When Darkness Wants to Play
“I don’t see why Carrick is even wanting that asshole back in the fold,” Erik grunts as he takes the spot on the couch beside of Leyla, who done a line off of the table and handed the instrument being used to Erik.
“Because Damian’s the best of either side. It’s better to have him fighting for us than against us,” Leyla answers simply.
It’s not as if they haven’t been through this a hundred times already. Erik doesn’t seem to realize that he’s just a pawn in all of this, hell even Amillia is. For some reason that is unbeknownst to her, Carrick is dead set on getting a hold of Matthew, Amillia, and Erik’s son, and what better way to do that than get all of the people who protect him on their side. It just makes everything that much easier.
Leyla, personally, doesn’t like the plan that Carrick has, but since he’s the one who’s raised her, she knows better than to go against anything that he says. It’s not as if one of the rulers of the underworld is going to go easy, especially on his own heirs. She seriously thinks that they get it worse than the minions that don’t do as they’re supposed too.
“Do you think she’ll even succeed in bringing his demons out?” Erik asks skeptical this time.
Leyla can’t help but to roll her eyes at this man. He’s always has done nothing but ask a bunch of questions ever since Damian had dropped him off in the underworld. Poor dude doesn’t even know how he even ended up in the underworld to begin with, Carrick had told him that he could sense his powers and wanted to enlist him in his army. He never mentioned that Damian had brought him and threatened Carrick’s life if he let Erik go and end up back around Amillia anytime soon.
They all knew what the fate of Erik Wyatt and Amillia Black was supposed to be. It’s written in many different books, although the side of evil does have a bit more information considering the fact that they break the rules to get their information. A seer of evil is completely different from a Seer of good, and there isn’t anyone in the underworld who cares about consequences enough to be concerned about breaking rules. That’s just not how it works down there.
“She’ll succeed, she’s too powerful to not succeed,” Leyla answers.
One thing that Leyla has wondered for a while is who exactly is Amillia Black and why do they look as if they could pass for twins? As far as she remembers Carrick has been the only parent she’s known, truly, of course his wife is a bitch and only cares about her own son, which isn’t surprising, but Carrick treats Leyla as if she’s made of gold and can do no wrong. Even on the occasions that she has got into trouble, after the punishment it was over, and everything would go back to normal.
She asked Carrick about Amillia after she first seen her, when she paid her a visit in her office. Of course, that was to no avail, all that resulted in was making Carrick mad and getting Leyla lashed with a nail bound leather whip one hundred times for dare to question the king of their land.
In conclusion Leyla assumes the best way to see what the big deal is with Amillia is to just befriend her and learn as much about her as possible, and in the few weeks they have been attached at the hips Leyla has yet to learn anything new about this woman, which just makes her want to question this whole thing that much more.
Amillia has been one of the true definitions of evil since Leyla has cast the spell telling the darkness within her to awaken. Like, Leyla would never admit this, but she even has her beat, and Leyla’s one of the most brutal torturers in the underworld. She’s always had a way to making those so close to being innocent souls turn into some of the wickedest being to ever exist.
After more time than was necessary, Damian and Amillia walk out of the room that he had forced her into. Red marks are still brightly shinning around her neck, making Leyla chuckle inwardly, especially after seeing the look on Erik’s face. It’s completely obvious that he’s still in love with this woman even though she had clearly made it obvious that she wants nothing more to do with him. Apparently, she still hasn’t forgiven him for the whole trying to kill her and their unborn child at the time thing. Oh well.
Damian grabs Amillia by the back of her neck making her stop walking. He’s standing right beside her, close enough for them to be touching. He looks down at her and says, “I have to go take care of some things really quick, fucking stay here and be good until I get back.” That was a demand.
One look at Damian and Leyla knows that Amillia succeeded. He’s not normally rough and tough when he’s not evil. The fact he’s being demanding, possessive, and that his eyes are a blazing fire red tells Leyla everything she needs to know. At least when she reports back to Carrick tonight, he’ll be pleased with the news.
That is, unless that’s whatever business Damian is attending too. Whatever it is must be past business that he had set aside to Amillia’s little lap dog these past few years. He did, after all, just abandon everything that he had been doing to help her. Leyla had refused to believe he chose to change sides just for Amillia, there’s no way someone could affect him such as that without having to do anything, but yet that’s what all the rumors state. Seeing them now she wonders if those rumors are true. It’s obvious even being a soulless monster he still loves Amillia deeply.
He leaves and Amillia makes one of the random men setting next to Leyla move.
“So, I take it as everything’s done now?” Leyla asks.
Amillia laughs doing her own line that’s been patiently waiting for her on the table. “Oh yeah, way too easy to do honestly. He was so pissed at wanting to know what I was up too he didn’t even notice that everything had been set up for the spell.” Amillia answers. “He’s mad as hell right now though so whatever he’s going to do it’d be in whoever’s best interest to just do as he demands.”
Leyla chuckles, but Erik isn’t impressed and the other people that are inside the room with them aren’t paying them any notice. The only reason the mortals are in this room are for pure entertainment. It’s really amazing what all a mortal will do if they think that they’ll gain money and power in this world for doing it. Doesn’t matter what happens anywhere else as long as they can be greedy and selfish here. That’s one reason beings in the underworld love this world so much and will do just about everything to maintain a portal, or a way of being here. It’s just so they can keep taking advantage of the weaker link and using their selfishness and greed to the demon’s own gain. And the mortals are none the wiser.
Damian didn’t bother to tell Amillia that just because she woken the darkness inside of him doesn’t mean that he will willingly completely change. He wants to know what’s going on and he knows how to play along with everything. That’s exactly what he’s doing too.
Instead of doing something terrible as everyone would expect him to, Damian goes to where he left Matthew. There’s nowhere safe for him right now, especially if Amillia is evil and he’s supposed to be pretending to be an evil bastard as well. There’s no other option but to go back to the world of worlds and hope that it’s not a disaster and that Gloria will be able to handle Matthew until all of this is over, which will be soon too if everything goes the way that Damian hopes it does.
Something that Amillia doesn’t know is that they don’t just have randomly adorable normal mortal neighbors that just so happen to love watching over Matthew for them when they need them to. Nope, in fact those neighbors are dragon shifters from Mystethikal. Never has he been happier for keeping something from Amillia as he is right now because if she knew who had been keeping her son then she would have for sure thrown a fit and who knows what she would have ended up doing.
“Damian, please don’t tell me your eyes look like that because you are your old self again?” Bethany asks, concern written all over her face.
Matthew is nowhere in sight, which is actually normal considering that it’s past midnight by now. Bethany looks nervous having this Damian standing in front of her, and she’s reluctant to let him into her apartment, although, she could fight him off long enough to wake her husband, she isn’t wanting it to come to that with Matthew in the house.
“That’s a long story, but I need you to do me a favor, and I have to ask quickly before this shit actually takes over and I lose myself” then he adds under his breath, “Hopefully not completely.” With a deep intake of breathe he summarized what’s going on, how Amillia is evil currently working with Leyla, Carrick’s daughter, and that she had spelled for his own demon to be released. “Will you take Matthew to Gloria, and if you can’t get him there, then take care of him and I’ll find you when we’re all back to normal?”
This is big. This is really big! Bethany can’t believe that Damian actually asked her if she’ll take Matthew away from here. While he did ask about the kid’s great aunt, he also didn’t mind if Bethany and Mycale just kept the kid and made sure he’s taken care of. That’s a lot of trust that Damian is putting into them and he’s not one to trust easy, so it actually makes Bethany feel a little relieved knowing at least he trusts her, but what happens when the demon is in the forefront and he decides it’d be better if Matthew was turned evil and given to Carrick, or worse yet, the Lord of Darkness.
Without hesitation, Bethany answers, “Of course Damian, please be careful and bring Amillia back though. Matthew will be safe, although to be honest we’ll probably leave here even if I can’t get a hold of Gloria. I’m not trying to be in the same city as you as a demon and her being completely evil and insane. You’re bad enough, but we don’t know what she’d be capable of.”
Bethany does have a point and that’s something that Damian thought about himself. That’s the whole reason for this visit. With this mission accomplished Damian vanished from where he had been standing outside of Bethany’s apartment and back into the club where he had left Amillia.
He makes his way back up to the VIP room, the exact room he had left from. Relief floods through him as he can still sense all the powers emanating from the room, although he would have rather preferred it if it had one less power source on the inside. He’s still not a fan of Erik and probably never will be to be honest.
Once again he walks into a sight that he hadn’t plan on seeing, and it’s now way too late for this club to still be as packed as it is. Damian can’t help the sigh that leaves his lips and the anger coursing through his system once again. He doesn’t like the fact that Amillia is the reason for all of his anger here lately, this isn’t how everything is supposed to be.
Amillia and Leyla are now the one’s dancing on the table. There’s blood splattered everywhere. The few mortal men that had been in the room are setting there looking undisturbed by the fact the stripper they had been throwing money at not even thirty minutes ago is lying dead on the floor with her throat slit open. Damian is wondering which one of the two woman killed the poor mortal and is silently praying that it wasn’t Amillia.
Damian tsk as he walks back into the room.
“Didn’t I tell you little one, I’m a very jealous person, and this,” he says speaking to Amillia and waving his arms around at four different men all this woman watching as she and Leyla dance on the table. Leyla completely ignoring everything around her. “This makes me angry and was not what I meant when I said be good and stay here”
Damian is standing right behind one of the mortal men in the room who is gawking at Amillia. It doesn’t help that Erik is doing the same thing but it’s not as if he can kill Erik right now, he wants to know why he’s here and what his involvement is with everything. Although, killing him now could potentially solve any future problems that they would have.
With quickness, Damian grabs the man’s head and twists it, the sound of the bones cracking as his head is removed from his shoulders makes everything but the music stop in the room.
“What the hell Damian!” Amillia stays stopping instantly in the spot where she had been dancing. “You know he was a judge, right? How the hell are we going to explain this?”
“The same way you explain the whore I guess,” Damian says with a shrug of indifference. "Doesn’t really matter to me honestly. I warned you that I’m a jealous person and I’ve told you that you’re mine. Besides, he was a vampire anyways, give it a second and there will just be a pile dust and no body left behind.”
And, sure enough as soon as the words leave Damian’s mouth the man turns into a big pile of dust. Amillia looks at the man frowning. Like seriously, how had she not noticed that. Damian has a smug grin on his face. Leyla is still ignoring everything going on around her and enjoying being in her own little world while Erik is starting to get mad at the statement that Damian made. How could Damian claim to be jealous of some one who isn’t even truly his. Amillia is meant to be with Erik, and he knows about it, everyone knows about it, and he’s not about to just give up on them just because the prince of darkness is infatuated with her.
Amillia crosses her arms across her chest making her breast bunch out and stick out more than normal, and upon noticing Erik’s gaze, Damian’s eyes shine with the burning fire way to brightly making Amillia drop her hands.
“You’re no fun,” she pouts at Damian, who in return rolls his eyes.
“This,” he says spreading his arms emphasizing everything around them, “was never fun to begin with little one. I promise you that. You have no idea what actual fun is.” He said as if challenging her.
It’s Leyla’s turn to speak now, “he actually has a point, sad to say,” she jumps down off the table. “While this is a nice distraction it’s no where near the fun and chaos that we could be having, especially with all of us together.”
“Let’s do it then!” Amillia exclaims. “I was feeling bored here anyways, plus it’s about time for this damn place to close down.” An eye roll accompanied her final statement.
“What the hell is there to do around here that would be considered ‘fun’?” Erik huffs with mockery in his voice.
This makes Damian laugh out loud and even Leyla couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face. The ignorance of some can be so amusing. It’s completely obvious that Erik hasn’t been in this world much considering he doesn’t even know how much fun can be had toying with the mortals that live here. It really is quit amusing how gullible the mortals can be.
“Think of it this way, Erik,” Leyla begins, “all these poor little innocent mortal souls that are wondering around this world lost haven’t a clue as to what is truly surrounding them. This is all like one big old playing field for people like us, why do you think demons and creatures of the darkness love this world so much?”
Amillia whispers something into Leyla’s ear, something that neither one of the two guys in the room can hear. She has a plan, and it’s not a good plan, but it’s one that would cause so much chaos in this world that even the Lord of Darkness would be proud of them.
Without another word to anyone the two girls disappear. The smug look and evil smile on Leyla’s face tells Damian all he needs to know. Whatever it was that Amillia just whispered to her is nothing good, and the way that they just vanished made it impossible for Damian to track them. One of the many trick that Leyla no doubt picked up from Carrick after being with him all these years.
“Are you sure this is going to work?” Leyla asks Amillia.
“Oh yeah, start the corruption and get it going and the seals will break. There’s no way anyone in this world will be able to stop it. If we do everything just right then we can even take over and crumble the world that I’m from.” Amillia responds.
“Don’t you think that this world is plenty corrupt enough?” Leyla asks being skeptical of Amillia’s plan. It’s not like greed hasn’t ruled the world for many years. Leyla doesn’t understand how Amillia would know whether or not the world is already spinning into the end of times.
Amillia can’t help but to roll her eyes. Sure, Leyla doesn’t know who she truly is, but that’s really no excuse for being as ignorant as Erik seems to be about everything. After all, didn’t one of the main leaders of the underworld “adopt”, or kidnap depending on how you look at it, Leyla? Shouldn’t she already be aware of what’s going on in this world and what isn’t.
“Why sure, Leyla, this world is plenty corrupt and run by greed and power-hungry individuals, but that doesn’t really mean much honestly. That just means that the mortals really suck at caving into inner desires is all. Don’t you know there’s always more to the story?” Amillia responds.
They are standing on top of Mauna Kea, Amillia holding a burlap sack in one hand and a silver blade in the other.
“What are we even doing here?”
Amillia just smiles and turns the burlap sack upside down emptying its content into abyss below. She then takes the knife and cuts her hand, turning to Leyla holding the knife out to her for her to do the same.
“Are you fucking insane?!” Leyla asks really starting to question the sanity of Amillia when her soul is overrun with the darkness.
“Nope, perfectly sane, or at least by the new standards anyways, go ahead, this thing is going to require blood of the gods, and since they’re not just going to come down and willingly give it to us, we’re going to have to improvise. After all, both of us have god blood running through our veins love.”
Assuming that Amillia is talking about her being the daughter of Carrick, she doesn’t ask any more questions, she just rolls her eyes and cuts her hand. Both girls hold their hands over the volcano and their blood drip into it.
