Ravi's POV

What the hell is going on? My mother slept with dad's best friend who is also her sister's husband and had a son with him.

And now Marcus is saying that my mother Sonia had no relation with Victoria. This is starting to give me a headache, I mean why does everything have to be complicated?.

Why didn't I just have a normal childhood with normal parents?

"What the hell are you spitting from your mouth this time around Marcus." Nicholas said, looking like he was just a foot away from murdering that bastard and I wouldn't try to stop him.

"What I am saying is that Sonia is not Victoria's sister. She is just a con woman who happened to be Russian and bare's the same surname as your mother. There's absolutely no connection between them, I just worked with her to help con your mother off her money."

"Don't you have a heart? She did nothing to you. The only crime I know my mother committed was ever knowing or even falling in love with you. "

He waved his hand around. "Oh boo hoo, she loved me... But I didn't ask her either. Look you can't blame me for everything, I was young and tired of being a pawn in another man's game. I was looking for a way out and I met your mother and I just knew that my ticket was out."

"So you were tired of being a pawn in another man's game and you decided to use my mother as a way out!" Nicholas said. "You took her from everything that she ever loved or knew, I mean she abandoned her family and eloped to a completely different country just you ungrateful bastard!. How heartless can you be?" He said, clenching his fist. Nicholas looked like he was ready to shut Marcus up for good.

"Let's not get sentimental about all of this because we all got what we wanted in the end... Mostly I did but look on the bright side. You get to spend your last days with your bastard brother." Marcus said, smirking at the quiet but attentive Adrian.

I couldn't help but smile and go to hug him. Our differences might not have been settled but I'm definitely willing to let go for now and be happy that he finally has a family.

"You knew?" He asked.

"Yeah I did but it wasn't my place to tell you... And now that I think about it, I shouldn't be pissed off at you for keeping me in the dark. I understand what you were going through so I don't blame you."

He pulled me into a tight hug and said, "thank you so much Ravi."

"Well sorry to interrupt that heartfelt reunion but I didn't come here for that."

"Then what did you come here for?" Said the guy that came in with Nicholas.

"Ahh I see, loyalty doesn't run in your family Nathaniel."

"And so does yours. What do you want."

"Straight to the point I see. Well, no problem on my side, I just came here to see my sons."

"I call bullshit Marcus. You have no heart for that selfish bastard." I called him out.

"Ravi Duncan, my best friend's son. How's life here?"

"Would have been better if you weren't here but that's not the issue here. What do you want Rain?"

He laughed, "I see we are on last name bases, no worries anyways I came here because I need MY DEAR SON NICHOLAS RYKOV INVANOV to sign over his inheritance AND company AND his assets to me for I am in dear need of money and I am man enough to admit that to you my son." He says calmly.

I was bewildered with his outrageous demand and his calming expression. I wasn't sure what made him actually believe that Nicholas would succumb to his demands.

"You are crazy, I mean what on earth would make you think that I would even think of agreeing to this?"

"Oh nothing. I just need to make you."

"You can try."

"Oh I definitely will Nicholas." He said walking out with his goons behind.

I haven't known Nicholas for a long time but I couldn't help but want to console him because he looks hurt and defeated but Adrian beat me to it.

"You are my brother, right?" He mumbles quietly that I almost didn't hear him.

Nicholas nodded and pulled Adrian to a tight hug. "I didn't know I had a brother on till a few weeks ago and I-I hated you at first because I'm though Marcus killed my mother for you and Sonia but then I realized that that wasn't the case and I am sorry for thinking of you like that when you when through something worse than I did in the hands of that bastard. I'm so sorry." He said, his voice shaking and his eyes full of tears.

"It's ok. Anyone would have done the same if in your shoes so I don't blame you and now the only thing that matters is that I have people to call family. That's just what I have always wanted."

"Awn well isn't that just adorable. Having a family to call your own is the greatest gift but not when you have a son that thinks like a failure." A man said, walking into the room. "I didn't, I couldn't believe it when Marcus sent a message to me about MY son acting like a betrayal and mingling with the likes of him." Pointing to Nicholas.

I don't know who this man is but I don't like him, he has the same energy as Marcus if only worse and it looked like he was Nathaniel's father.

"Are you ready to be surprised? I mean come on, you falsely claimed MY own daughter as yours and helped her as bait to force me to do your dirty work!" Nathaniel screamed.

"You know what? You are right, what was I really expecting from you anyways? You are never going to see your daughter again."

"Not if I can help it."

"Hmph, all right then." He says and walks out.He walked out like he didn't just threaten his son.

"Who is he?" I couldn't help but ask.

"He is my father."

"Ok I get that but what does he have to do with this excluding the issues you have with him."

"Well he is involved in a lot of shady business with Marcus and they need a very legal business like Nicholas' here to cover their tracks especially from the authorities."

I turned to Nicholas. "So that's why Marcus is asking you to sign the documents he brought?" He nodded in response, "well we are not going to let that happen. We need to find a way out and look at Nicholas, I know you are going through a lot right now but you need to pull yourself together. I mean that fucker has surely done a lot of terrible things to the both of you but if we don't leave here soon, I know that something on a whole other level is going to happen."

"Yeah he is right Nicholas. We need a plan... And I know who can help." Adrian said.

"Who might that be?" I asked.

Adrian rubbed his neck nervously before saying, "This was the room I was locked in and I had already found a way out but there was a little problem and I was dealing with it but I couldn't get it done because I-I started working for Marcus." He continued after a short pause.

"Wait Wait so you're telling me that Marcus arranged your kidnap and BROUGHT you as a prisoner in his own house." I needed more clarification on this.

"Yeah but that's a story for another time because right now we need to start working on the vent down there." Adrian said pointing out to the small bed located in the corner of the room.

"What vent?" Nathaniel asked. I need to find out another name for this guy because Nathaniel is just a mouth full ok?

"I'm sorry but I've got to ask for another name to call you because calling you Nathaniel in my head's gonna give my brain swelling."

"Yeah, I mean it is a mouth full so..."

Nathaniel... God that name is so fucking long chuckled at our situation. "You can call me Nathan or Nate like Niko here calls me."

"Alright Nate and Niko plus you Ravi, the vent is over at the wall beside the bed, we need to pull the bed away from the wall and that's where my problem is."

"Well for a 10 year old kid, it might be difficult to pull the bed away especially by yourself but I think for the four of us it will definitely bulge, right?" I said.

"No, you don't understand. Look I am allergic to a certain type of metal which is titanium and was one of the reasons Marcus changed my room because I would always fall sick trying to move the bed frame which was built into the ground."

"What the hell? Who still builds a bed frame in the ground?" Nate remade.

"Marcus apparently." Nicholas answered, "So you Adrian, you're going to stay away from all of this because I didn't want you sick besides I'm sure we can pull this out of the ground seeing as it's already old."

"You see that's the problem, I mean you can just pull it out."

"Why?, I mean that seems like the easiest way out AND the fastest." I asked.

"Yeah Adrian, Ravi is right. I can't see why we can't just pull this out already."

"I have two reasons why we can't and the first is that there is going to be a lot of noise from the bed which will attract attention to us so I suggest we pull out each leg everyday and secondly, don't you guys need evidence."

"I get the first part but I don't get the second, why would we need to get evidence?"

"I think Adrian is up to something here. If we know Niko, your money is still going to be in Marcus' hands and I'm he wouldn't want to be in the eyes of the authorities even if you do report so he flees and sends people after you. We need strong evidence on Marcus and I think that document for you to sign might be a good one." Nate explained.

"But we don't even know where it is because we CAN'T leave this room." Nicholas replies.

"Don't worry." I said looking at Adrian smiling, "we've got a guy that can help us with that."
