Losing a baby

Lucifer's POV

I had taken Ruthless out on a little run to stretch his hoofs when I turned around and noticed a mare being ridden on. I was baffled when I squinted my eyes in the darkness and noticed it was a woman riding a horse.

By this time? I decided to go through the other way and catch her unawares.

When I saw her from afar at the riverbank tying the horse close to a tree. The horse looked like Snowball and for a fact, I knew she did not like being ridden by anyone else except me and I was surprised as I began to run along a list of possible people who could have taken Snowball out by this time.

I did not need to think too much about it when the sudden swiftness of the person alerted me. A vampire and I had no other vampire in the pack house except Ashlyn. Then it dawned on me she was trying to get away and I went after her and caught up with her and we tumbled to the ground.

She was shocked and alarmed to see me and without dallying, she got off me and attempted to run again but I was quicker than her and grabbed her before she could move.

"Let go of me, you bastard! Let go of me!" She screamed hitting me in all possible ways that she could. Throwing her feeble hands on my arms and chest. Has no idea that it would not affect me.

I grabbed her by the shoulders angry that she had attempted to run away. Damn the four-eyed temptresses!

I lifted her and dumped her across my shoulders holding her in place and I could feel her body shaking in tears.

"I do not want to go back! I do not want to go back!" She cried out repeatedly.

"Let go of me you vulgar barbarian! Let go!" She cried again and she got really on my nerves that all I wanted was to throw her on the ground and stomp on her shrewish mouth but then she'd try to run away again and I had not the time to spare to chase after a woman.

I got closer to the pack house and saw the guards.

"Ruthless and Snowball are by the river. Fetch them." I ordered and they nodded and walked away. Still carrying a yelling and crying Ashlyn on my shoulder, I walked into the pack house, and Sofia and the rest of my mistresses were standing in the living room.

"We've been looking for her. Where did you find her?" Sofia asked coming towards me.

I waved her aside in anger. "Leave me," I said in a brittle, angry, and shallowed tone that took her aback.

"Just let me go. I do not want to be here!" Ashlyn yelled again. "They're all going to kill me." She said and I wondered briefly what she meant by that, but I let it be.

My bone of contention was that she tried to escape. I walked up the stairs and into her room and dumped her rudely on the bed. She gasped and scrambled to her feet.

"You devilish, vulgar, inhumane barbarian!" She yelled out, tears dropping down her cheeks.

"Enough!" I yelled vehemently, shaking with anger. Shaken by her tears and I did not want that. "I've had just about enough of your foul language, one more vile word of me from your mouth I'll make you regret the day you were born," I said to her, I was darkened with rage.

She did not back down this time. "I already regret the day I was born into the world. Not only am I cursed by the earth, but I'm also cursed by my family, I'm cursed by the world and I do not care if you hang me or pull out my heart right now, it will be more satisfying than living in this world with someone like you!"

"Ashlyn Ambrosia!" I roared in anger raising a finger at her in a warning.

"What?!" She yelled back. "I'll not sit back anymore and watch you and your mistresses make me a subject of ridicule. A toy to be played with. Not only am I being used by you, but I'm also going to get used by them. By a set of women who plan to murder me for your sake? I refuse to stay here any longer! Release me at once!" She yelled in a demanding voice as the tears uncontrollably flowed from down her cheeks.

I was holding myself back. Holding myself from doing anything I'd regret later but she was pushing me to the wall.

"And I've made it clear to you several times that you will never leave the confinement of these walls! This is my town! My kingdom! My rules! My games! Everything in this goddamn city belongs to me including you!"

"I do not belong to you! You took me forcefully!" She yelled at me in her tear-stricken voice.

"Be it whatever you think. I've claimed you mine. I've made you mine! I've taken over the whole of you! Your honor. Your pride. Your body. Every inch of your goddamned body is all mine!" I bellowed at her making sure that this time it sank in her head that there was no way out for her in this.

"I hate you Lucifer Saunron! I fucking hate you! You're straight from hell!" She yelled wracking in sobs and I hated seeing her tears.

"You're right. That was where I was conceived." I said to her and turned to leave.

"You should have remained there! You're not fit to be in this world! You're a monster! A hypocrite! You're worst than my father!" She yelled out and in blinding fury, I pushed her and she fell, hitting her back on the wooden rod of the bedstand. She gasped.

"Do not ever compare me to your egocentric father!" I yelled at her and walked away, worried that if I stayed any longer, I'll feel guilty for what I'd done. I brushed past Roselia on my way out. Ashlyn pushed me to my limits and she was getting on my nerves this time.

Ashlyn's POV

I felt the full impact of his hands as I fell to the ground. I felt a sharp pain below my abdomen and it pierced right in between my legs.

I muffled a scream as the pain increased. What was happening to me? Why this deep pain from a fall? I groaned biting my lips to hold back the fresh tears that were surfacing.

"Goodness me!" I heard Roselia exclaim. I looked over in her direction to see her panic.

"Roselia," I whimpered due to the sharp pain.

She came towards me. "Are you okay milady?" She asked.

I shook my head negatively. Then I felt something thick in between my legs running down my thighs and when I dipped my hand inside and brought it out, I saw blood and my eyes grew red at it.

"Roselia, what's happening to me?" I asked panicking.

She pulled me up worriedly as she stared at the thick blood that just dropped on the floor.

"Alas! It's what I had suspected." She said as she made me sit on the bed holding my hands.

"What did you suspect Roselia? I've never fallen and it resulted in this kind of bleeding." I said to her.

She looked at me with tears shimmering in her eyes and fighting for words to say. "Roselia?" I called gently still in a bit of pain.

"You've lost your child." She said to me as the tiniest of tears slipped out of her eyes, hanging at the line of her nose.

"What?" I exclaimed softly staring at her in shock.
