Chapter 11 Murder Mystery

I arrived at college the next morning wearing the jacket over the tank top to conceal the wound on my arm. I was confident that Jonathan would come to college because I had requested him to do so the day before.

I knew he cared about me no matter what he said.

When I stepped into the classroom, I noticed Nora and Amir sitting on the second to last bench in the left row. I saw them after a month, and I knew I was indirectly hurting them, but I didn't know how to explain my feelings for Jonathan to them.

I walked over to them and sat behind them. They looked at me with surprise after turning their faces towards me because they hadn't expected to see me here at college.

They both gave me a tight hug after they recovered from their shock.

"Mia, how are you? I hope you're feeling better after a month." Nora inquired, concerned, and I just stared at her blankly because I didn't want to lie to them that I was fine. They both glanced at each other helplessly.

"You should come to college, Mia. Everything will be fine because we will go shopping. Please do not lock yourself in the room; we are with you." Amir explained to me as he softly held my hand.

“I’ll try, guys.” I just gave them a slight nod.

When I saw Jonathan enter the classroom, my eyes shone with joy and my lips drew up into a broad smile. My heart was filled with joy just by his mere presence.

After seeing him in class after a month, Amir and Nora's eyes widened in surprise.

He directly strode to me and sat beside me without looking at me. I felt giddy with delight because, for me, he came to college and sat next to me.

Nora and Amir stared at him in disbelief before turning to face the front as the teacher began his lesson.

My gaze was fixed on Jonathan. I knew he was just pretending to be engrossed in the book on the table, but in reality, he was glancing at me through the corner of his eyes every few seconds.

I took a deep breath, and as I held his cold hand, he jerked it, and as I held it again, he jerked it again. It happened two more times before he turned to face me and gave me deadly glares.

“What's your problem?" He snapped at me in anger, keeping his voice low.

"What's your problem?" I snapped back.

"You're my problem." He growled.

"Oh really? I-“

The teacher cut me off.

"Out now, Jonathan Mia, you're both disturbing the class." We both stood up quietly and exited the classroom as the teacher chastised us. I smiled as deep down, I was relieved because I would have some alone time with him.

“How’s your hand?” He asked in a hushed tone as we stepped out of the classroom.

I rolled my eyes and turned my face, murmuring. “And he says that he doesn’t care for me. "

“What?” I tucked a few strands of hair behind my ear, pretended not to hear him and struggled to keep my smile from breaking out.

“Nothing.”

When he was about to leave, I stopped him by coming in front of him, and he scowled at me.

"Did you come to college for me today?" I asked, ignoring his sullen look.

He shook his head. "No. I came here to tell you that tomorrow you will despise me and believe I am a monster." He told me in a grim tone after dangerously coming close to my face.

I was a bit scared. What was going on in his mind? I really didn't want to hate him.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to compose myself.

"I can never hate you because I love you, Mr Vampire. Now I also know you were in the ground that day and were about to kiss me. Accept the fact that you have feelings for me, Jonathan.” I spoke, staring deep into his eyes.

“Yes, I have feelings for you, Miss Mia.” As he accepted his feelings, an evil smile spread across his face, and my brows narrowed in confusion.

He moved closer to my lips. “I have an intense lust for you, Mia.” He whispered against my lips, making my breath heavy. My heart was aching for a kiss from him.

I sighed and rolled my eyes. "For God's sake, Jonathan, stop lying." I slightly pushed him away.

I wanted to feel his lips on mine, but not in this way.

“Whatever! Tomorrow you’ll get to know who I’m. You’ll hate me, Mia.”

"Stop, Jonathan. Why don't you accept that you love me? I know you came here for me today, and now you're trying to scare me again." I stated confidently, not revealing that I was a bit scared.

He chuckled. "I am sure, you will despise me tomorrow." He asserted and walked away.

‘What are you planning to do, Jonathan? I really don't want to hate you.’ I fiddled with my neck chain and stared at him until he vanished from my view.

I returned home and spent the entire day pondering over what he would do the next day. I was frightened. After all, I didn't want to despise him because I love him. I didn't eat anything all day and slept at night after convincing myself that he just said those words to scare me.

I awoke from my slumber the next morning when I heard someone constantly knocking on the door of my room. I also heard noises coming from outside.

"What is going on?" I murmured and climbed down from the bed quickly. I had no idea why my heart was pounding. I dashed to the door and flung it open.

When I stepped outside, I found that all of my relatives and neighbours had gathered in the hall. I gasped as I noticed a dead body covered in a white sheet lying on the floor. My mother was being investigated by a police officer. I lumbered over to them.

After listening to Inspector's words, my eyes dilated in shock. "Mrs Foster, your husband was attacked by an animal. Did you notice anything?" As the police officer inquired, my mother gave a negative nod.

The strange thing was that I couldn't see any hint of pain in her eyes.

"Did Jonathan really murder my father?" The question came to mind. Dad never spoke with me, but he was still my father. How could Jonathan murder him just to show me that he was a monster?
