure she could control herself before she fell into the river, but a strong arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her back against a powerful chest, her ass pressed against his crotch. She was stunned at how quickly their positions changed. When she felt something inside her ass lengthen and harden to an impressive size, she was confused and frowned uncomprehendingly.

"Are you okay, Selene?" He murmured close to her forehead, inhaling her scent.

She felt him smile as he lowered his face to the top of her hair. "I'd love nothing more than to prove you're lying, but we have important business to attend to first."

As Joshua released her, his warmth disappeared from her back, leaving behind aching and desire.

A few seconds later, his voice entered the link of her mind. ‘Get on my back and we'll go.’

Next, she looked hesitantly over her shoulder, the blush still on her face, afraid of what she would see - a naked Joshua - and almost breathed a sigh of relief when she saw a big, strong wolf standing behind her.

His glossy fur color shone brightly in the sunlight on his black pelt, mixed with his smooth brown fur that looked thick. Even in his wolf form, he was magnificent.

‘You are blushing,’ he teased.

As he stared at her, Selene walked silently toward him, her face still red as she took his clothes without being asked, then climbed onto his back and sat astride him, her thighs spread wide as she found her place.

Somehow, this time, she was embarrassed to ride him. Knowing that the man was attracted to her, unable to deny the mutual attraction between them, Selene had the urge to sit sideways. But that would be silly, wouldn't it?

Her thoughts were interrupted when he gave her a 'hold on' warning before jumping into the cold river water. As before, they emerged from the water less than a minute later. They remained dry, as if they hadn't just jumped into the river.

It was dark; she could barely see except for the strange green light emanating from the hundreds of tiny specks around her.

As much as I enjoy having your voluptuous body wrapped around mine, I think it would be best if I returned to human form.

"Ah... yes, of course. Sorry." As she swung her legs over her broad back, she landed with a sharp slap. She immediately realized that she was standing on rocky ground.

"Where are we? A cave?" Selene asked curiously, trying to look around in vain.

"Yes, Nathaniel hid my children here because he knew that big, dark brown wolves don't usually come to caves."

Then she felt a hand on her shoulder. Knowing instantly that it was Joshua, she tried to look at him, but her eyes could not adjust to the dim and strange light.

"If you're done staring at my chest, can I have my clothes back?" He said with a smile.

With a bit of dismay, she pushed his clothes towards him. "It's not like that! It's too dark. I can't see you!"

"So easily offended," he mocked with amusement.

She did not want to answer with a comment and looked away when she heard the familiar sound of clothes rustling. Her eyes were beginning to adjust to the dim light when she felt the man's hand on her shoulder again.

"I'm already dressed. Would you like me to lead you? My vision is not too impaired by the darkness." Then his hand slid down her arm as he spoke, finding hers and clasping it.

Releasing his grip, she took a few steps away. "No, I can see better now." Walking to the cave wall to observe the strange dots that had appeared, she saw - upon closer inspection - that the dots were wiggling and moving.

"What are they?"

"Glowworms, harmless. They live in the darkest, coldest depths of the cave." Joshua moved to stand beside her. She secretly hoped he would keep his distance.

"How do you know your pack doesn't live in caves?"

She couldn't see him, but she felt his eyes on her.

"I may not be used to living in or visiting caves like they do, but that doesn't mean I'm stupid. When I was young, I was always curious. I used to go from one cave to another. I had never ventured deep into a cave, and to prove that I wasn't afraid of such places, I explored them. Of course, I ended up getting lost. For hours I wandered through endless tunnels, and luckily I found a small pond. I was able to return home, to the arms of my scolding mother."

She could tell he was smiling as he told the story. It showed in her voice. "I'm glad you were able to find your way home safely."

She saw his head move and turn toward her. Although it was difficult for her to see his expression, she knew he was looking at her face. "Is that true, Selene?"

Unsure how to answer, she looked away and asked curtly, "Do you know where your children are being held?"

After a few moments of silence, Joshua replied. "I can guess. Follow the scent of this person's aura."

She gave him a look that was well deserved for such an unhelpful answer. Obviously, Joshua could see her expression because he laughed.

"Do you doubt my abilities, my sweet Selene?" an amused tone sounded in his voice.

Shaking her head in annoyance, Selene began to walk away from the stone wall and her amused acquaintance. "Then let's go."

"Sure." Then Joshua easily caught up with her long strides, then stepped half a step ahead to lead the way. She did not question or argue, but followed wordlessly.
