Yan Qingsi shook her head. “I’ll skip breakfast for now. It’s not too late to have it when I come back later.”
Yue Tingfeng caressed her cheek and brushed her lips with his thumb, which was stained red instantly, before replying with a smile, “I’ll go with you. Wait for me to get dressed.”
Yan Qingsi gave it some thought and said, “Alright, but you can’t go in with me. You’ll wait for me in the car.”
Yue Tingfeng rejected her immediately. “No can do, I’ll attend the funeral with you.”
“Ye Jiangong isn’t stupid. He won’t set traps for me at that sort of place. Listen to me, alright?” Based on seniority in the family, she should refer to Ye Lingzhi as her stepmother, but the resentment between the Ye family and her was too deep.

“Of course. By the way, there is something I need to inform you. Someone was investigating you in Country M recently, and the bad news is…specifically derogatory information about you…”
The smile on Yan Qingsi’s face froze immediately. “Who is he?”
“Sorry, I couldn’t identify him. Someone was investigating everything about you without any specific target before this too, but this time… the search was well-directed.”
