Chapter 38 Controlling My Powers
Chapter 38 Controlling My Powers
After a few weeks,
Jonathan’s love had transformed my life in ways I never thought possible, bringing unexpected beauty and joy into my world.
Every moment I spent with him was precious and enchanting. It had been a few weeks since we started living in his house, far away from the bustling city, nestled in the depths of a dense forest.
He had taken on the duty of training me to control my superpowers, teaching me to use them only when necessary, rather than constantly using them.
Even during our romantic moments, I push him away from me, and he grew weary of this behaviour. He eventually concluded that he should train me.
The training progressed smoothly under his loving guidance, and I successfully gained control over my powers.
I was certain that these powers were bestowed upon me to eradicate evil. If Katrina dared to harm Jonathan or my loved ones again, I vowed to end her with my own hands.
Jonathan, out of concern for my well-being and his fear of losing me, always opposed the idea of me confronting that woman. He wanted to protect me from harm.
However, he remained unaware of the intense yearning within my soul to exact revenge on her. The thought of her demise brought a sense of relief, a cathartic release from the pain she had inflicted upon us.
It was early morning, and he was asleep, nestled in my embrace like a small baby clinging to its mother. His face rested against my chest, and I could feel his calm breaths against my skin. The sight of him sleeping so peacefully brought a warm sense of contentment to my heart.
The memories of the pain we had endured prevented me from sleeping, knowing that our enemy was still alive, planning something dangerous. The mere thought of a life without him sent shivers down my spine. I couldn’t bear the thought of losing him once more and jeopardising the beautiful life I had finally found after countless years.
“I always wonder how you wake up before me every morning.” As he woke up, he spoke, his expression bemused.
“Because I love admiring my sleeping baby. You have no idea how adorable you look while you’re asleep.” I replied, flashing a smile.
“It’s strange that a vampire looks cute to you.” He let out a chuckle.
“You are cute, Jonathan.” I couldn’t help but pull his cheeks, a wide smile adorning my face.
Suddenly, he moved himself on top of me, and our eyes locked in an intense gaze. “And I am wild too.” He whispered, and our lips met in a tender kiss that seemed to stretch on for eternity.
Each kiss between us never left us breathless; instead, they seemed to extend for hours, fueled by an inexhaustible passion.
“I love you, Mia.” As we broke the kiss, he whispered and pecked my forehead with affection.
I reversed our positions with a swift motion, now straddling him. “My vampire, I love you more.” I confessed my love, planting a lingering kiss on his lips.
“You always take advantage of your power, Mia.” He remarked, flipping me onto my back once again.
“You also never miss an opportunity, Jonathan.” I retaliated, flipping us once more and pinning his hands against the soft mattress.
He attempted to change our position, but my powers as a Pari, surpassing even vampires, held him in place. We exchanged a wink and a smile.
“Jonathan, please, let me fight that bitch. I dream of a life where we can both live without limitations. You know only I can kill her.” I pleaded, causing his smile to fade as his lips turned downward with sadness.
I avoided bringing up the topic because it made Jonathan upset, and I didn’t want to see him feeling down.
I held his face, looking into his eyes. “Jonathan, I understand the pain she has caused you, but we have to put an end to it. Don’t you want to live a life free from fear?” I pleaded, observing the sadness in his expression.
My desire to eliminate that woman, Katrina, burned within me.
“I want a life of complete freedom with you, Mia, but I can’t bear the thought of putting your life at risk.” He responded in a sorrowful tone, his hands clasping my face.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before making my final decision. ‘Today, I have to convince him to devise a plan. I need to kill Katrina before she can harm us again.’
“Jonathan, please, let me take her down. She has to die, or else she won’t stop. We should act as soon as possible.”
Despite my efforts to persuade him, he was just as stubborn as I was about protecting my life.
“Okay, we’ll end her.” He agreed, startling me with his response. “But together,” he added, causing my lips to turn downward. I didn’t want to endanger his life, considering Katrina’s superior power compared to his own.
“Jonathan, not you please. Let me be the one to fight her.” I implored, causing him to frown.
“Are you out of your mind, Mia? Do you seriously believe I would send you alone to confront that woman? Don’t you understand who she is?” He growled with anger, grasping my arms.
“But...” I halt as he shifted our positions and captured my lips with a swift motion. His kiss was fervent, conveying the depth of his love for me. I responded with equal intensity.
“No matter how much time we have left, we will live and fight together until our last breath. I want your words that you won’t do anything to jeopardize your life.” He demanded in a stern tone.
“I promise you.” I affirmed, kissing his forehead. He smiled at me, pulling me into his warm embrace.
I nestled in his arms and a mischievous smile crossed my face as I pondered. ‘Promises and rules are meant to be broken, Jonathan. To eliminate Katrina, I will have to put my own life at risk. Your end is near, Katrina. No one can save you from me.’

He was busy preparing breakfast while I sat on the kitchen counter, watching him. Simultaneously, I stirred the vegetables in the pan from a distance, controlling the spoon’s movements solely through the power of my gaze.
“Done staring at your attractive boyfriend? Can you pass me the salt?” He turned to face me, pointing at the salt shaker placed next to me.
“Sure.” I raised the salt shaker in the air using my powers and moved towards him.
He stared at the salt shaker, now floating in front of his eyes. Just as he reached out to grab it, I swiftly pulled it back towards myself, enjoying teasing him with my supernatural abilities.
“You never miss an opportunity to tease me with your supernatural powers.” He glared at me while I chuckled at his playful frustration.
“Aww.” I hopped off the kitchen counter and approached him. I handed him the salt shaker with a smile, placing a kiss on his cheek.
Then I extended my hand towards the nearby wine glasses on the shelf, my eyes fixed on them intently. With a gentle motion of my fingers, the glasses lifted gracefully into the air, hovering before me in a mesmerizing dance.
Jonathan watched in awe as I effortlessly manipulated the objects with my mind. The glasses twirled and spun, forming intricate patterns in the air before settling back onto the shelf with a soft clink.
“That’s incredible, I,” Jonathan said, his voice filled with admiration. “You have truly mastered your powers.”
My eyes glowed with a mixture of pride & determination as I smiled. “I’ve had an excellent teacher.” I replied, my voice filled with gratitude.
As Jonathan reached out to embrace me, our bodies pressed close together, our lips met in a passionate kiss. The warmth of our love enveloped us, transcending the boundaries of our powers.
