Mama bear
'Finally, the last day of training' Tunde thought gratefully as he stood up from his desk. He leisurely stretches his stiff body and walked around a little bit to relieve his cramped muscles.
The past two weeks had been very tiring, with the police training going on alongside the one thousand buildings housing project. They were both important and also required his attention.
He checked his watch and was surprised that it's 3 pm already. He had been working since 7 am and now he's very hungry, he forgot to eat breakfast again today, and it's also past lunchtime.
Abby is going to be angry if she finds out he's been skipping meals, especially since she had shopped for groceries and packed enough meals in the fridge just for her to make sure he eats well.
"God, I've missed her so much...can't wait to see her already" He muttered under his breath. He's been so busy and had not been able to see her in almost three weeks. They've only been talking on the phone, first thing in the morning when he wakes up, and sometimes if he arrives home early, then he gets to call her before he goes to bed at night.
He sat back in front of his computer and resumed working. He wants to quickly finish checking the result of each trainee's psychological evaluation that was forwarded to him by the TKMF psychologist. He needs to compile their files so he could send them to their individual states' Chief of police.
"Please pick Abby from school and bring her here," he said to Shegs without taking his eyes off his computer screen. I'll call her to let her know you're coming
"Okay, sir..." Shegs turn to leave before he was stopped in his track
"Oh...and tell Ibrahim to order pizza for me."
"Yes sir"

Abby was surprised to see Shegz was the guy Joy said had been waiting for her. 'Why was he just waiting when he could have called?' She thought as she walked down to where he was standing beside the car
"Hi Shegz"
"Good evening Miss"
"Why didn't you call me? Have you been waiting for long?"
'Didn't boss say he was going to call her?' Shegs wondered
"Not quite...boss sent me to bring you to him" he replied
"Just in time for me then because I was just about going to his house to wait for him. Is he back home already?"
"No, he's still at work, we are going there to meet him"
"Really? That's great" she said eagerly. Abby had no idea where they were going and didn't think it was necessary to start asking Shegz for details.
They soon arrived at a huge gate that had Three Kings Military Force Base written boldly on top of it. The gate swung open for them and they drove past armed guards dressed in camouflage.
They drove on passing two-story houses, and rows of identical complexes that resemble college dormitories. She could also see buildings like shopping centers, clinics, banks, and others that she couldn't tell their functions. There's even a football field with a tennis court right beside it.
She remembered Tunde telling her about having a private military company. She didn't know it was something as big as a whole town
They soon arrived at a white stone-clad building, about six stories high with the word ADMINO tiled on it.
"Welcome to the Three Kings Military Base Miss" Shegz quickly got out to open the door for her
"Thank you Shegz..." She smiled up gratefully at him. They entered the building and took the private elevator to the last floor where Tunde's office was located.
When the elevator door dinged and opened, Abby saw her man standing with others and looking through a file by the reception area. Without thinking, she dropped her laptop backpack on the floor, ran straight towards him, and flew into his arms with her arms and legs tightly wrapped around him.
"Whoa, babe" Tunde chuckled when she flew into his arms. He hugged her tightly to himself not minding his staff who were trying so hard to avert their eyes. He didn't care about what was going through their minds, only cares about this woman in his arms who had her face buried in the crook of his neck
'Is she crying' he wondered since he could hear her whimper and also felt the rapid rise and fall of her chest against his. He accepted her bag from Shegz and moved with her still tightly hugged to himself into his office
Abby didn't know how much she had missed him until she saw him smiling towards her when the elevator opened. She was suddenly overwhelmed with the emotions of missing him too much and couldn't hold her tears
"I missed you, I missed you so much..." She kept saying and whimpering into his neck softly.
"I missed you too babe. Are you crying?.." he gently let her down, his heart breaks when he gazed into her eyes and saw that she was indeed crying
"Hey, babe...I'm sorry. Please don't cry" he said softly to her
"Why did you have to tell me I can't see and call you at work unless it's extremely important?" She was hurt when he first told her that but didn't want to argue with him, she didn't want to be a distraction to his work
"I'm sorry... it's just that I needed absolute concentration sometimes when I work...I'm sorry babe"
"But it's been almost four weeks Tunde..." She sighed in resignation "...now see what you made me do...y-you got me acting like a child in front of everybody..."
"I don't mind you acting like a child. I love it actually...it's cute" He smiled down lovingly at her and placed a kiss on her lips. The sweet kiss was turning hot and passionate when his stomach grumbled in protest
"When was the last time you ate?" She looked up at him, worry written on her face
"Breakfast"
"Liar! Your stomach wouldn't make such a sound if you had breakfast. Let's go home right now" she said seriously, grabbed his hand, and started pulling him towards the door
"Baby I've got..." A knock sounded on the door just then before he could finish his sentence
"yeah...come in" Tunde answered
Ibrahim came in and met his boss's pleading face looking down at Abby's frowned face. He thought it would be proper to introduce himself first before saying what he came for.
"Hello, ma'am... I'm Ibrahim, the boss's Assistant" he held out his hand towards Abby
"I'm not a ma'am..." Abby laughed and took Ibrahim's outstretched hand "...my name is Abby. I'm the boss's girlfriend" she smiled broadly at Ibrahim.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah...what do you want?" Tunde snatched Abby's hand away from Ibrahim's.
"Aaliyah is here about the assignment you gave her."
"Okay I'll be right there"
"No, you won't! I thought we were leaving?"
"Baby I have to work..."
"You also have to eat and survive. You've not eaten since God's know when. Do you want to have an ulcer? And look at you...you look worn out" She glared at him before turning to Ibrahim.
"Mr. Ibrahim, didn't you notice he has not had anything to eat since morning? I know he's the boss and all that but you still need to remind him to eat and not mind his cold face because his health matters too you know... "
Ibrahim's jaw dropped when he saw the girl standing up to his boss. Who would dare do that?...she dares obviously. He wanted to laugh so bad, but then she turned to him with her fiery eyes, looking fierce and intimidating like a mama bear protecting her cubs
"Not my fault! I ordered pizza for him. He was just too busy to eat" Ibrahim carefully removed himself from the line of fire
"I was just about to eat before you came in" Tunde protested with a deadly glare towards Ibrahim
"You weren't about to eat before I came, you were looking through a file with him."
She walked towards where the pizza was and opened it "this is no longer edible... I saw a restaurant on my way here..."
"No I can't eat there, they're a little bit heavy-handed with the pepper and you know my stomach can't handle pepper" Tunde interrupted with an explanation. Abby didn't argue with him since she knew him to be picky when it comes to food.
"Mr. Ibrahim, may I please ask a favor?" Abby asked Ibrahim
"Of course...and it's just Ibrahim please"
"Okay..." She replied with a smile and grabbed a pen and paper
"There's a kitchen somewhere in this big building right?..." She asked while she quickly makes a list.
"Yes, yes of course..."
"Please how can I get these items...she handed the list over to Ibrahim " it's for a quick sandwich. After he has eaten, then you can have him. Fair enough?"
"Fair enough" Ibrahim replied, smiling, and left.
Abby then rummage in her bag and found an energy bar "here baby, you can eat this for now..." She opened the wrap and extended it to him
"You know I don't like sw... Okay, okay, you don't have to glare at me like that, I'll eat it."
