Chapter 900 - I Cannot Sleep Without You!
Grandpa Su was shocked when he heard that. Su Zhen was the best mahjong player in their family. Usually, when they played mahjong every Chinese New Year, he would always emerge as the top player. Yet now, he had lost all his money within an hour.
How good was this Yan Qingsi?
He walked over, not addressing anyone along the way. He craned his neck to take a look. Yan Qingsi’s hand was not that great though.
However, after observing her for a while, he had nothing to say. She did not have a good hand, but her skills were excellent. She did not throw out a single tile that someone else would want.
He walked over to the back of Su Little Six. He saw that Su Little Six was playing haphazardly, and flung his hand out and knocked his head carelessly. “How can you go on like this…”
Su Little Six wiped the sweat off his forehead. “Grandpa. Come, come here… You’re the most virtuous and respectable here. Help us to take control of the situation.”
Mrs. Yue took a fan and cooled Yan Qingsi. “Qingsi, don’t be afraid of your grandpa. Make them lose everything tonight.”
Yan Qingsi gulped. This…was not going to go well.
‘The most respectable person went into the Mahjong War, it would be better if I lost once or twice for him.’
Yan Qingsi held back against Grandpa Su, purposely throwing out two important tiles, but she won anyway. Grandpa Su played until midnight. It was until he really could not take it anymore that he went to bed in a disgruntled mood.
They continued playing until two in the morning when Yan Qingsi really could not go on and had to sleep then the crowd dissipated. Only Yan Qingsi held a seat throughout the entire night; the Su family had constantly rotated three members among themselves to play.
However, it seemed that it was not of much use.
“This won’t do,” the third uncle’s wife yawned when everyone was leaving. “I’ll definitely get my revenge in another two days. Let’s play through the whole night…”
Yan Qingsi smiled, nodding her head. “Sure.”
Yue Tingfeng took Yan Qingsi to her room. They were not sharing a room together. After all, they did not have as much freedom in the Su’s house compared to their own house.
Yue Tingfeng was staying in the room next to Yan Qingsi’s. “You can’t sleep if I’m not around,” he said, tugging on her hand, “you have to tell me to go to your room in the middle of the night!”
Yan Qingsi gave him a side-glance. “I’m dead tired. Don’t disturb me. Go and sleep.”
“You really don’t lose sleep if I’m not with you?”
Yan Qingsi shook her head. “Nope…”
Yue Tingfeng leaned against her. “But I will! I can’t sleep without you.”
Yan Qingsi could not help but laugh. Yue Tingfeng was seriously acting like a spoiled child. She patted his face. “Good boy. If you can’t sleep, just look at my photos. You secretly took so many of me anyway.”
Yue Tingfeng’s ears turned red. He had been found out. “How can the photo ever be better looking than the real person?”
Yan Qingsi pinched Yue Tingfeng’s cheek. “All right. Don’t make a fuss. I’m really tired today, so I can’t entertain you.”
Yue Tingfeng felt his heart ached when he saw the exhaustion written all over her face.
“All right. I’ll see you off here, milady.”
“Good night.” Yan Qingsi stood on her tiptoes and pecked on Yue Tingfeng’s cheek.
She turned around and entered the room. Yue Tingfeng caressed the spot where he had been kissed and chuckled idiotically.
He knew that Yan Qingsi was extremely tired today. They had traveled for half a day, and when they arrived here, they did not get much rest before she had to go for a shoot in the afternoon. She had to rush back in the evening too. She should have been able to rest earlier, but she had accompanied the entire Su family to play mahjong until the middle of the night. Honestly, she could have declined the request, but she did not.
It was because she thought that they were Yue Tingfeng’s relatives, and she could not let him feel awkward—she could not trouble him.
Yan Qingsi did not say anything, but his heart ached even more when he saw everything.
The most shocking part was that she had forced herself to go on, playing until two in the morning.
When she went into the room, Yan Qingsi took a quick shower and set her alarm. Then she sent a text to Little Xu, telling him to pick her up in the morning. Right after that, she practically fell asleep the moment her head crashed into the pillow. She really was too tired.
