"I suppose this body is of no use anymore. I commend you, bug, you've been a sizable threat. To think you and that scrawny human would drive me so much…"
The sword spoke…
The moment I managed to slay the Emperor, the sword flew away with the kill as well, as I saw the Emperor's soul agonizingly screaming while being eaten by the blade.
Just what is this plot twist?
I was already tired with dealing with the guy transforming into a Demon, and then his third transformation into a damn mass of flesh!
And now that we are done with him, the sword ends up being the mastermind?!
However, the moment I heard the sword's voice, I tried sensing its power and presence. It was weaker than the Emperor on his prime as a demon, but it was nonetheless stronger than the mass of flesh form, which was actually a deformed form with too much wasteful energy.
But above everything, this guy had a very strange presence, it emanated a lot of demon-like energy. Something I had only truly felt when I battled the Demon Lords. I had already killed Wrath, Lube, Avarice, and Pereza, four of them! Is this guy… the fifth Demon Lord?
Was he behind the entire Human Empire conspiracy as well?
"Just who the hell are you?!" I roared back, quickly drinking the last twelve MP potions I had as my MP was already almost zero. The guy was slowly gathering a black cloud of energy around him, so the sword was slowly transforming while flying up, I knew I wouldn't be able to catch it in time, so it was better to fill my MP before anything else.
"I suppose at this point, there's no problem in telling you, little bug. I will soon slay you and devour the souls and drink the blood of all the elves as my Lord has ordered me!" Laughed the sword, his voice was masculine. "I am Invidia, the Demon Sword of Envy!" Laughed the Sword.
So he's a Demon Sword, not an actual flesh body demon, huh? Well, I had already half-guessed it. However, this guy was very talkative at that. I had to use this opportunity to think about a strategy. For the moment, I'll keep asking him to talk out everything he knows. Apparently he lacks common sense because he's spitting everything.
"Invidia, the Demon Sword of Envy?!" I asked while pretending to be shocked. The Sword loved my act and completely fell for it, immediately beginning to spit everything he had been doing for the last years.
"Indeed! I am a Legendary Demon Sword forged by the ancient Vampire Emperor that ruled over this world thousands of years ago! I am a Cursed Sword with the power to steal powers, devour souls, and drink the blood of my foes… and wielder! I've been growing stronger since I was conceived. Even thought the death of the Vampires in this world brought the demise of my Creator, I've infiltrated the Human Empire and acted as a loyal Divine Treasure that the Emperors had wielded since thousands of years… I've been waiting patiently for the day where I would be able to destroy these humans…!" Laughed the sword.
Was this bastard behind the humans plans this entire time then? I was right, this guy is the mastermind! But he.. was created by the Vampire Emperor? I am sure Vampires are extinct now, but were they like the Fourth Race of this world after all? But why would he call himself a Demon Sword if he was made by Vampires. Are Vampires… demons?
"Oh no! W-Whatever will I do?!" I cried, pretending to be concerned.
"Yes! That's the right response! Cower in fear!" Laughed the sword.
"But there's something weird…!" I said exaggeratedly. "How is it possible that you were made by a Vampire Emperor if you call yourself a Demon Sword?! Wouldn't you be a Vampire Sword then?"
"That's not right… Demon Swords are special swords that Vampires once forged when they hunted down the strongest demons and used their souls to create us. I might be the last of my kin but also I am the first to have ever been made! Through the Legendary Power of Soul-Ego-Forging, my Master and Creator created me by using one million demon souls as sacrifice! Hahahaha! Nonetheless, the time of Vampires ended… And I've joined the Demons, who are the closest to share the ideals of my Master." Said the Sword.
"What? But weren't they all enemies? How is it not shameful to obey the Demon King?" I asked.
"Hmph! It is not without benefits, you brainless bug!" Laughed the sword. "I've managed to make a deal with the Demon King as he promised me to bring back the Vampires to life whenever he finally manages to conquer the Humans and Elves! Over hundreds of years, I've already received the assistance of previous Demon Kings, using the artifacts of my creator to make the humans slowly turn Vampiric, until now where they had reached an incredible Vampiric-like body, with none of their actual weaknesses! Although they're all dying now, I hold many guinea pigs inside the Empire, and I will use them to bring the Vampires back to this world, so we shall conquer it all!"
Oh my god he's really telling me everything. Well, he's a sword, you can't expect him to be intelligent when he doesn't even has a brain to begin with, right? And to be honest, I am grateful he's talking all of this. I wish things could go like this always!
But to sum up everything, he infiltrated the Human Empire since long ago and has been manipulating them as the Black Sword that every Emperor has. He probably was feeding from the Emperor's powers and at the same time, giving him part of his powers, he's a parasite sword.
It was also his own manipulation over the human family that they ended overusing these artifacts to inherit Skills, which ended turning the humans slowly into Vampires…
