His redemption

Ashlyn's POV

I sat on the ground in the study room crying my eyes out till noon. If I could believe that he had nothing to do with Celine, why does he not believe that I have nothing to do with Stye?

I stood up from the floor wiping my tears. Crying would not solve my problem. I have to prove my innocence.

I walked out of the study room and bumped into Celine.

"Pardon me," she said smirking.

At that moment, all of my frustrations and anger rose again. "You bitch!" I said to her in anger as I pulled her by the hair.

"Have you gone crazy? Let me go!" She yelled at me.

I refused. "Listen to me you nitwit, I know you have a hand in everything happening to me. I just know it." I said to her.

She freed herself from my grasp. "Do not accuse me of your infidelity, Ashlyn," she said in anger. "I did not ask you to spread your legs for another man to lay with you." She added snickering.

"You know I did not do it. I'll prove my innocence I promise you." I said to her and she snickered.

"That's if you remain in this house. Lucifer is very upset and would never forget what his eyes saw today. His most treasured has been touched!" She exclaimed, laughing as she walked away.

I swallowed. How was I going to face him in this house?

I locked myself up in my room till nightfall. I did not want to speak with anyone and as I sank into melancholy, tears slipped down my eyes every minute as images of his murderous look flashed through my head. How would I prove my innocence? How would I get to meet Stye and make him confess that he injected Propofol into my system?

Different thoughts went through my mind and halted the instant I heard a knock on my door. I went towards it and slowly opened it to find Roselia standing in front of me.

"May I come in?" She asked me.

I shrugged and nodded moving aside to let her in. I could not refuse her. She was too good to me.

"Is everything alright?" I asked her as I closed the door behind me.

"I should be asking you, milady, how are you taking this?" She said to me.

"I did not do it and if Lucifer does not believe me so be it then," I said to her.

She sighed. "I believe you, mi'lady. I have a presumption that someone somewhere is making all these problems befall you and the Laird." She said to me.

I walked away from the door. "It's no other than Celine, Roselia. She threatened me a day after she arrived here that she'll ensure my wedding with Lucifer gets called off and she succeeded. I confronted her and she denied it." I said to her as I sat on the bed.

She sat beside me and I placed my head on her lap and she stroked my hair.

"If your instincts tell you Celine is responsible for all these mishaps then you must try to expose her." She said to me.

"But how, Roselia? My wedding dress that night had the smell of blood all over it and yet there was no sign of a blood stain anywhere. It's witchcraft Roselia and I do not know how to prove it." I said to her.

"We'll find a way to prove it mi'lady. I've never liked Celine. Sometimes I believe she cast a spell on the alpha so her clan could not be taken in as prisoners for their treachery." She said to me.

I sighed. I was not sure she did. If she did, she could easily manipulate Lucifer again and he would have had her out by now without her going through all these corners.

"I just want Lucifer to believe me. Is that so hard for him too?" I inquired as I felt hot tears burning my eyes again.

"He's blinded by what he saw milady and you of all people know how much the alpha cherishes you. To the extent of not letting another lay a finger on you. He's jealous and hurt. Believe me when I say his love for you will win over this new hate." She said to me and I sighed again and wiped a tear from my eyes.

Lucifer's POV

I stood by the window of my room looking out at the dark and starry sky. No one told me that was how it felt to be hurt by someone you truly love, want, and desire. No one told me that I would experience such heartbreaking trauma, not even my birth stars said this too.

All that appeared in my head was her naked body on the bed and Stye atop her. The mere thought of it boiled the blood in my veins and the anger and hurt resurfaced again more painful than the first.

I groaned as I turned around picking up the mahogany chair and smashing it on the wall.

"I believe you know that would not solve this problem." I heard Celine's voice and that was when I noticed her standing at the door. When did she open it that I did not know?

"You were so engrossed in your thoughts to know when I stepped in." She said like she read my thoughts.

"What do you want, Celine?" I questioned her.

"To soothe all your worries away, Lucifer. You should not be this distraught over a whore. What were you expecting from her?" She said walking closer to me.

"Do not move an inch closer to me. Stay right there," I warned and she stopped staring at me in puzzlement. "You all women are the same. You make me sick," I said to her. Ashlyn had made me believe all women were not

the same till she did this to me.

"I am not Ashlyn, Lucifer, I'll never hurt you." She said with a warm yet pathetic expression to me.

"Just stop it!" I yelled at her. These same words reminded me of Ashlyn. She stared at me. "I want to make one thing clear to you. The fact that I feel betrayed by Ashlyn does not mean I'll let you into my life. Read my lips, I do not need you." I said to her.

"Lucifer, we've.." She began.

"Get out," I said not wanting to hear any of her nonsense about whatever we shared in the past. The past was gone. It was history but yet I let her stay in this house. She should be grateful for that.

She gave me one long-lasting look before walking away. As soon as she closed the door behind her, I fell on the bed and groaned bitterly.

"Why did you do this to me, Ash? Why?" I muttered as I closed my eyes in pain.

Ashlyn's POV

Days went by and my worst nightmare was confirmed. Lucifer became like a stranger to me and I rarely saw him anymore in the house. His silent treatment was better than this coldness he had for me. Every night, I watch from my window how Ripper and Kill would hold his staggering body into the house. It dawned on me that he was getting himself drunk.

My heart would clench at the sight and go to him but he would not speak to me. Rather he would tell Ripper or Kill or Stealth or Rage, anyone there at the moment to tell me to leave.

Today I made up my mind to speak with him whether he liked it or not. I could not continue being this way with him anymore. The coldness was killing me.

I waited till nightfall when he would return to the house to speak with him. I was seated on the couch waiting patiently for him when I saw Ripper.

"Mi'lady," Ripper said with a bow.

I nodded with a smile. "How're you doing?" I asked.

"Fine mi'lady. What are you doing up late?" He asked.

"Waiting for Lucifer," I said to him.

He nodded. "Hopefully this confusion would be cleared, init?" He asked and I shrugged and nodded.

Just then Lucifer walked into the house on his own with no one holding him which meant he did not go out to drink tonight I believe. Ripper greeted him and walked away.

Lucifer turned towards the stairs.

"Lucifer," I called him as I stood up from the couch. He stopped in his strides without turning around.

"We need to talk," I said to him.

"We have nothing to talk about." He said without looking back as he continued to walk away.

"Is this it uh? Is this what you promised me? Is this how you planned on standing by me?" I asked him.

"Do not give me that cock and bull," he said turning around with fiery eyes. "I fulfilled every bit of my promise but, did you fulfill yours?" He inquired in anger.

Good. I have got his attention. "I did not hurt you Lucifer. I swear on my life. Style injected me and I fell unconscious. Nothing happened between us." I said to him.

"Do not give me that!" He said furiously. "I do not want to hear it. I do not want to hear any of it!" He yelled at me.

"You have to listen to me!" I said raising my voice as I felt hurt all over again. "I did nothing!" I said to him.

"Enough of your lies. I saw with my own eyes and those images never want to leave my head. Do you know what I am going through? I'm in pain! I feel suffocated! I feel betrayed!" He said to me and I could see all of those emotions in his eyes and feel them in his voice.

"What about me?!" I yelled back tears clouding my eyes. "Do you know how I feel?!"

He stared hard at me and turned away. "Your sight disgusts me and I feel nothing but hate toward you." He said to me.

The tears dropped and I felt like a knife was pierced into my heart.

"Tell me that this relationship does not matter to you. Tell me that you do not love me. Tell me I mean nothing to you and I'll walk out of your life forever without looking back." I said to him.

"This relationship does not matter to me anymore." He said with a sideways glance.

"Do you still love me?" I asked him.

"You mean nothing to me." He said without hesitation and then walked away. I crumbled to the ground. His words echoed in my head. He did not love me anymore. The tears finally fell as I clenched my heart.

I should leave this place. I was no longer valued by Lucifer anymore. He hated me now, so much.

"I'll leave this place. It's better to leave this place." I said to myself standing up. I could easily compel him to forget what he saw but no, it will convince everyone that I was truly guilty of what I was accused of. It was better to go away.

I wiped my eyes and advanced towards the door.

"Where are you going mi'lady?" I heard Roselia's voice behind me. I turned around and the tears began to fall afresh again.

"Away from here, Roselia. Lucifer does not want me anymore." I said to her.

"Just a little trouble and obstacle in your way and you're already giving up mi'lady? Is that how weak your love is?" She asked me.

"My love is not weak, Roselia, but I should leave from here," I said walking away.

"You cannot leave mi'lady. The Laird needs you." She said to me.

"He does not need me!" I screamed out turning around.

"He does! You're his redemption! The one who chose to heal his soul! You're the one meant for him and no one else!" She voiced out and I stared at her in confusion.

"What do you mean by I am his redemption?" I asked her staring straight into her eyes.
