Her mood... His joy
Ibrahim walked up to Tunde when he was about to check his Whatsapp for the message Abby sent him.
"Hawk, we should be heading home now. You have a very busy schedule today and you need to get some sleep before the police training starts..."
Tunde immediately opened their chats and saw Abby had sent him an audio message that she tagged 'Mood' with a cupid through the heart emoji.
"Anybody with an earphone, earbuds, or something..." He asked towards the general room totally ignoring what his assistant said. "Well don't just stand there, go get one for me right now" Tunde snapped and glared at Ibrahim.
Ibrahim was not surprised to see that his eyes had immediately hardened, sending a different message from the jolly one it has been showing all morning. 'Fun time over' he thought to himself as he walked off to get what his boss asked for.
Tunde played the audio and a familiar beat started playing into his ears followed by Bob Marley's voice. He recognized the song which is a Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill duo 'Turn your lights down low'. Since he wasn't familiar with the lyrics, he conveniently leaned back and listen to it intently.
His face transformed into a huge smile after he had finished listening to the song. He still wasn't satisfied so he searched google for the lyrics and listen to the song all over again while reading the lyrics along with the song.
After he finished listening to the song with the lyrics, his heart swelled with joy and love to the point he felt it would burst out of it not being able to contain the amount of happiness he was feeling right then.
He couldn't believe what Abby was telling him through the lyrics. She loves him after all. He rushed to where the guys were, chatting while waiting for him to be done so they could all head out together.
"She loves me guys! I'm not the only one with the feelings. Abby loves me just as much as I love her!..." He said happily to his brothers and hugged both of them in one go.
He then turned to Josh and lifted him off the ground out of excitement. "She loves me, Josh! Thank you, man!"
He left Josh and turned to Ibrahim who had started making a video with his phone the moment he saw his boss rushed over with a blinding smile on his face. He wanted to make sure it wasn't a dream, his enigmatic boss who was truly in love and was shamelessly jumping around like a poor man who just won a lottery.
"You are getting a fifty percent salary raise with immediate effect Ibrahim. Prepare the papers to that effect ASAP let me sign it."
Ibrahim nearly dropped the phone in his hand. He broke into a bigger smile than the one his boss was wearing...
'Fifty percent salary raise again! But I just got an increment a month ago!' He exclaimed to himself, not believing his good luck. 'Who are my to look a bit horse in the mouth. God bless this woman, wherever she is!'
"Ohh my God...she loves me!. ABBY LOVES ME!" He shouted squarely towards the video Ibrahim was making.
"Well, I told you so didn't I?" Josh said laughing with the twins. They all stared at him as he was happily and shamelessly dancing and jumping around the lounge.
"Wao!"
"Epic!"
"Unbelievable!"
They were all exclaiming in wonder at Tunde's shameless display. None of them would have believe this if somebody had told them. Tunde Beckley just gave them the shocker of their lives.
Tunde listened to the music and read the lyrics all over again all the way to his house while Ibrahim drives the car.
At home, he immediately connected his phone to the sound system's blue tooth, setting it on replay. While he was in the shower, the music played on a mellow while he sang along by heart since he had totally memorized the lyrics.
He got in bed, while still listening to the music till he drifted off to sleep with a smile on his face. His dream was a happy one. It was his and Abby's engagement party and they were both dancing to the slow music of Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill.
