Chapter 40 I can fly?
Chapter 40 I can fly?
“What? Are you serious, Jonathan? We’re going to jump from here?” I exclaimed in shock and disbelief, peering down the cliff. He chuckled, and my brows furrowed as I looked at him, awaiting an explanation.
“Don’t tell me you are afraid to jump down the cliff because this isn’t your first time.” As he said, I recalled how many times I had put my life in danger so that he comes to save me.
“But those were different circumstances.” I argued, but he continued to chuckle.
“Mia, if you’ve forgotten, let me remind you that you’re a pari, and you can fly.” He stated, leaving me astonished at this revelation. I had no idea I possessed the ability to fly, and the thrill of it coursed through me.
“Really? I can fly? But how?” I asked, filled with wonder and excitement.
“I’ll have to look that up.” He replied, suddenly scooping me up in his arms. “Trust me, I won’t let anything happen to you.” He reassured, his intense gaze meeting mine.
“I trust you more than I trust myself.” I whispered, planting a lingering kiss on his lips.
Without wasting a single second, he leapt off the cliff, carrying me in his arms as I tightly gripped his shirt. But midway, he let go of me and caught onto a branch, leaving me frightened.
“Jonathan!” I yelled, flailing my limbs as I fell.
However, to my amazement, wings emerged from my back, and instead of descending, I started ascending. I was flying like a free bird, revelling in the incredible sensation. I flew towards him, finding him grinning at me.
“You already knew how to make me fly,” I asked, hanging onto the branch beside him, and my wings folded neatly behind me.
He laughed. “It was so much fun to scare you.” He teased, earning a frown from me.
I broke the branch with my free hand, and we both started descending. He grabbed me by the waist, and we fell together.
As we plummeted, I gazed deeply into his eyes, expressing the profound trust I had in him. I wanted to convey that when I was with him, fear held no power over me because I knew he was there to protect me.
We plunged into the water and resurfaced, gasping for air. Balancing myself by grasping his shoulder, I noticed him smiling at me.
He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close. “You’re a daredevil, seriously.” He remarked.
“Yes, I am,” I replied, leaning in closer to his lips. But before I could kiss him, he suddenly stood far away from me.
“So, you want to play, huh?” I challenged, flying towards him.
As I approached, he swam further away. Swiftly, I flew after him, moving faster than his swimming pace. I could see his destination clearly, and finally, I caught up to him and carried him away with me, holding his hand. In a matter of seconds, we were back on the cliff.
That’s how he trained me, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
“I love the way you teach me.” I uttered, wrapping my arms around his neck and drawing closer to his lips.
He gives me a warm smile. “And I love how fast you’re learning everything, Mia.” he whispered before capturing my lips. We both leapt off the cliff, passionately and hungrily kissing each other.
It was an enchanting experience, kissing him in mid-air, the wind swirling around us. It felt like a heavenly embrace.
After their exhilarating kiss in mid-air, Jonathan and I continue our descent from the cliff, our lips still locked in a passionate embrace.
As we approach the surface of the water, we break apart, bracing ourselves for impact. We plunge into the cool depths, our bodies gracefully cutting through the water.
Emerging from the water, our laughter fills the air as we swim towards the shore, our arms wrapped around each other. We reach the sandy beach, water droplets glistening on our skin, and collapse onto the soft sand, catching our breath.
As we lie side by side, Jonathan reaches over and intertwines his fingers with mine, our hands fitting perfectly together. We gaze into each other’s eyes, a mix of love and excitement dancing between us.
“Today has been incredible.” I say, my voice filled with awe. “I never imagined I could fly or experience something so thrilling.”
Jonathan smiles, brushing a strand of wet hair away from my face. “You’re full of surprises, my love. I’m grateful to be by your side and share these extraordinary moments with you.”
We lay there, basking in the warm sunshine, content in each other’s presence.
As the sun begins its descent, casting a golden hue across the horizon, Jonathan and I sit together on the beach, our bodies wrapped in a cosy blanket. The air is filled with the soft sound of crashing waves and the gentle rustle of palm trees swaying in the breeze.
I lean against Jonathan’s chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat against my back. He holds me close, his arms providing a sense of security and comfort.
“Thank you for always pushing me to discover new things, Jonathan,” I say, my voice filled with sincerity. “You’ve shown me a world of possibilities I never knew existed.”
He presses a tender kiss to my temple, his breath warm against my skin. “Mia, my love, you have brought a sense of wonder and adventure into my life that I didn’t know was missing. I cherish every moment we share.”
At this moment, we watch as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. The colours reflect in Jonathan’s eyes, adding an ethereal glow to his already captivating gaze.
“I love you, Jonathan.” I whisper, my voice carrying my deepest emotions. “With you, I feel like I can conquer anything.”
He smiles, his eyes filled with adoration. “And I love you, Mia, with all my heart. You have brought light and joy into my life, and I promise to always be there for you, to support you, and to love you unconditionally.”
We lean in, our lips meeting in a tender kiss, sealing our love and the promises we’ve made to each other. Time seems to stand still as we savour the connection between us, the depth of our love evident in every touch.
As we pull away, we rest our foreheads together, gazing into each other’s eyes, feeling the warmth and intensity of our love. The world around us fades into the background, leaving only the two of us wrapped in a cocoon of affection.
