How they met

Abby picked her phone, sketchbook, and laptop and went back to her brother's place to wait for him. In his living room, she switched on the TV to while away time, thank God it was showing one of her favorite movies, fast and furious.

She settled down comfortably on the couch to watch but didn't know when she drifted off, daydreaming about brown eyes, well-muscled biceps, hot kisses... She woke up when a loud crash from the movie suddenly jolted her out of her reverie.

She sighed deeply and switched off the TV. She then picked up her sketchbook and tried working on some designs. After about thirty minutes, she still couldn't get anything done. Instead, discarded sheets of several failed attempts to design kept pilling up in a corner.

She attempted to sleep, counted numerous sheeps in her head, but gave up after some minutes when even sleep evades her.

"Uuugh!... Please get out of my head!" She groaned in frustration.

She tried so much not to think about him, but it appears that as she had no control over her desires, she also had none over her train of thoughts because her mind kept going back to him no matter how hard she tried not to till it finally wandered off to the day they first met.

He just appeared from nowhere like a God-sent angel to her. She was invited to a fashion conference to showcase her designs. The venue the organizer choose was an event hall located inside a military barracks.

She was supposed to arrive at the venue with Chima and his sister Chika who were her models, but three hours before the show started, she suddenly got a call from the organizer to come immediately because of an emergency that suddenly came up.

She drove down in a rush wondering what the emergency could be. Getting the heavy luggage that contains her designs out of the car booth wasn't easy but she finally managed to drag it out, which got the handle stuck before it broke in the process of getting it unstuck.

"Great! Just great! Now how am I going to get it to the event hall?" She said in frustration under her breath.

"Let me get that for you..." Abby heard a rich baritone voice said beside her, while effortlessly picking up the luggage by the other handle.

She looked up and her eyes met with the most beautiful, translucent brown eyes she has ever seen. What an eye candy was the first thing that came to her mind when she beholds his good looks.

"Oh yes, thank you!" She finally managed to whisper in appreciation after some seconds of being frozen in motion.

'Why God, why!?.... Why do I have to meet this hotty now in my sweaty, disheveled state? Why couldn't it have been when I was all dolled up and pretty!?' Abby thought to herself.

"You're going to the event hall, right?" His soft and sexy American accented voice broke through her thoughts.

"Ah... Yes! Oh, are you a model too?" She managed to reply in a voice that sounded strange even to her own ears.

"Nah, army. Why?... Do I look like a model?" He asked, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

"Yeah, you do..." Abby replied shyly. "You should be a model." She was shamelessly and indirectly telling him he was good-looking.

'Strange! Where did I get this boldness from? Am I attracted to him? Omg, the first guy I ever feel attractions for...' She wandered off happily again before his voice brought her back, yet again.

"I'm Paul. I'm a corporal with the Nigerian army." He said extending his other hand to her in a handshake.

"Abby" She replied. Sparks flew as their hands met and closed unto each other. Abby felt the current-like sensation ran through her body and her heart throb with an unfamiliar feeling of want that originated from in between her legs.

'Oh my Lord... What was that!? She thought to herself in amazement. 'hope he asked for my number, please ask for my number' she silently prayed to herself.

"So you're a model?" He asked, smiling down at her, causing her heart to nearly go into cardiac arrest.

"Yes, I am...or don't I look like one?" She asked coquettishly. Abby surprised herself again with what came out of her mouth. She never knew she had it in her to flirt, look at her doing it effortlessly like it was a hidden talent.

'You should be ashamed of yourself Abby.' She chastised herself without feeling an iota of shame for how she was flirting with him.

"You look better than one, actually." He ran his eyes all over her, smiling sweetly in the process. His smiles made her feel the hotness of the weather the more.

"I thought models were supposed to be thin and flat-chested... You are slim and yet... very curvy." He commented, his eyes briefly glanced without lingering towards her chest area.

Normally, hearing that from a guy would have put her on the defensive and she would have run as fast as her legs could carry her. But strangely, instead of distancing herself from this guy, she wanted to stay and hear more.

What he was saying to her that would have sounded strange coming from another guy just sounded right coming from him. She wanted to be flirty for the first time in her life with this very hot creation.

They soon arrive at the event center for the conference... "Thank you so very much for helping me, really appreciate it." She said with a smile.

"It's a pleasure... Can I have your number? I'd like to see you again if you don't mind?"

'Yes!' She thought excitedly and nearly threw her fist in the air because of the excitement of seeing him again.

"No I don't mind, cos I'd like to see you again too." She shamelessly admitted that fact to him.

And that was it. Meeting him was the only good thing that came out of that day for her since the conference organizer that invited her proves himself to be a bastard by suddenly asking her to have sex with him in his makeshift office before he would allow her be part of the show.

After their first meeting, he called her the next day to ask her out on a lunch date, which they never had because as soon as they sat down to eat he got a call from work and had to leave after promising to call her back... But he never did!

She tried calling him several times for six whole weeks without success, his phone wasn't connecting. He ghosted on her, only to show up unannounced today and she shamelessly slept with him.
