Misunderstanding
Tunde drove in silence, each person to their own thoughts.
Abby's mind was in turmoil...
'Did he just snap at me!?...' She wondered in shock. Normal Abby would have retorted back but somehow her mouth just kept itself shut, probably because of the 'do not cross me' facial expression Tunde on.
We'll certainly discuss that when his anger comes down... But what have I done again this time?' He could have just talked to me instead of giving me this cold and silent treatment.'
She couldn't think of why he would tell her he would see her in four hours when he had obviously been around where she was.
'Or maybe he saw me enter the hotel?... No, he couldn't be angry because of that cos I was with the whole crew when I entered.' The longer she thought, the more confused she became.
Tunde on his part couldn't even think. His mind was blank because he was in denial? He refused to accept the fact that his woman was cheating on him, even though he saw the evidence with his two eyes. A half-naked man in her apartment!
This exquisite sense of betrayal was an experience he had never encountered before in his life and it felt absolutely heart-wrenching bad.
To know that the one you love, the one whom you certainly knew you were going to spend the rest of your life with had been cheating on you. Not with one guy, but two. It was absolutely horrendous. He couldn't think. His mind was completely blanked out.
They soon arrived at his house. He went straight into the bathroom and took a cold shower, maybe it would calm his raging, hot temper. Abby wanted to follow him into the bathroom but he had locked the door after himself.
So she sat on the bed waiting for him to come out. When he came out, he wouldn't still talk to her.
Tunde what's going on?...
"..."
Her question was greeted with silence. His expression, stony. He wouldn't even look at her.
Abby sighed heavily. "Would you please answer me, I'm talking to you. She said, a little frustrated.
"I have nothing to say to you."
"You have nothing to say to me!?..." Abby asked back, flabbergasted.
"But why!?... Why did you bring me here then if that's how you want to behave?"
"That was a mistake, feel free to see yourself out."
"Are you kidding me right now!?"
"Does it seem to you as if I'm joking?"
"Then please tell me what the problem is. Who once told me 'when you're upset about something, you talk about it cos it's simple logic?'" That was what he once said to her... Some seconds passed before he finally answered
"You're a liar and a cheat!"
"Excuse me!? Abby said with a frown. You're accusing me of lying and cheating based on what?
"I saw your toy boy"
"You saw my toy boy!? What toy boy? I don't understand!"
"I was at your hostel and I saw your half-naked kept boy." He laughed without humor. "Does he know you went to a hotel with another man while he was cooking and washing dishes?"
'Toyboy!? Kept boy? I don't understand what you're saying. Besides, I didn't go to the hotel with a guy. I went with some friends."
"You weren't holding hands with some friends." He said sarcastically.
"He was just helping me cross the major road and I honestly don't know about this sugar boy you're talking about I swear"
"Oh, right..." He said in mock realization.
"You don't believe me?" She asked. It hurt her feelings to see the look on his face
"You can leave when you're ready. That's the key to the car we came in. Take it."
"You want me to leave Tunde!? She was shocked... She gave a painful laugh. "You're actually asking me out of your house!?... And the car is supposed to be what... A compensation... Parting gift?"
"Yeah, Aren't I generous?" He replied to her. He wanted to hurt her feelings just like she had hurt him. He actually gave her the car so she would be able to get home without stress since he didn't want to drop her off himself.
'But why do you still care? When she fucking cheated on you for fuck's sake!' He thought to himself
"You're a moron!... And you can go fuck yourself with your stupid car." Abby threw his key back at him and left. Even though it was quite some distance from his place to the main gate, she would rather walk than accept his insulting gift.
Outside his house, she was thinking of calling a cab when a sleek car slowed down beside her.
"Going towards the gate?" The handsome man behind the wheel smiled at Abby.
She wanted to tell him no but changed her mind when she saw a familiar car drove out of his gate and past her.
"Yeah thanks" she answered and smiled back at him.
'Why should I walk when I could ride in style? Since he wants to be mad, then let's both act mad then' she thought to herself.
Tunde was surprised when he saw the car trailing beside Abby.
'Why does she have to attract every annoying flies she walked past!?' He thought with frustration and deliberately slowed down his own car to see what would happen, looking towards the man's car with hatred while memorizing its plate number.
When Abby entered the man's car, Tunde was livid.
'It's barely five minutes and she's accepting a ride from another man! This girl is so brazen!
Before he realizes himself, he had pulled into a restaurant parking lot and was dialing her number
"Hello" Abby answered a little too sweetly.
"Are you fucking out of your mind!? What the fu..."
"The number you're calling is not available at the moment, please try again later thank you," Abby mimicked her network provider's automated voice and swiftly end the call.
He heard a beep sound before he could say what was on his mind to her.
'Fucking hell! She disconnected the call on me!?' He was shocked. He dialed her number again.
"I'm warming you Abby, you get the fuck out of that car right this moment, otherwise!..."
"Otherwise what!?... Where did you get off telling me what to do huh? I'm sorry but didn't you just break up with me?... Or are you now my dad that you think you have the right to tell me what and what not to do!?" Abby asked heatedly
"Does that give you the right to accept a ride from every motherfuckers that passes you by!?..."
"Yes Tunde, I have every right to do whatever I want because I'm a single lady now! You're no longer my boyfriend neither are the boss of me!"
"Get out of that car right now!" Tunde stressed gnashing his teeth in rage.
"No!... I'm not your girlfriend anymore! Hello... You broke up with me yourself, remember!? So please mind your business before you pop an artery."
*beep*
She disconnected the call on him again.
He did a quick search of the car's plate number to see who it belong to in the estate.
"Simone!" He said and immediately heaved a sigh of relief. Tunde knew Abby will get back to school safely without worrying about the driver making a move on her. But to be on the safe side, he still called Simone to make sure he knew who she belongs to before driving to The Lakes Club.
