DOUBLE TROUBLE WITH THE TWIN WOLVES - EPILOGUE
E P I L O G U E - - - - T O M
Tom questioned whether he had ever felt so anxious.
"Have I ever felt this anxious?" Tim, who appeared to be struggling to tie his tie as if it were the first time, was asked that question.
Both of them had worn ties at least once before, to Jerome's wedding, Tom was certain of that. And perhaps to something like a high school graduation, if their mother had made them go. In any case, tying a tie was still fucking black magic, and he could sympathize with his brother's frustration with his reflection, so it had to be one of those memories that he'd blocked out.
"Eighth grade forgot to prepare for that test that Miss Demain gave." Tim said, his brows furrowed in concentration, "You were pretty nervous back then."
Tom snorted and looked back at his reflection. "Not really what I had in mind," he said.
He had to admit that he looked good in a suit. very stylish When the evening was over, he couldn't wait to rip it off, throw Madison on the bed, and demonstrate to her how much better he looked completely naked. When Tom smiled to himself about that particular aspect of the wedding, Tim shot him a quick warning glare.
You know, she can tell if you're being difficult during the ceremony.
"You're fucking so helpful. Tom moaned, though he quickly entered suppression mode in an effort to push the thoughts of their sexy mate from his mind. "I'll be as hard as I want to; it's my goddamn wedding, I swear to God," he said.
Not as easy as it sounds.
They had envisioned a lavish but reasonably priced church wedding. Their line of work didn't come with large bank accounts, and the ring itself had cost them all of the money Tim had set aside to pay the next installment to Blake, which turned out not to be necessary. But it didn't matter one bit. In addition to contributions from family and friends, Tom's and Tim's local parish graciously offered free use of the church if they chose to hold the wedding in Batangas.
Even though it was early January and the weather wasn't ideal, everyone involved felt that doing this at home was the right decision. They wished to be as near to their relatives as possible, if anything. Overall, it was a fortunate coincidence that the entire family was based in Batangas. However, it did result in an odd wedding celebration. The werewolves on Tim and Tom's side were all traditional werewolves who were deeply ingrained in pack culture. family of Madison? As uninhibited as one might anticipate from a group of scientists.
No one objected because it worked. Of course, Ryker and Reidan were a big help. The boys were developing like weeds, and everyone wanted to be a positive influence on them. To Maddison's obvious dismay, Ryker was already arguing with Tom, and he loved it.
"That kid's got a mouth on him!" Frequently, Maddison would moan and Tim would snort after Tom's proud exclamation.
It was also accurate. If they were male, shifter twins would always resemble their fathers in some way. Reidan was more composed, quiet, and steady. Ryker caused a ruckus. Tom had no trouble figuring out who took after whom; however, it didn't really matter. He had no idea his heart was so large that it could hold that much love, but he loved them both equally.
He was aware that the twins, who were too young to serve as ring bearers, were already seated in the front row but would still carry the rings with the assistance of their grandmothers. Additionally, Maddison was also somewhere far from them. Since Tom and Tim bought into all of that jinxing stuff and whatever, they had not seen her in more than a day. They had gone traditional, at least according to Maddison's traditions.
Tom thought it was a little silly considering they had already performed the ceremony under the light of the Gold Moon full moon a few days prior. She was their mate, and that was the end of it in his eyes. However, there was no need to be nervous during that ceremony because the wolf was in charge. Here? The man had butterflies in his stomach, for crying out loud.
Once they had both taken care of their ties, they were able to leave and proceed to the altar. Of course, Jerome and the rest of the team were in charge of security, but Tom was confident that nothing would go wrong. But it's better to be safe than sorry. Shaun offered to take up a sniper nest and lookout post in the church bell tower. Tim and Tom had agreed grudgingly. Shaun wasn't a big fan of weddings. When fate decided to hit that guy over the head, Tom was fairly certain it would be hilarious.
There were beaming smiles all around Tom as he cast his gaze out into the crowd. While keeping an eye on one of the side exits, Mitchell waved and winked at him, and Jerome nodded supportively from behind. Before the music began, Tom merely remembered to breathe. His mind was racing with a thousand ideas, from questioning whether everything would go off without a hitch to trying to figure out if there would be enough food for the reception.
The instant Maddison left, all of that conversation came to an end.
Like always, she made him gasp for air. She teases Tom just enough to send him teetering on the brink of insanity with her red curls loose around her shoulders and her dress off the shoulder and swimming around her in elegance. He briefly turned to face Tim and noticed that his brother was equally enthralled. In a word, she was flawless. They had her, too. It took all he had to resist the urge to sprint down the aisle, seize her, and flee with her as he saw her holding back tears of happiness with her lips quivering a little. Oh my God, she seemed too good to be true.
He was thinking to himself, "How did we get so lucky," beaming with pride as she approached him and Tim. Tim took her left side, and Tom took her right, with Maddison looping her arms through theirs.
She muttered, "This is really happening," grinning as if every Christmas for the rest of her life had come early.
Tom could see tears glistening in Tim's eyes as he said, "It had to." It had to happen.
Tom grinned silly and muttered under his breath, "I'm going to make you both so goddamn happy you won't know what hit you.”
Tim and Maddison both burst out in loud, unrestrained laughter, and none of the three of them gave a damn about the priest's slight glare. Get ready for marriage, lock and load!
