Chapter 35 A Truth
Chapter 35 A Truth
"No matter what the truth may be, I could never hate you.” I stated with unwavering certainty as I tenderly caressed his face.
Jonathan's expression softened, gratitude flickering in his eyes. He took a deep breath, steeling himself to reveal a truth he had hidden for too long.
"Angel, I have to confess something to you," he began, his voice filled with remorse.
Curiosity mixed with a hint of apprehension, I listened attentively, my heart bracing for the revelation. I trusted Jonathan, but the weight of his secret made my pulse quicken.
"I erased our past memories from your mind.” He confessed, causing my eyes to widen in shock. Instinctively, I withdrew my hands from his face, a surge of emotions flooding through me.
"What? We've met before, and you made me forget?" I questioned, my tone infused with disbelief, to which he gave me a slight nod.
"Now I understand why I felt such an intense connection with you. Why did you do that, and when did we meet previously?" I asked, my voice laced with a blend of curiosity and hurt.
"When you visited your beach house during this summer vacation." Jonathan answered, his eyes filled with remorse, and then he began telling the events of our first meeting.
Flashback
As I first laid eyes on you, you were seated by the beach, your hair fluttering in the chilly breeze, your gaze fixated on the water. You looked absolutely stunning in your blue dress. I fell in love with you at that very moment, knowing deep down that you were the woman I had been waiting for all these years. There was an overwhelming sense of peace as I watched you.
However, your lips were downturned with sadness, unsettling me. I felt an instant urge to bring a smile to your face. Without hesitation, I made my way toward you, my eyes never leaving your form.
You looked at me in shock and asked, "Who are you?" I continued gazing at you, unblinking.
"Why are you so upset?" I questioned, prompting a bewildered furrowing of your brows. "You can confide in me; it might alleviate some of your pain."
"I can't find peace in my life. I am a lost soul searching for a home.” You shared, looking at me with a gaze mirroring the way I had been looking at you.
"We are sailing in the same boat, but I have something to confess," I revealed.
"What?" You inquired.
"I find solace in your presence. May I sit with you for a while?" I politely requested, and you gave a slight nod of approval.
Taking a seat beside you, we locked eyes, delving deep into each other's souls.
And then, you began opening up to me, sharing your pain.
"After confiding in you, I feel somewhat better. Thank you.” You expressed, and I responded with a smile.
"I'm glad to hear that, but please don't thank me. I'm doing this for myself." I stated, causing your brows to furrow once again in bemusement.
"I don't understand. What do you mean?" You asked, staring at me.
"I'm not sure why, but I feel compelled to bring you relief and witness a smile on your face.” I explained, leaving you utterly incredulous.
"Who are you?" You questioned, fixating your eyes on me.
"A vampire.” I revealed, and your eyes widened in shock.
You burst into laughter, believing it to be a joke. At that moment, as I lost myself in you, I was grateful that you perceived it that way.
"You're kidding, right?" You asked to confirm.
"Yes, I was joking," I nodded.
"What's your name?"
"Jonathan White."
"I'm Mia, and it's nice talking to you. I came here alone for vacation. Do you live here?” You asked me with a hint of curiosity in your eyes.
"I also came alone, but now I have an excellent company." I replied, causing your lips to curl into a smile.
"You have a beautiful smile." I complimented you.
You blushed, and your eyelashes fluttered downward. At that moment, you stole my heart.
Merrily, you exclaimed, "I haven't smiled like this in a long time. Thank you for making me smile." A broad smile flashed on my face after becoming the reason for your smile.
"I'm delighted to hear that.” I responded, and we beamed at each other.
We witnessed the sunset together, marking the most extraordinary day of our life. Your head rested upon my shoulder, taking me by surprise. I delicately brushed your hair behind your ear, prompting another smile from you. Leaning down, I planted a gentle kiss on your forehead, causing you to close your eyes, savouring my touch.
Raising your head from my shoulder, you affectionately gazed at me.
"I've never experienced such tranquillity before. Will you accompany me on this vacation?" You inquired, arching your eyebrows.
"I would adore spending more time with you, Mia.” I agreed, and you beamed with joy.
As our connection deepened, your breath grew heavy, and a charged atmosphere enveloped us. The anticipation lingered in the air as our lips drew closer, our proximity sending shivers down our spine. With tender affection, I pressed a gentle kiss against your cheek, savouring the sweetness of the moment. It was a tender gesture that spoke volumes of the growing love between us.
In that instant, the world around us seemed to fade, leaving only the pulsating energy between us. Our hearts beat in sync, mirroring the intensity of our emotions.
As we shared an affectionate gaze, our souls danced in harmony, whispering promises of a future filled with love, passion, and unbreakable unity.
We shared three amazing days, brimming with joy and love. We played cards, danced in your beach house, and marvelled at the starry sky while holding hands. Our laughter echoed in the air as we engaged in a playful pillow fight. Each moment felt like a precious gem, etching its beauty deep within our hearts.
In those treasured moments, time stood still, as if the universe conspired to grant us a glimpse of paradise. Every glance, every touch, and every shared breath spoke volumes of our connection. The world faded into insignificance, leaving only the magic of our love enveloping us in its embrace.
You awakened within me a version of myself I had longed to discover. In your presence, my spirit soared, embracing life's sweetest joys. Your smile, radiant as the morning sun, was a testament to the happiness we found together.
It all felt too perfect, like a dream woven with delicate threads of joy and tenderness.
Flashback Over
He divulged everything to me. I envisioned our past. Those moments held profound beauty. I couldn't fathom how he erased those memories from my mind. I felt a twinge of anger, but I was relieved because we were together once again, and I was certain that he had been coerced into doing so.
"Why did you erase those cherished memories from my mind, Jonathan?" I questioned, my voice tinged with a mix of confusion and hurt.
