Everlasting love
Ashlyn's POV
I had left the pack house earlier that morning to the river and that was when a shot was fired at me leaving me unconscious.
I was regaining consciousness when I heard Lucifer renounce his position as the Laird and when Hawking had let his guard down and I took the chance to take the gun from him without wasting time, I fired the rifle.
He'll let loose as bullets and arrows fly around. Lucifer transformed immediately and as an arrow was fired toward me, he stood in front of me grabbing the arrow and breaking it into two before running over to the shooter to rip his head off.
His comrades too had shifted and many of the pack warriors were coming out of the territory. The battle was fierce as the battalion of rebels took over the fighting too.
Lucifer's ex-mistresses all charged toward me and had also transformed into their forms except Sofia. Celine transformed into a werewolf and Sia, Juliette and Meredith transformed into lycans.
I let Iona take control and shifted into her form and charged toward them. I scratched with my claws and bit with my teeth. These were the strongest weapon of a werewolf.
I easily took Celine down but Sia, Juliette, and Meredith in their lycan form were not easy to deal with.
They surrounded me, circling me as the battle around us got fiercer.
"This is going to be your end, Ashlyn," Sofia said to me while she stood outside the circle the trios were creating around me.
I snarled at her. I was not going to back down easily. The trios bent down on me trying to suppress me to the ground and use their claws to brutally hurt me and I leaped up to free myself the force I used pushed them away a bit from me and I ran out from their midst.
Then I saw an arrow flying in my direction and I snatched Sofia she screamed as I placed her in front of me and the arrow penetrated her instead. She dropped to the ground dying in her pool of blood.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw Lucifer and his comrades fighting with the alphas of the rebels and a few were running away.
From the top of the hill, I saw a man positioned with an arrow and sent them toward Lucifer. The one arrow instantly became three and I ran toward Lucifer. It was like he knew the arrows were coming too as we both grabbed each arrow and the last brushed past his fur.
He growled like a wounded Lycan and jumping on the rocks that led to the hill, he leaped towards the man who was trying to get away and tore him into two.
The battle went on for hours and finally, the rest of the rebels left raised the white flag in surrender. Already many lay dead on the ground and an arrow unsuspecting arrow had pierced through Celine too. Sia and her musketeers tried to run away and Ripper, Rage, Stealth, and Kill surrounded them. They were not to be spared for their treason.
The rest of the rebels too were rounded up and bound in chains and led back to the territory.
The smell of blood was everywhere and the scavengers of the sky were already hovering over the dead bodies on the ground.
Lucifer set the transformed Lycans' bodies on fire and let them burn to the ground before following the rest of the pack back to the house.
Roselia and the other women of the pack house were outside the house each of them with plaids in their hands ready to cover us all when we shift back to human form.
They threw the plaids over us as we began to shift back. I stood up completely in my human form with the plaid around me and so were the others too including Lucifer.
I walked into the house. They knew what to do. Perhaps the rebels would become prisoners and be spared or they'll be hanged on the gallows.
I got into my room and went into the bathroom to get myself cleaned. I stayed in the bathtub dallying in there as I heard voices downstairs. I suspected it to be Lucifer taking actions on the rebels at least to certify that there would be another coup de etat.
I finally got out of the bathtub and don on one of the dresses in my closet. I turned around to find Lucifer leaning on the wall.
My heart raced. "How long have you been there?" I asked him as I advanced towards the mirror. Why did I not hear the door open?
"Long enough to see you dress up." He said to me. He was already dressed too.
"Alright," I said simply. "And the rebels?" I asked him.
"They all claimed to have been pressurized and deceived by Hawking so I decided to make them prisoners in the dungeon never to see the sun again." He said to him.
"Hmm," I said as I brushed my hair. "And Celine, Sia, and the rest?" I asked him.
"Hung for their treachery." He said to me.
Was this the end of my trouble? "I thought Celine meant so much to you, why then did you have her hanged?" I asked him and I could feel his eyes on my back.
"Not after what she did to us." He said.
I stared at him from the mirror and our eyes met. I looked away. I still felt a little bit of anger for his distrust towards me.
I dropped the brush and turned to leave the room. "Ash?" He called me in a low tone. I paused but did not look back. "I'm sorry." He apologized.
I turned around raising a brow. "For what exactly please?" I asked him.
He advanced towards me. "Everything Ash. For not trusting you enough. Love is about trust and I failed on that part. I am very sorry. I beg you to please forgive me." He said to me.
"And what if I do not?" I asked him raising a tilted chin.
"You have every right to be angry at me and.." he began and then stopped when the door burst open. It was Vino.
"Alpha, the vampires are outside the house." He said in a perplexed tone.
"On my way," Lucifer said.
I raised a brow. Vampires? Then it dawned on me it must be my brother.
"Darius!" I yelled out and ran out of the room and raced down the stairs and out of the house and indeed my brother and a Clutch of vampires were standing outside the pack house.
"Darius!" I exclaimed in tearful glee as I ran into his arms. He held me to himself tightly.
"My little lovely sister." He said to me kissing my forehead repeatedly. I giggled. It's been so long since I've seen him.
Then I realized he was in the Nightwing pack house and Lucifer had threatened to kill him the next time he sees him. I panicked.
"You need to leave Darius. He'll kill you if he meets you here." I said to him.
"Not without you Ash." He said to me and just then Lucifer stepped out of the house and I turned around to see him standing three steps away from us. His look was expressionless. What was he thinking? I wondered.
Lucifer's POV
I watched as Darius held Ash and I stared at him. "What do you want Darius?" I asked him.
"Tell your men to lower their weapons Lucifer," He said gesturing to the warriors who were on guard with their swords and arrows. I nodded for them to lower their weapons and with a grudge they did.
"I'm not here to fight with you Lucifer, I just want my sister." He said to me.
I stared at him and then at Ash. Maybe I had denied her of her only true family for too long. I nodded. Ash stared at me in shock.
"You're letting me go with him?" She asked me.
"I have come to understand that when you love someone very much and there comes a time for you to choose between your love and her happiness, I have to choose her happiness," I said to her and it ached me to say so.
Darius beamed. "Finally little sister, you're coming home." He said turning to Ash who just stared at me.
"You're letting me go?" She questioned me.
"Your happiness matters," I said to her even though it was killing me.
"My happiness lies with you!" She exclaimed to the shock of her brother.
"What?" He questioned.
She turned to him. "Forgive me brother but I cannot return with you to Royal Mile." She said to him.
"Why? If you are bothered about your father and our brothers then you need not to. Father is dead." He said and Ash gasped.
"How? What happened?" She asked.
"In his bid to recreate his empire forcefully, he lost control. Total control of everything when he went to seek an alliance with his foes and one of his enemies drove a stake into his heart, pulled it out, and burnt it." He said.
Ash heaved. "And Otis and Joshua?" She asked.
"Living their lives the way they've always wanted. I'm the new Clutch leader. You can come home now Ash, even mother wants to see you." He said.
Ash looked down and then at him. She shook her head and walked up to me. "I've found my home, the place I'll call my home." She said covering her hands with mine and I stared at her in surprise and love. She chose me over her family. Was this not the purest of love?
"Ash.." Darius began to say.
She shook her head. "I'm fine here Darius and I do not wish to return home and if I must do, I'll only come home to see everyone and show them the man who loves and appreciate me but I will not stay." She said to him.
"You've fallen in love with him," Darius said and Ash nodded.
"My tormentor has become my lover." She said and I turned her around to look at me.
"You're not leaving me?" I asked her.
"Why would I?" She questioned.
"I hurt you these past few days Ash," I said to her.
She shook her head. "I know everything Lucifer. I know all about your birth stars and I am your redemption." She said to me.
"Roselia told you," I said to her and she nodded
"Is that why you're staying back?" I inquired.
I shook my head. "I'm staying back because I love you Lucifer." She said to me and I smiled wrapping her into my arms and kissing her deeply.
"I love you more Ashlyn Ambrosia," I said to her. "It's high time you changed that name to mine," I said to her and she laughed with tears in the corner of her eyes.
"Today?" She asked me.
"Yes. Today." I said to her. Darius coughed and we both turned to look at him.
"If this is what you want little sister then I'm in support and Lucifer Saunron, do not hurt my sister." He said to me and I grinned.
"Never again," I said looking into Ash's eyes. "I'll always trust you no matter what," I said and entangled my lips with hers savoring her everlasting love.

**Four years later**
Ashlyn's POV
Lucifer was playing in the field with Amber, our four years old little daughter. They bonded so well that one would not expect a daughter to be so close to her father than her mother.
Lucifer lifted her in mid-air and she giggled out.
I gazed lovingly at the one-year-old boy toddling around before me. Michael, another product of the love Lucifer and I shared. He had my eyes but took his father's stubborn attitude at such a tender age. Not just him but Amber too. None of them was anything like their once weak and spineless mother.
Lucifer had wanted to give him an outrageous and vicious name Fury like other males in the house but I refused and he too adamantly wanted his son to bear one of the names of the Nightwing in the end, I succumbed, and accepted Lightning. Lightning Saunron. But still, I called him what I wanted, Michael, and yet Lightning was sticking to everyone's tongue more than the name I gave him. It was only a few months ago that with a grudge I accepted that Lightning was very much more catchy than Michael.
Over the years I went to Royal Mile to see my family. My mother was like a shadow of herself but still managed to smile and talk whenever I came around. The death of her husband had its effects on her.
My two other brothers were still living their lives the way they wanted while Darius was building a new empire.
When Amber was born and after many months taken to see their mother, her excitement knew no bounds. That was the first time in many years I was seeing her smile genuinely. I smiled at the thought. Should I say in the end my life turned out well?
Who was I joking with? Of course, it did and in the most unplanned and tormenting way, it did unfold into something better.
That very day Darius came to take me away four years ago, I got married to Lucifer and became Ashlyn Saunron. How everything worked out fine for the both of us was incredible and Lucifer was rid of the full moon spell. He was no longer under its control of it. He no longer transformed into his demonic beast and I had my hunger for blood under control too.
Michael walked towards me in haste with his wobbly legs that were not firm to the ground yet as his sister ran towards me with a huge grin plastered on her face as she fell into my arms alongside her baby brother.
Lucifer walked up to us grinning. "I should call an artist to paint this on his canvas. This is a sight to behold." He said to us.
I laughed. His sense of humor did not fade over the years.
"It would be lovely if Lightning isn't sticking out his tongue at me now," Amber said sticking out her tongue too at Michael. Even she called her brother Lightning.
Lucifer chuckled and Amber stood up. "Catch me, daddy!" She yelled laughing as she ran up the field.
"You're not faster than me!" Lucifer said going after her.
I chuckled as I swooped Lightning into my arms, I mean Michael, oh my, the name was getting stuck on my tongue too. He giggled as I held him.
"Someday my child, I'll tell you a story about a spineless vampire hybrid and a cruel Lycan and how their fate was entwined with each other," I said to him and all he did was giggle. Someday, he'll understand.
I walked up to Lucifer who had caught Amber in his arms and on seeing me, he lowered her down and placed a kiss on my forehead when I got closer. He held my hand and with the other, he held Amber's, and with Michael in my free arm, we walked together towards the hill and the sun setting over its horizon.
In the end, I found peace and love, and most of all I found my home.
