Preety little liar
Whenever Jullianna traveled, Abby would go to Flower-garden estate and stay with her parents. Since she would be spending the night at Tunde's place, she called her dad and mom separately and told them she would be staying over at the school's hostel because she had an important test to write early the following morning.
She hates that she had to lie to them but she had no choice. How would she tell her strict dad that she wants to spend the night at her boyfriend's place?
After school, she asked Dupe to drop her off at her brother's office so she could tell him everything that has happened between her and Tunde since the last time they spoke, not knowing that her brother had done a lot behind her back that helped accelerated her's and Tunde's coming together.
After they were done talking about Tunde, Josh suddenly said...
"Matthew, Mark, and I discussed on the phone just before you came and we decided on a car for your 20th birthday gift."
"No! I don't need a car now" Abby replied with a frown, slightly shaking her head from side to side.
"What!? Why? Haven't you wanted one since like forever?" he was surprised that she was refusing a gift that she had always bugged them about in the past
"Yeah I wanted a car but right now I need something else more and it would be so unfair to you guys if I accept the car knowing full well that I would still ask for another more expensive thing.
I know mommy said it's you guys' responsibility to take care of my school stuff...but I don't want it to seem as if I'm asking for too much..."
"And you think asking your brothers for the things you need is asking too much?"
"No nah!... I just want to be a bit responsible for myself. I don't want it to seems like everything is being handed over to me you know..."
"Hmmm, okay... So what exactly is this thing you need more than a car?"
"You know I'm working on having my fashion label, which I can't really achieve if I don't have all the requirements to make me stand out and succeed.
The fashion industry uses a whole different range of sewing machines and I plan to get every necessary one of them to make my work more professional. Whereas what I have for now can only make ordinary clothes."
"Hmmn... So how much are we looking at?"
"Actually, I have like forty percent of the total cost already; cost of the machines plus shipping and other expenses. I would just divide the remaining sixty percent amongst you guys...twenty percent each "
"How much then?"
"I'll mail the proposal to the three of you"
"Like seriously?... Do you need to be that formal?" He asked with a smile.
"Yeah, It's necessary cos I want you to have the in-depth knowledge of what I'm spending your money on"
"Okay, if you insist then"
When they were done discussing, she called Shegz and gave him the address of where to pick her from.
Since she planned to make grilled fish and chips for dinner, she told him to stop at a market where she would buy all the ingredients she would be needing.
While she was in the market, Shegz was following her closely everywhere she goes insisting "Hawk says not to take my eyes off you miss" when she told him he need not follow her around.
"Please call me if you need anything, Miss," he said after he brought her back to Tunde's house
"Yeah, thank you. Shegz"
The door clicked opened after she input the password. The huge living room seems larger than usual without Tunde around. She first went into the kitchen to drop the ingredients she bought before making her way upstairs into his bedroom.
In the bedroom, she put her laptop bag that also contains her books on the floor beside the bed while she took her overnight bag into the dressing room before heading back downstairs again to make dinner.
Abby enjoyed cooking, so cooking for more than two people was not a problem for her. She made enough fish and chips to go round even to the guards. When she was done cooking, she packs theirs in a disposable aluminum foil plate and called Shegz to come to get them while she kept the rest in the oven till after Tunde comes back.
Shegz was very surprised, he wasn't expecting the boss's girlfriend to cook for him not to talk of the whole crew. The boss's past two girlfriends never even acknowledge his presence whenever he dropped them at their houses.
Abby went back upstairs, showered, and changed into a pair of silk-satin pajama set. Then she checked her email for the course outline sent to her by the head of the class of the department of Textile and Polymer Technology at the University of Lagos.
After which she brought out her textbooks and started studying while her laptop played soft music in the background.
