Surprise meet
Tunde held out his hand sideways; Shegz brought out a gun knowing exactly what his boss wanted without question, he took his time to first attach a silencer before handing it over to his boss. Seeing this, Aaliyah's eyes went wild with fear.
Josh was flabbergasted; 'what does he need a gun for' he wondered and wanted to interrupt, but was stopped by Mide with a word "Don't! You don't give unsolicited advice to a man on how to run his household" Mide whispered to Josh
"Oh my God! Boss don't kill me! please don't kill me! I'm truly sorry. I won't do it again. I only wanted to help, I thought..."
"You thought!?..." Tunde interrupted her "No you did not think. You obviously weren't thinking when you decided to be a lone ranger. Perhaps I should just kill you myself right now since you have a death wish?"
"No, I don't have a death wish. Please don't kill me, boss..." She begged hysterically
"I did not last this long doing what I do by being foolish! I take risks but I only take calculated risks that don't put my men in danger...and I've never lost a member of my team. You know that.
So the next time your brain decided to shrink to the size of a koala's and you want to make a dangerous decision, do me the favor of thinking about your grandmother first alright?" He asked, his tone of voice suddenly switched to calm and soothing,
"Yes sir" Aaliyah whispered "I'm really sorry"
"Just get the fuck out of my presence right now, please" Tunde replied to her apology. Aaliyah quickly got up from her knees and left the room.
Josh on his part was surprised and wondered 'Wasn't he very angry a moment ago? How can he just flick his emotions like a switch just like that?'
When she got outside she sat on one of the chairs placed outside the conference room and first put herself together. After which she composed a text to Ibrahim informing him about what she was yet to add to her report. The appointment she already scheduled with Jaye Jamal.
"She was foolish but you know she did a good job." Mide broke the silence after Aaliyah left
"Yes I know and I'm proud of her as regards that; because she was not trained to be a field agent, what she did took some guts to achieve," Tunde said with a smile.
"At the same time, I'm also very angry and disappointed in her. For somebody who knows the rules and how things are done here, what she did was very dangerous and foolish; she might have been killed you know
Would you have shot her though?" Josh asked to satisfy his curiosity. He wanted to know if Tunde was just bluffing with the gun
"Yes, I would have...just to let her know how painful it feels to take a bullet." He replied frankly
Ibrahim then showed him the text he just received from Aaliyah. "She badly wants to be a field agent boss" he chuckled
"Then start with her training immediately. There's still some days before Wednesday."
~~~~~
It's been a long, boring day for Abby. Sitting on her butt and sorting through applications all day, especially when she was missing her boyfriend was not fun at all
Now she's lying down on the couch inside his office when they should be home cozying up to each other.
Test week would be starting on Monday at her university and since she will be staying at the hostel for a week or more, alone time with him right now is very important to her being before she goes to school.
The door was pushed opened and Abby immediately stood up from where she was lying and rushed into his arms.
"Are you done with your meeting? Can we please go home now?" She looked up at him and pleaded with her soulful eyes
"Sure baby" he replied, placing his lips on hers to give a quick kiss, but Abby latched on to his lips, kissing him fervently. He kissed her back as fiercely, forgetting that Josh was following behind him
"Hey!" An angry voice boomed from behind them. Tunde reluctantly disengaged himself from her sweet lips when he heard the voice that shouted behind him
"Is there a problem?" He asked the owner of the voice that just rudely disturbed their sweet moment with an arched brow
"That's my sister man, you cannot be doing that while I'm here, have some respect" Josh protested
"Josh?..." Abby thought the voice sounded familiar. She couldn't see the owner of the voice at first because of Tunde's towering height and broad shoulder that was blocking her view. When she finally saw that it was indeed her brother, she was surprised.
"Big bro! What are you doing here?!" She asked, gazing up at their faces with surprise. You guys know each other?!"
"Yeah we've met," said Tunde who was still holding her in his arms and smiling down at her lovingly
"Surprise!!..." Josh said and smiled "You don't think I would allow you to be with a man I know nothing about now, would you?" He asked
Abby was indeed surprised "But since when? Why didn't you tell me?" She asked, looking at both of them consecutively. "I've been thinking about how to get you guys to meet, not knowing... Ugh, never mind. It's all water under the bridge now. Thank God you approve of him. I'm so happy!" she went to her brother and hugged him tightly. "I love you bro"
"Love you too sweet. I'm happy to see you're happy with him."
"Yeah I am"
"So are you fully prepared for next week?"
"You know me, I was born prepared."
What's happening next week?" Josh interrupted the siblings
"I've got some tests to write at the university, starting next week. I'm going to be staying at the hostel for the duration."
"For how long?"
"A week, maybe two"
"You're going away for two weeks?" He sounded unhappy
"Yeah, sorry love. But you can come to visit anytime okay, unlike someone who doesn't want to be disturbed unless it's extremely important." She grumbled, still sad about the last three weeks
"Who doesn't want to be disturbed?..." Josh asked looking at the couple
"Come on babe... That was a low blow. I thought you understood..."
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean I like it she said grumpily and shrugged "...but what can I do? It's your work"
"Oh, now I understand," Josh said and chuckled
