The film editor said distressingly, “Qingsi, you…have to be more considerate towards the cast and crew, don’t you think? There are nearly a hundred people. A large expense is incurred daily just for meals and accommodation.”

“The expenditure for the cast and crew is not my expenditure. Since the director’s so great that he can pull in help from everywhere, then just keep spending all that money.”

“Qingsi, I know you’re unhappy, but we can’t do anything about it. We have no idea who is spreading the news, but don’t worry. We’ll do a proper investigation. Right now, nothing is more important than the timeline to shoot our movie. If we keep dragging it on, we can’t make it for this year’s winter holiday slot.”

Yan Qingsi continued to show her smug expression. “Be it then if we can’t make it. I don’t mind at all.”

The director was too ashamed to meet Yan Qingsi in person. However, as he was unable to bear with the situation any longer, he told the film editor and assistant director to go and coax her into completing the shoot.

If it was easier for Yan Qingsi to come to a compromise, she would not have been that difficult to deal with.

The producer looked at Yan Qingsi’s stubborn face and turned to Yue Tingfeng and said, “CEO Yue, look at her. You invested so much money in this movie, you can’t just let all that go to waste, right?”

Yue Tingfeng was even smugger than Yan Qingsi. Ignoring the film editor, he lowered his head and gave Yan Qingsi a kiss, saying, “How about I waste my money to invest in a few other films just so you can have a bit of fun?”

With that sentence alone, the film editor was no longer able to spit out the words he had earlier prepared. He simply wanted to shout, ‘F*ck.’

Could the rich young man in front of him have some decency, at least?

Yan Qingsi grinned to the point where her eyes formed an arc too. “Sure…”

The producer held on to the assistant director as he thought to himself, ‘Motherf*cker, I’m going to vomit blood.’

Defeated, the two of them went back. In fact, they already knew that Yan Qingsi had a temper. It was impossible that Yan Qingsi did not know about the negative comments and news being spread out there by the cast and crew. She might as well say that the director incited that on purpose.

Until then, the cast and crew of The Scent of Her had yet to respond to the online commotion. Plenty of reporters phoned in, but none received a response. They only knew about those that went viral online.

Under those circumstances, there was no way Yan Qingsi would agree to come back to work.

Until the cast and crew come clean about it, she would not continue the filming. She would rather let the movie be stuck in a rut than to suffer such injustice.

Not long after Yan Qingsi went back into the room, Ji Mianmian came running with a cell phone in hand. “Sis, Sis, there’s a new development…”

Zeng Yingying’s manager posted on her microblog to confirm that the police have already commenced their investigation into the cast and crew, believing that the police would uphold justice for Yingying as well as everyone else.

Zeng Yingying reposted her manager’s post with a line of respectful words, ‘Our policemen are hardworking. Hopefully, all of this will disappear once the investigation is done.’

That post alone received countless of likes and an upwards of ten thousand comments showing support.

Everyone was anticipating the policemen to charge that wh*re Yan Qingsi, thereby preventing people like her from stirring up any more trouble in the entertainment industry.

Yue Tingfeng smiled coldly. “That’s right, I believe that when the time comes, the policemen will give everyone an unexpected conclusion.”

Yan Qingsi¹ did not pay much attention to the phone since she already knew—without even looking—that the comments were filled only with curses. She frowned and looked at Ji Mianmian’s chest. When Ji Mianmian was handing over the phone, Yan Qingsi caught a glimpse inside, noticing a few indistinct red blotches.

Being well-acquainted with the ways of the world, Yan Qingsi needed only a brief glance to know what those blotches were.

She asked, “Mianmian, what did you do last night?”

Ji Mianmian scratched her own head. “Sleeping? I had a good sleep and woke up only after the sun came up.”
