At that moment I felt so hurt that I just wanted to cry, he left me without thinking about me, without even saying anything to me, a sign if you want, he left me. That's simple.
But the dilemma continued, an endless stalemate, surely Julian had an explanation, he always did, he would come to me again, it was obvious. He liked me, he was the first damn man in my life.
"Are you well?" Harry sputtered. It wasn't possible that even when he was drunk, he worried about me.
For the first time I decided to leave Julian aside for a bit, there was someone there who needed me and I couldn't just leave him there to run into Julian's arms, even though my desire to do that was immense.
"Yes, I am, you're not..." I took his hand and went inside his house.
In the kitchen there was a woman dressed as a maid, she was arranging some sweets on a tray when I appeared.
"Hello, excuse me. Can I have some water?" I asked and she nodded.
"Here you are Miss." She said handling me the glass.
"Thanks." I replied and gave him a smile.
"Eloise... You..." Harry started to speak but I cut him off.
"Drink this water." I handed him the glass and he drank it all. "Now you are going to use the bathroom and wash your face." I spoke and pulled him towards the top floor, where his room was. I knew there was a bathroom there, so that's where I was going to take him.
"You are wonderful." Harry said stuttering. I ignored his tantrums and shoved him into the bathroom.
"Wash your face and use the bathroom." I ordered and closed the bathroom door.
I went out into the hallway and stood there waiting for him to come out.
"You over here…" Harry's mum appeared out of nowhere greeting me.
"Hello Mrs. Barierre. How have you been?" I asked keeping polite.
"Very well. I want to introduce you to my husband." She said. "Antonio!" He called and a man looking about Julian's age appeared. He had a few white hairs on his head, was thin and had green eyes. Much like Harry.
They were there before me, the ones responsible for making Julian's life hell. I didn't quite know how to react, but I couldn't just treat them badly and say they were motherfuckers for framing an innocent man.
"Pleased to meet you sir." I said and smiled awkwardly.
"Delighted miss." He said and walked over to kiss my hand. I felt a wave of disgust, he had raped several girls, including Julian's sister!
"She is our son's girlfriend." Brenda said to Antonio.
"Excuse me ma'am, but I'm not his girlfriend." I informed.
"Fine, I don't mind that you're shy." she insisted.
"Look…" When I opened my mouth to speak, Harry appeared looking better than before.
"Mother father?" He said.
"Son... We were here meeting your..." Harry cut her off.
"Friend." he concluded.
"Yes friend." She reluctantly agreed.
"Your friend is very pretty, by the way." Antonio spoke without taking his eyes off me, I wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. I was afraid he would try to do to me what he did to those girls in the past.
"Yes, she really is beautiful. But she already has a boyfriend, too bad for me." Retorted Harry with an air of mockery. Something in me said he knew of his father's conduct in other respects as well.
"I'm going to the bathroom, wait for me here?" I asked him.
"Clear." He said.
"Excuse me." I told them and went into the bathroom. I didn't want to do anything but get them out of there.
I stayed a few minutes inside the bathroom, from there I looked at Julian's house, I could see his silhouette in the shadow of the curtain, I wondered where he had been those days, or what he thought about me. I was in denial, why did he leave me like that?
After leaving the bathroom, I felt my cell phone vibrate, without any hope I opened the message and to my surprise it was him.
"I know you must be upset with me, but I have a great explanation for you. I just need to know where you are?" Julian.
Very angry with his attitude, at the same time that my heart wanted to jump out of my chest, I typed a quick and objective message.
"Nothing justifies you leaving me like this. I don't want to see you anymore."
I had never told a lie as big as that one. But I needed him to feel what it's like to think he's going to lose the person he cares about. It could be weird being childish, but my maturity with relationships was zero and considering mine, it wasn't normal at all.
"You don't understand. You can never leave me, don't tell me you're at this fucking party out front!"
I didn't answer and put the cell phone away, but I felt it vibrate stronger, it was calling. I didn't want to answer it and went back to the bathroom where I washed my face and dried it with a towel that was there, at that moment the cell phone rings nonstop and impatiently I answered it.
"Where are you?" asked the thick voice on the other end of the line growling like an angry animal.
"I should be asking you that! Where have you been this whole time?" I fought back by trying to keep my voice steady.
"Shit! You're at this fucking party, aren't you?" he shouted.
"Stop cussing! And yes I'm here for my friend's birthday!" I exclaimed and then Harry entered the room.
"Everything okay there?" he asked. Certainly listening to my loud voice.
"Are you with him? Why isn't the noise so loud in there? Fuck, are you in his room? Answer him!" Julian was yelling on the other end of the line, it really wasn't a good idea for me to pick up. I hung up the phone on him.
"I'm not feeling well. I think I'll be right out." I said rushing out of the room.
"No you won't. Please." he asked.
"Seriously, we'll see each other at school. I'm really not feeling well." I spoke and when I went through the door my cell phone rang again.
"Get out of there now! They know about you!" Julian.
Oh meu deus! My heart froze, it felt like a drum inside my chest, the blood drained from my face and I felt dizzy. I concentrated on running away as fast as possible, pulling Olivia by the arm and running away.
"Get out now! I'm waiting for you out here, hidden. When I leave, I'll find you." Julian.
With the cell phone in hand reading his orders I started down the stairs. There was little left, come on, just a little bit more.
When I stepped on the last step, I felt a strong hand holding the air in my nostrils, a strong smell invaded them making me lose all senses and black out against the darkness.
