Xiao Xu stood by the door and rang the doorbell, but no one answered. Panic gripped him and he whipped out his phone. He was ready to call the police when the door creaked open.
The pale, ghastly face of Yan Qingsi soon appeared. She looked like she had just walked out of the shower. Beads of water dripped from her hair as her fragile body swayed unsteadily.
Xiao Xu immediately rushed forward to help her. He supported her by the arm and guided her in. “Miss, are you alright? Are you having gastric problems?”
Yan Qingsi ignored his question. “Do you have a cigarette?”
“Is Gents acceptable?”
“Sure.”
Xiao Xu fumbled with his pack of cigarettes and pulled out a stick for Yan Qingsi. Then, he lit the cigarette for her.
While Yan Qingsi was abroad, she would smoke a cigarette whenever she had gastric. It was not an addiction, just a habit.
Her deathlike pallor appearance worried worried Xiao Xu. He said, “Miss Qingsi, you don’t look well. Are you feeling alright?”
Yan Qingsi blew out a smoke circle and replied, “Buy me some gastric pills.”

“Sure.”
