Meeting Him
A lot of tension had dissipated by the time that they all finally made it to Jackson’s penthouse. Turns out he owns multiple apartment complexes, which actually doesn’t surprise Amillia or Khalil considering that fact he has to make money somehow when in this world. The others had to be informed that a lot of demons and supernatural creatures controlled some of the wealthiest places around the world. In fact, supernatural’s are some of the most wealthiest people in the world. Just because they’re supernatural’s doesn’t mean that they don’t need some way to co-exist and live in this world.
The city where Jackson’s penthouse is the second largest city in the world. People are everywhere, luckily though, in today’s time, people are so distracted by their selves or by their electrical devices that they don’t even notice the group of new people. It’ It’s as if the six of them have just vanished and became invisible in this place. This is perfect, even if Cole does decide to come here to search no one will notice them or be able to tell him where they went.
As they walked into the fifteen-story building they were met with one of the most lavish lobby’s that a hotel can have. It’s huge with shiny marble everywhere and a white and gold color scheme. Fancy people are everywhere wondering around the fancy building and not a one is paying attention to their surroundings. The group successfully made it through the lobby and over to the elevator.
Once they were all in the elevator together Amillia turns to Jackson, “Where the fuck are we are why the hell is this place swarming with fucking demons?”
She didn’t bother to hide the aggression on her voice. Nope, this place is dangerous, especially considering who they are and what they need to do. When they had been talking about a place they could go to awaken Natalia’s powers Amillia had specifically stated that they needed a safe location, not one loaded with every one of their enemies!
“Amillia, these demons being here are what is going to cover up your use of your magic. You’ll be in my penthouse which also has its own protections. Remember, everyone here is trying to become business tycoons and are in the city for business, they’re not worried about any of us unless shit hits the fan, and that shit involves them.” Jackson says with a flat tone.
He has a point. If she absolutely has too she can use the dark side of her magic and achieve the same end goal. The only problem is, she can’t use her dark magic without Damian, he’s the yin to her yang. But using the dark side would be the only way she could unlock Natalia’s powers without every demon in this building sensing the powerful use of good magic in the vicinity.
The thought of having to use her dark magic makes Amillia very nervous. At least now she knows that it might be something she’ll have to do. There’s always that possibility of her slipping, and going backwards though, and undoing everything she’s done, if she does end up having to tap into that kind of power things could go very wrong very fast.
(3rd Person – Past)
All she ever does anymore is pace the house and worry. Gloria is almost certain that she’s going to wear herself into the ground if she keeps it up. She’s been worried about her niece since she’s arrived, but the last couple of months things seem to have gotten worse and intensified.
Finally, after years of searching and learning a whole new language, or three, Amillia has learned how to break this spell, or curse, on everyone and bring their memories back. It’s not going to be as easy as it seems though considering it involves her making a potion and spelling it and then getting them to drink it. She’s assuming it’s not going to taste the best, but she’s determined to try. They have finally reached the point where she can’t do this alone anymore.
While Michael has been wonderful at helping her, it’s not the same as having her aunts help. They need the help of someone older, someone wiser, someone who knows what the hell they’re doing. This has all just been a guessing a game up until now and things are nowhere near getting better.
Amillia caves, it’s now or never and she prefers the now to the never. There’s too much going on for her not to take this chance. Taylor and Joseph have just announced to everyone that they are expecting baby number one. Yay for them! Sad part is that Cole is now under the impression that he owns Taylor and that they must move out of this world and into another to begin working for the Wyatt family. Nope, that’s just not how that works. The Black family holds way more power and what the Wyatt family is doing goes against the destiny of the Black family. If Taylor was to join them the fates would punish her severely and terribly for the rest of her life. Of course, that also depends on how long they will her continue living.
After pacing the house for a few hours, she left without a word to anyone. She has to go into the forest to find a specific ingredient that is needed for this potion. She has to bring Gloria out of the fog and back into reality before something bad happens to her cousin. Amillia is willing to do anything for her family, she’s already lost too much and she’s not trying to lose anymore.
She’s been in the forest for a little while now, examining and looking at every plant that grows, recalling in her memories to make sure that she gets exactly the one’s she needs and nothing more. She doesn’t want to harm the nature or take more than what the recipe calls for. She’s not trying to piss of Mother Goddess.
After getting almost everything she’s down to the last ingredient, but she’s stuck between three bushes containing three different types of berries. They all look the same and she can’t remember which one of the berries she needs. One bush has bright blue berries on it, the other one has purple berries, and the third one has a pinkish-red tinted berry. She stuck just looking between the three.
“If you’re doing what I think you’re doing I’d go with the pinkish-red tinted one,” an unfamiliar voice says from behind her.
Amillia turns around quickly and comes face to face with the mysterious man who had given her the box with the necklace inside of it.
“Who are you?” She asks. She doesn’t sense he’s a danger, but is aura still catches her off guard. She has study about the different colors of people’s auras ever since the first time that she met this man, but she never has read anything about anyone’s being his. He’s a complete mystery to her and she doesn’t like the unknown.
He smiles at her. His smile is beautiful, it’s full and reaches his eyes and shows off all his perfect and white teeth. He picks a berry off the bush that he had suggested that she take some from and ate it.
“It’s the safest for the pregnant one if you’re trying to get them to gain their memories back.”
“How do you know what I’m trying to do?”
“Because I’ve watched you,” he replies nonchalantly. Amillia blinks a few times just staring at the beautiful stranger in front of her.
“Who are you?” She asks again, this time really hoping for an answer.
“My name’s Damian, Amillia,” he answers. She frowns, well she shouldn’t be surprised he knows her name, after all, he so just told her that he’s been watching her.
Amillia can’t help but to roll her eyes, she already knew that considering that’s all he said last time they met each other, so, she decided to try a different approach.
“Why are you here? How did you get here? Where did you come from?” She asks all at once.
He smiles again. God, that smile. She absolutely loves that smile.
“I’m here watching you, to be honest. I came through one of the portals that is in the mortal realm, and you truly do no wish to know where I come from.” Is his response. He’s still only giving vague information.
Damian takes a set at the foot of the tree that is between the three bushes. Damian is well aware that Amillia is farther into the woods than what she even realizes and that she has also left the trail that leads the safe path through the forest. They’re completely alone at this moment, the worst of the worst living further back, so he had to stop her from going further. Where’s there is light there must be darkness and she is no where near prepared to meet the darkness that resides inside this forest.
He motions for Amillia to set next to him, and she hesitates, thinking for a moment before taking him up on his offer. He picks some more berries and hands them to her. She hesitantly accepts the berries, not quit sure of what they’re called, but she knows that they are harmless. After all he’s been eating them and he’s still alive.
They set in complete silence for a moment, and then Damian speaks. “You’re very powerful Amillia, but your nowhere near as powerful as you could be. When you make the potion to wake everyone up, drink some yourself, you’re going to need your dormant powers to awaken once you bring back Gloria’s memories and powers. Erik will sense them, and it’ll send him on a murderous rampage.”
Amillia looks up at the complete stranger. “How in the hell do you know all of this?”
He just smiles. “I’ve been around for a long time, and I’ve been watching everything since you were first brought here. Actually, to be honest, I’m the one who told the old dwarf where to find you and demanded he bring you here for Gloria to care for. Figured it’d be better than leaving you in the mortal world alone.”
Amillia sets there a moment taking in what he said, but then, “What about my sisters, why didn’t you help them and where are they?”
Damian sighs. “I did what I could Amillia, there’s only so much I can get away with without alerting Carrick as to what I’m doing. If you want the truth I’ll tell you, everything, but I can promise you that you’re not going to like what you hear.”
She considers his proposal for only a split second. Yes! Of course, she wants to know. She has spent the last six years of her life wanting to know everything. If this man can tell her than she wants to know and that’s her final decision.
“Please,” is all Amillia responds.
Once again Damian takes in a deep sigh, and he starts telling her everything. Carrick is the one behind the Wyatt family at this time, he’s the one that’s taken over and now control the elders in that family. He’s one of the first creations by Vrag, he’s a powerful demon that can control all other demons. He’s actually the one in charge of underworld at this moment only because the Lord of Darkness is taking a sabbatical to come up with a plan to eradicate all of the other deities’ and their creations. He can’t be a ruler of both the underworld and his demon hoards at the same time so he’s delegating.
Damian is a demon, but not just any demon, he’s a hybrid demon. Vrag just so happens to be his father and his mother, well, no one is really sure what she is, but it’s said she’s not from the underworld, that she had been pure before meeting Sotona, Vrag, the devil.
“I was there when the attack on your family happened, I’m older than I look Amillia. When I said I’ve been around for a while, I meant I’ve been around for multiple centuries.” He informs her. “I couldn’t stop what happened to your parents, I’m sorry, but I did prevent you and your sisters from dying. I did what I could. I’m not even sure why, I normally don’t have a problem with the murder and the blood shed and all that shit. It’s not like a creature such as me has emotions, or at least I didn’t think I had emotions, but something changed, and I’m not sure what, but it happened.”
“What changed?” Amillia asks. She knows that she should be afraid of him considering that fact that he just admitted to her that his father is literally the devil, but she’s not. She can tell that he’s not here to hurt her, he legit just wants to help in his own messed up ways.
Damian looks at Amillia out of the corner of his eye, “I met this little girl one time, who was the sweetest person ever, pure, a whole soul that was untainted by any evil at all. Rare, no one is pure, everyone has a darkness to them, but not this girl. She changed me, something about her woke something up inside of me that I didn’t even know existed.”
They both look at each other for a moment. Amillia is wanting to ask who the girl was, but something is telling her to leave that question be, so she doesn’t ask. Instead, she asks,
“What’s the differences in the berries? You said use the pinkish looking ones because it’s safer for someone who’s pregnant.”
He smiles again, God she loves his smile. “The blue ones are called frozen berries; they can be used as a paste because they have healing properties to them. They’re also dangerous if consumed unless used exactly right. Even though they do pertain healing properties, they can stop the growth of a fetus and do harm to a person’s body, such as they can make a person’s skin peel off the bone. They’re actually used as flavoring in a lot of poisons. See, when someone consumed too much it shrivels their organs slowly and turns them to sludge, very slowly and painfully, they’re actually perfect for torturing someone slowly to death.” He explains.
Amillia just makes another O shape with her mouth, so glad that he showed up because her potion recipe didn’t specify which berry should be used, it just showed the plant, and all the plants look the same except the different colors of the berries on them.
Damian continues explaining, “The purple ones are plumberries. If you get their juices on you they can leave welts and burn the skin, if digested they will eat away at your body slowly, even the bones. It’s excruciatingly painful. The pinkish one’s are the only safe one there is of this plant species, I’m surprised that whatever potion your trying to make didn’t specify the ingredients. The pink one’s are actually very nutritious, and they make your skin glow. They’re used in a lot of memory potions, actually, if you ever run into another memory potion calling for this plant to be used always use the pink one. The three bushes always grow together as well, so always be cautious and look at the berries before just deciding to use the plant.”
They sat there for a moment. Damian had picked some of the berries off of the correct plant and put them in Amillia’s bag for her. He even went into explaining how to make the potion just right and what to do.
“Why are you helping me?” She asks.
“You fascinate me,” he states plainly. “You’re rare Amillia, not too many people are like you. And remember that necklace I gave you, if at any time you need me, just hold it, and think of me, it’ll summons me. The rope and the stone of the necklace are all used in summoning others, but I made that one just for you to be able to contact me, just in case.”
“Why?” She couldn’t help the question escaping her mouth.
He hesitates for a moment, studying her face and debating on what he should reveal to her and what she needs to find out on her own. He isn’t too willing to mess with the fates too much, but he can’t help himself when it comes to Amillia.
“Because I know what they did to Erik. That family is working with Carrick to eradicate your family, it’s the only way Carrick will ever be able to take over the worlds. They won’t be able to do anything as long as one member of the Black family is alive. As soon as you release Gloria’s powers and bring her memories back I’d expect Erik to flip out and attempt attacking everyone, not even those chains he’s in right now will be able to hold him back.” Damian tells her.
Her mouth falls open in shock. She doesn’t want to believe that the love of her life is now someone who’s out to kill her, and if what he’s saying true, wouldn’t it be safer just to leave everyone’s memories as they are? No, she can’t do that, they need to know who they are and what they are and they’re destiny’s need to be set back on track. That little bit she does know and has a strong positive feeling towards.
He stands, offering her a hand to help her get up.
“Just remember Amillia if you need me, for anything, please don’t hesitate. Keep that necklace close to you at all times.” Then he just walks away and disappears into the forest.
She’s stuck frozen to the spot staring at the place where he vanished. She’s still confused about why the son of the devil would want to help her. Aren’t they supposed to be mortal enemies? Oh well, can’t contemplate too much on that right now, she has a mission to accomplish.
