Going Back
“Jackson you fucked up,” Matthew states.
Damian shoots him a glare, “watch your fucking mouth kid, I’ve done told you just because I say it doesn’t mean that you need too. You’re mother will have my head with you talking like that.”
Matthew can’t help but to roll his eyes. “Well, it’s the truth, he’s the one that messed up and now everything that mom has done could be for nothing. What happens if you go back Damian and the curse kicks in and you both turn back to who you were? The fates are going to be so pissed.”
Damian can’t help the growl that comes out. Damn this boy is hardheaded as hell. Although, he does come by it honestly. He does have a point though, no matter how it comes across, what he is saying is the truth.
The fates had their reason for cursing Damian and Amillia to be separate until they see fit, or until at least one of them dies. Their punishment turned out to be just and it helped secure the fact that Amillia wouldn’t go against her destiny again.
“Well, thanks to Jackson here, he’s pretty much secured that if I don’t go Amillia’s going to turn to the darkness again. Anger is always the one emotion that brings it out the most in her,” Damian says.
“Just be careful Damian and come back, we can’t lose you both,” Matthew mumbles as he walks on down the stairs and heads off through the wooden double doors that leads into the kitchen. It’s obvious he’s unhappy about this whole situation and in all honesty, Damian can’t blame him for it either.
Matthews not a normal kid his age. He’s wise above his years. It’s obvious to anyone who meets him that the poor boy has been through more than any kid his age ever should have. He has a big heart, but he hides it, he hardly ever shows his true emotions to anyone except Damian. He doesn’t even show his true feelings to his mom because he never wants to do anything that would hurt her.
Amillia has spent the last bit pacing the room that h seis staying in at the penthouse. She’s debating if sending Jackson after Damian had been a smart idea and wondering how long Natalia will be knocked out for. It didn’t surprise her that Natalia fainted, a lot has happened in the last twenty-four hours, she’s seen a lot and had been told even more. That’s a lot for a person to take in, actually, Amillia is surprised that she lasted as long as she did before passing out.
She’s nervous. She knows that if Jackson tells Damian about her almost losing it when he told her that he could come here and it be safe, Damian’s going to come whether it’s safe or not. He’d never let her sacrifices be for nothing. He will never allow her being away for the kids as long as she has just to screw it all up before all this crap ends.
Everything is currently running through Amillia’s mind. She’s a serious over thinker, and everything that has ever happened is slowly playing over and over and she’s trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together since they’re flashing through her mind.
Then she remembers Jayven and Daniel and the whole reason they are here. Right now, they’re not far from where their family disappeared at last. It wouldn’t take much to do that side mission before finding Sonja, or maybe helping them will help her find Sonja. After all, everything happens for a reason.
She walks out of her room and back into the living room where Jayven and Daniel are. Khalil has decided that it would be best if someone stays with Natalia, and he also chose that person to be himself. Amillia hadn’t felt like arguing with him at the time with her mind as distracted as it is, so she let it be, and he’s in the room with Natalia “keeping watch”.
That dude is more paranoid than anything or anyone. It’s almost ridiculous. Either this whole situation has just messed with him or he’s in need of some serious help one.
“Hey guys,” Amillia says joining them on the couch where they were both setting with the tv playing. It doesn’t seem like either of them are actually watching whatever show is on, they’re both just looking at the floor.
Jayven looks up at Amillia as she speaks. “We’re close to where they went missing at,” he says.
“Yeah, I know.” Amillia responds.
“This is also the place where Jayven came back from hell at,” Daniel informs Amillia.
This does add another piece to the puzzle.
“Did Leyla let you out here, or is this just where you showed up?” She asks.
Jayven thinks for a moment, his jaw twitches slightly. It had been only for a split moment, and barely noticeable, but his jaw twitches at the thoughts of being in hell.
“I just woke up here, I didn’t even remember what actually happened for two days. I was in a hotel somewhere in the city. Had a room and everything. I still don’t know how I got there or anything and once everything came back to me, all my memories and shit, I left and went to find Daniel and our mom and sister.” Jayven answers.
Hmmm, this makes Amillia wonder about things. Is Leyla here? Had she been here?
Pushing the thought aside, Amillia turns her attention back to the other mission at hand here. She summons a map of this city and all the surrounding areas and laid it out on the coffee table in front of the three of them. Little red marking darks appear, and Amillia picks them up.
“So, I made a promise and since we have Natalia, and she’s incapacitated, we might as well start working on the search for your peoples.” Amillia states. “Take these markers and let’s map out the area where they were last seen. Give me a general area to work with, since we’re here and I can openly use magic, the little bit it requires to locate them, if they’re here, won’t alert all the freaking demons in this place of my presence.”
Without hesitation Daniel takes the markers from Amillia and starts placing them on the map in the general areas as to where the demon that they had been chasing had last been recorded. Of course, he doesn’t know if it’d still be in the area or not considering that they’ve been busy, but it’s possibly that something may have been left behind. That doesn’t actually matter though because his mom and sister would have followed the demon anywhere it went until they finally caught it.
They had little red dots all over the map. Apparently Daniel and Jayven have been keeping track of this monster while other things have been going on. Luckily they have too because there’s a pattern behind these attacks, one that Amillia wouldn’t have caught onto on her own mostly because she wouldn’t have been paying attention to notice.
“Well, I be damned,” Jayven says looking at the map noticing exactly what Amillia herself noticed.
Whatever this demon, or being is, has caused a lot of damage in quit a few areas. Daniel pulls out his laptop from the bag that he has been carrying with him. After spending some time on his computer, Daniel picks up more red markers and starts to pin them all over the map. When he is finished none of them can believe what they’re looking at.
“I be fucking damned,” Daniel says this time.
They are all three looking at the map that has a bunch of small pentagrams drawn out with the red markers and conclusively forming one huge pentagram. There’s something more going on to these attacks, seeing it all mapped out in front of them they can tell that these are not just random attacks, they’ve been planned.
“Good Lord, this can’t be good,” Jayven says still just staring at the map that is placed in front of them.
“The good Lord has nothing to do with this one,” Came an unfamiliar voice to Daniel and Jayven but one that Amillia knows very well.
She has waited years, too many years, to hear his voice again. Her head shoots up and in his direction, standing behind her to the left a little bit, quicker than a normal persons. She can’t believe that he’s here, he’s really here.
Amillia jumps off of the couch and quickly runs into Damian’s arms, who is just smiling down at her considering he’s a good foot and a half taller than she is. She’s short and wears her shortness proudly.
“I honestly thought that Jackson was lying about you being able to be here while I’m here,” she says.
“Nope, not a lie, although he did fuck up big time…” Damian trails off looking at the map on the table once again. “But that’s not the problem, the problem is what’s going on. What were you guys looking for?”
“Our mother and sister went missing searching for some demon in this area,” Jayven says pointing to the middle of one of the smaller pentagrams. “We did some research and found the same pattern of women and children going missing or being brutally murdered. Most of them are new mothers and their infant children.”
Damian nods his head and then gives Amillia a knowing look. Much like she has thought numerous times, the look on Damian’s face says that he doesn’t believe they are going to find these missing people. Especially since looking at the map this all seems to be bigger than what any of them had bothered to realize.
“Amillia, can I talk to you for a second?” Damian asks, then he adds, “alone.”
Amillia is still piecing together the new pieces of the puzzle. She didn’t even register that Damian is talking to her until he repeats himself. The two of them walk off into the room that she is staying in leaving Jayven, Daniel, and Jackson all in the living room together.
Jackson’s trying to figure out what Damian and Amillia could have possibly be thinking about the points on the map. Of course, the pentagrams being made up as they are on the map is one thing, but what could possibly be doing something like this. Daniel is back on his computer doing research while Daniel is reading some books that he has with him carrying in his backpack. Jackson has been wondering what was in that backpack he carries with him everywhere, guess books are something.
Damian closes the door behind him and Amillia as they enter into the room that she where she is staying. He grabs her by the waste and kisses, long and deep. He’s missed her about as much, if not more, than she’s missed him. This whole curse things just totally sucks.
“What do you think the chances are that the fates have decided that our destinies can intertwine again?” Amillia asks softly pulling away from Damian.
He chuckles and kisses her again, “I doubt it, the only reason that it’s dormant here is because Jackson has to make sure that the powerful beings and creatures staying here can’t cause too much chaos and harm to each other. It’s only a way to keep the peace. Considering it’s the fates that cursed us, that counts as very powerful magic and therefor is void.”
Whatever, Amillia thinks, it doesn’t matter to her, at least she’s finally getting to see him, to touch him, and to be close to him. It’s really been too long. Obviously he feels the same way that she does considering the fact that he can’t keep his hands and lips off of her.
“Damian, you’re supposed to be here to help get Natalia her memories back,” Amillia states as their passion starts to heat up. He is paying no attention to her words at all. He is well aware of the reasons that he is here, and that may be one of them, but that’s not the only reason he came here with Jackson.
Natalia wakes up in a very big and very comfortable bed. She feels as if she is laying on the clouds, everything is so soft and fluffy. In all honesty this bed is so comfortable she’ll be happy if she never has to leave it again. She’s half tempted to fall back asleep.
Khalil notices that she’s awake and moves from the love seat setting on the opposite wall of the bed over to where she is.
“You okay?” He asks.
She forgot for a moment where she is, that she’s not at home, at Khalil’s home, and everything that has happened the past two days, or however long it’s been. It all feels like a dream, and she almost has herself convinced that she’s dreamed every single bit of what has been going on.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Natalia responds. She’s rubbing her head, a sudden headache coming forward. “Please tell me that I’ve dreamed everything.”
Khalil chuckles, “If it was a dream Natalia then I wouldn’t know what you’re talking about, so sadly no, I can’t say that because I would be lying to you.”
Natalia groans into her pillow while rolling over onto her side. Her head is pounding, and she had really been hoping that she had just dreamed this crazy existence into being. She isn’t even sure how to process all the information, or what to believe and not to believe. Her whole world is changing and going against everything she’s ever thought she knew.
“Are you sure that you’re okay?” Khalil asks Natalia again with worry lacing his tone of voice.
Honestly, she doesn’t know. This headache, it’s unlike anything she has ever had before. Normally she doesn’t get sick, or at least not often and nothing serious. She’s only gotten minor headaches from too much bleach or something, but this is something different. A drill of pins and needles are going through her whole head making it feel as if it’s on fire while tingling.
Natalia doesn’t respond, she’s not able to respond, instead she just curls up into a ball on the bed and let the tears of her pain slowly fall down her cheeks on her face. She’s never felt this much pain in her entire life.
Khalil is helpless. He can’t stand to see Natalia in this much pain but has no idea what can be done to help her. He kisses the top of her head and tells her he’ll be back. If Amillia is really her sister and the great-granddaughter of the Mother goddess then surely to God she will have an answer and be able to help Natalia.
He runs down the stairs and into the living room area, but he doesn’t see Amillia. Daniel and Jayven are both still setting on the couch discussing something, and Jackson is in the kitchen, it looks like he’s making coffee.
“Where’s Amillia?” Khalil asks walking into the room.
“She’s in the bedroom talking with Damian, what’s going on? How’s Natalia?” Daniel asks.
“What happened to Natalia?” Jackson asks having been gone at the time of her passing out he’s clueless as to her current condition.
“She fainted on us, and she just woke up, but her head is hurting her bad, I have no idea what to do. I was hoping maybe Amillia would know and be able to help her.” Khalil answers.
“What do you mean she passed out? What happened?” Jackson asks genuinely concerned.
“It was after Amillia, I’m assuming, made the power go crazy and you left, she just fainted. When she woke up her head started hurting and it appears to be pretty bad too. I’ve never seen her look so miserable and in so much pain. All her color is drained for her and everything,” Khalil answers.
Jackson’s face shows concern which makes Khalil wonder what in the hell is going on. It’s obvious that he knows something that he’s not telling anyone, which irritates Khalil, but before he can say anything to Jackson about it, Damian and Amillia walk out of their room.
The tension in the room is thick. Amillia and Damian look between Khalil and Jackson because it’s obvious that’s where all the tension is coming from in the room. Daniel and Jayven are both still setting on the couch looking quit confused about everything.
“What’s going on?” Amillia asks putting her long hair up into a bun on top of her head.
“Natalia woke up with her head busting, I came to find you, but I get the feeling that Jackson here knows something,” Khalil tells.
Amillia’s eyes almost shoot out of her head. Damnit! She thinks to herself. She should have known better, especially after everything else that has happened. What the hell was she thinking, she wasn’t, that’s what. All she thought about was Damian, seeing him, being allowed to be around him, she never thought about the consequences of her actions when they happened.
She takes off running up the stairs to where Natalia is, Khalil and Damian hot on her trail. Even if she’s the cause for this pain and the experience that Natalia is currently going through there’s no way Khalil should have just left her alone in that room. Sometimes it’s hard for Amillia to remember she’s working that amateurs that know nothing about this world they work and live in, supposedly.
Amillia rushes into the room and scans over it. Natalia isn’t laying on the bed, in fact, Amillia doesn’t see her in the room at all.
“Natalia!?” Amillia calls out hoping that maybe she’ll respond or make a noise alerting them to where in the hell she could be. Anger is starting to flood through Amillia at thought of maybe something happening to Natalia, maybe someone managed to break through the barrier on Jackson’s penthouse or something and she’s gone. She could be hurt or anything right now.
Khalil rushed into the room pushing past Amillia which in turns makes Damian’s anger rise a little bit. Even if the guy is just trying to verify that Natalia is missing due to caring for her, Damian will never agree with someone pushing her aside or doing her any harm. He loves Amillia just as much now as he always has, and that’s with everything in him. Amillia is the reason that he is who he is right now.
Khalil ran over to the other side of the bed and found Natalia laying there. Amillia sighed with relief as Damian wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed the top of her forehead.
The relief quickly went away though the moment that Amillia saw the state that her sister is in. She looks horrible. She’s way too pale, and she also has blood slowly coming out of her ears and nose. Khalil’s face pales at the sight of her as he picks her up in his arms and goes to lay her back on the bed.
“No,” Amillia tells him, “She’s not staying here alone, bring her downstairs, she needs help now.”
Khalil growls at being ordered around making Amillia roll her eyes.
Damian raised his eyebrows at the overprotective hybrid standing in front of them. “I really hope that she’s your mate for you to be growling at her sister, and what’s mine, like that.”
Khalil shoots Damian a look that could kill with his red eyes glowing. “She’s not my mate, but I want to know why she’s like this. Everything was just fine, she was fine, before she came into the picture and now all of a sudden I’m hearing this mortal is the great granddaughter of the mother goddess and all this other bullshit and now she looks dead! What the fuck is going on here?” He demands.
Damian’s eyes flashed black and gold as a fire burns deep inside of them.
“First off mut you’re going to lower your voice and speak with respect!” He informs him leaving no room for argument. “Second if you’d shut the fuck up and listen then you’re dumbass would find out everything going on. Amillia wouldn’t let shit happen to her sister dickhead, and neither would I for that matter.”
Khalil is shaking, fighting himself from shifting into his other true form. It’s obvious that Damian isn’t someone to be messed with, his aura and his eyes speak for themselves. He is the only being to ever exist with the golden fire in his eyes, and the rumors about the golden fire demon are spread far and wide through all the worlds. Khalil knows he really doesn’t stand a chance, but the anger that is coursing through him is making him blinded to the reality of the situation. He is completely at their mercy.
“Can we all just calm down and go back downstairs so I can save my sister?” Amillia suggests calmly, trying to defuse the situation. “I swear to God that if something happens to her because of the male ego then neither of your demons will be anything compared to what I will do.”
She meant every word she spoke too. She would rip them both to pieces. As much as she loves and cares for Damian, her soul, her life, she loves her sisters more. They are and will always be a part of her. They share the same blood, there’s no way that Amillia would ever turn her back on any of them, despite what may happen or what they may do.
